Wireless sub-mm sized distributed brain implants have been proposed as the next frontier of Brain-Machine Interface (BMI) design to achieve untethered, high-density neural recording and stimulation. Simultaneously improving the wireless power transfer (WPT) efficiency and reducing the specific absorption rate (SAR) will be crucial for its clinical success. Towards these goals, we present an EM simulation method, a lumped equivalent circuit model, and a theoretical analysis to accurately predict the power delivered to the recording/ stimulating nodes, as well as the power dissipated in biological tissues and all other lossy elements within the system. this comprehensive framework also explains how increasing the distance between the transmit coil and the scalp can beneficially reduce the SAR without undermining the WPT efficiency. this work presents a rigorous prediction technique for transmission loss and tissue heating towards performance optimization.

this paper presents a framework for solving assembly line design problems by considering ergonomics aspects. Although ergonomics factors have been ignored in conventional optimization problems in this area, in the long term, ergonomics risks and work-related injuries can impose considerable expenses on production systems. Moreover, in the design stage, different types of uncertainty in operational and ergonomics aspects can affect the optimization model. therefore, the optimization framework in this study includes the results of ergonomics assessment tools and employs fuzzy logic to tackle imprecise factors. In the context of our problem, the sources of imprecision are twofold: environmental uncertainty and system uncertainty. Environmental uncertainty is related to demand uncertainty derived from market variations and customers' behavior. system uncertainty includes the uncertainties within the production process that partially relate to human aspects, such as uncertainty in task execution time and the physical capacity of the operators.

Using renewable energy sources (RESs) such as solar and wind generation systems poses a challenge in supplying safe and stable power to the power grid due to output power variability. therefore, the problem of output power variability requires the advanced development of essential technologies and methodologies that will minimize the power variability problems and permit the existing power grid to integrate a high penetration of renewable energy. One strategy to accommodate the power variability of RESs is adding an energy storage system (ESS) to improve the power supply's reliability and stability. To take advantage of the combined benefits of using RESs and ESSs, this paper proposes an optimal storage capacity sizing problem while considering the safe operation against output power variability. To do this, the linear programming mathematical model explores the relationship between storage capacity and safety conditions. the safety-based optimization problem is formulated using LP Solver in Matlab. the actual experiment data of iHouse (smart apartment) is employed for the spring season to validate storage capacity sizing. Finally, a couple of case studies are designed and analyzed for the optimal capacity sizing of energy storage to guarantee the safe operation of a power system with renewable sources.

In this paper, we consider the miDIIDum mean square error-based constructive interference optimization (MMSE-CIO) problems to ensure the minimum required constructive interference gain under a fixed total-power constraint, which involves critical implementation issues regarding the computational complexity. the optimum solution is derived in a closed form for a digital precoder subject to a fixed analog beam, serving as a key implementation block to reduce the computational complexity in the proposed hybrid beamforming under a more complexity situation in which the different types of modulation schemes are mixed. We also show that MMSE-CIO can achieve a significant performance gain withthe advantages of link adaptation over legacy CIO scheme in nonhomogeneous scenario.
