this paper presents a smart navigation systemthat uses Building Information modeling (BIM) data extracted from Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) files to generate a graph network for efficient path planning. the proposed method focuses on the construction of a graph networks, and the application of optimization algorithms to estimate optimal paths in a building environment. First, we extract relevant information about the building such as spaces, doors. this data serves to construct a graph network that represents the connectivity and relationships between different spaces in the building. Once the graph network is established, optimization algorithms are used to estimate optimal paths for navigation. the proposed method aims to provide accurate and efficient path recommendations, enhancing navigation in the building environment. the performance of our method is evaluated using a larger graph network derived from a real-world building. the results demonstrate the potential of the smart navigation system in achieving reliable path planning.

the industrial Internet of things (IIoT) interconnects an exponential number of industrial devices, and more flexible and low-cost communications are widely in demand. the fifth-generation (5G) communication provides two industrial-target technologies, massive machine-type communications (mMTC) and ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), to meet the demand. We design a 5G-aided quality test system, where various sensors are connected to the base station (BS) and send contextual information via mMTC. the BS and quality test machine transmit short-length commands and small-size feedback to each other via URLLC. the problem is formulated as a long-term optimization one withthe purpose of improving the product qualification rate. We develop a novel contextual combinatorial quality test (CC-QT) algorithm to solve the problem. We further derive a performance upper bound of the proposed CC-QT and analyze its computational complexity. Experimental results illustrate the performance of CC-QT and substantiate its superiority over the existing algorithms.

Real-time constraint satisfaction for robots can be quite challenging due to the high computational complexity that arises when accounting for the system dynamics and environmental interactions, often requiring simplification in modelling that might not necessarily account for all performance criteria. We instead propose an optimization-free approach where reference trajectories are manipulated to satisfy constraints brought on by ground contact as well as those prescribed for states and inputs. Unintended changes to trajectories especially ones optimized to produce periodic gaits can adversely affect gait stability, however we will show our approach can still guarantee stability of a gait by employing the use of coaxial thrusters that are unique to our robot.

A policy that reduces communication overheads by committing together all transactions completed within an interval of time is examined. A model of the system involving two queues served alternatively with preemptions is analysed in the steady-state under Markovian assumptions. An exact and easily implementable solution is derived and is used in order to determine performance measures such as average occupancy or average latency. the optimal length of the operative interval is evaluated numerically. A non-preemptive policy is simulated and is shown to be considerably less efficient than the preemptive one analysed here. A generalization to non-Markovian operative intervals is outlined.
