The non-communicable Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) is one of the leading causes of death globally each year. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is the easiest and fastest test to monitor heart function. Interpretation of morphology of ECG waves and time intervals on ECG curves are important to diagnose heart abnormalities. Determining the deviation of each segment like PR, QRS, ST etc. on the ECG curve from their normal range is very important to interpret heart abnormalities or cardiac arrhythmia and this information helps in diagnose heart disease. This paper presents an architecture level FPGA design of a Sigma-Delta Modulator (SDM) for accurate detection of QRS complex from ECG curve. The proposed SDM is implemented using Xilinx Systen Generator (XSG) models and validated through simulation in MATLAB simulink. The method is tested on 24 ECG recordings of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The performance of the method is measured by the matrices sensitivity, positive prediction rate, and percentage error and the average values are 99.4213 %, 97.9365 % and 2.9561 % respectively. © 2024 ieee.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder causing cognitive decline and memory loss. With its significant impact on individuals' lives, AD is the most prevalent form of dementia, contributing to 60-80% of all dementia cases. At the same time, symptoms may not surface until years later, making early detection vital for effective intervention. Thus, this work presents an approach to early AD detection by integrating Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) with deep learning models and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI). First, different classical machine learning models are developed for AD, and a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model is trained using the AD GWAS dataset obtained from the AD neuroimaging initiative. We then employ transfer learning to train our CNN model as a base model over the ADNI dataset. In addition, XAI methods are used to interpret the transfer learning model decision. Acknowledging the well-known limitation that classical machine learning is not inherently a generic model. The results from this study will help determine the most critical genetic markers associated with AD and provide transparency in understanding the deep learning model decisions. © 2024 ieee.

The Maritime Industry is a massive business, connecting the entire world, as the main means of trading of essential goods. Nevertheless, there are challenges with the ever-increasing maritime traffic complexity, safety, performance, energy efficiency and automation. These challenges are driving the industry to embrace a digital transformation of the sector, with the application of state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence, Big data and High-Performance computing technologies. With the extremely large amount of data generated by shipping, it is possible to apply these technologies to model the ships and their behaviours, create digital twins of the ships, as well as to model the traffic patterns in the sea, make optimal route predictions, etc. However, due to the vast number of actors in the Maritime Industry, the large amounts of data generated by the different actors is wildly varied, heterogeneous and complex. To use this data to train Machine Learning models and Artificial Intelligence technologies, there is a need for all the data coming from the different actors in the industry to be homogenised into a single unified format. To accomplish this, the authors propose the creation of the VesselAI data Ingestion and Harmonisation Services, a tool that enables ingestion and harmonisation of generic maritime datasets. This tool provides the ability to map a raw dataset of choice to a harmonised schema with the application of Natural Language Processing algorithms, with no need to use scripts or develop code.

The relationship between cognitive Theory and Cloud Technology is a learning stage for humans, especially technology users, in various innovations used by users in modeling reasoning to develop human direction toward a better future. It includes learning on a large scale, such as objectively coordinated thinking, which provides for decision-making, social interaction, and access to various technological devices used. The above also focuses on human familiarity with various distributed computing services in cloud technology, including PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS. This research used a systems literature review model for over 20 years (2000 - 2023). Meanwhile, the applications used are Vos Viewer and Publish or Perish. Due to the author's limited access to ieee, ACM, and WoS, the database used and the focus of the literature is the Scopus database. In five years (2019-2023), the writing purpose accounted for only 55 articles, with 39 explicitly addressing cognitive theory and human behavior in the context of cloud technology. In this research, five factors influence human behavior with cloud technology: social interaction, access and connectivity, problem-solving, decision-making, and data confidentiality security. However, of the five impacts entered and obtained from the papers and journals studied, the most critical findings from this research are social interaction, data privacy and security, and decision-making. People will use cloud technology for social interaction, to protect and maintain the confidentiality of their data, and to make various decisions related to their activities. This research also shows that most references come from journals, not conference proceedings articles. © 2024 ieee.

The focus of this study is the role of cloud computing in triggering big data revolution, especially regarding scalabil- ities and efficiency boosts that are brought about by exascale systems. Along with increase in volume and variety of big data, conventional data processing infrastructure appears incapable to properly handle the huge amount of data. Cloud computing, which is a scalable environment and flexible services, is a solution in doing so but big data combined with it becomes problematic in terms of data security, real-time processing and cost man- agement as well. Based on the an in-depth literature review, well-established models and intelligent computing techniques, this project is focused at the teamwork between existing clouds and exascale platforms which tries to address these problems. A new highly efficient floating-point adder/subtractor has been refined to enhance the efficiency of both addition and subtraction processes. This design emphasizes a streamlined architecture for quick computation with power efficiency. One important feature of this adder/subtractor is its simplified structure that enhances floating-point arithmetic and reduces power consumption. Despite including a subtraction circuitry, the compact design makes it suitable for high-performance computing environments. Such an adder/subtractor is essential in financial modelling as it processes vast amounts of complicated numerical data to predict market trends. It also serves scientific research by providing trustworthy and effective arithmetic solutions thus enabling data analysis and simulations. The power consumption goes down by 4.153W, the LUT (area) goes down to 189, and computational efficiency increases tremendously compared to traditional methods. This versatility, better performance, and power efficiency make the design valuable to different industries, which offer benefits such as reduced topology complexity and optimized mathematical manipulations. © 2024 ieee.

Hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) has gradually become prevalent in mainland China since the first official report in 2008. The incidence of HFMD is increasing among children mainly aged zero to five. Thus how to monitor and prevent HFMD is becoming an important public health challenge. This study aims to build a forecasting framework of HFMD for two Chinese cities, Chengdu in Sichuan Province and Guangdong in Guangzhou Province based on LSTM, by utilizing clinical data of HFMD, meteorological factors, and Baidu index data. This study presents a comprehensive method of mixing randomly generated simulated datasets to analyze several Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the context of smart cities Using matplotlib and numpy libraries, combined with Python programming language, analysis simulate real-time data on temperature, air quality and energy consumption. The survey elaborates the specified exploration of rising generation which enhances the pupil's cooperative problem-solving in computer network troubleshooting by analyzing the present literatures and also add-ons to the discussion about improving learning studies through pedagogical origination and technological integration through synthesizing literature evaluation, methodological development, and empirical evaluation. The effects offer clear cut explanation on how AI-driven structures for remarks can transfigure coaching methods and encourage the continued growth of educational strategies. A preliminary exploration is carried out to scrutinize multimodal data, which includesvarious methods to identify students' cognitive and affective conditions, methodically distinct educational results with and without feedback systems, and crafting novel techniques for in-the-moment analysis and adaptation of instructional strategies. In the pilot project, a new approach is introduced called Feedback and Emotion based Student State Analysis (FESSA), in which it evaluates the students work in small groups to solve problems cooperatively while their eye movements and emotional reactions are monitored. To understand the emotional and cognitive processes involved in learning, this research based data is evaluated. To examine the effect of feedback structures on learning results and scholar engagement, a comparative analysis is performed.
