the rapid expansion of Internet of things (IoT) ecosystems has increased the complexity and vulnerability of software systems, making them more susceptible to security breaches and performance inefficiencies. Traditional security and optimization techniques struggle to keep up with the dynamic nature of IoT networks. this calls for the development of advanced frameworks that can adapt in real-time to evolving threats and operational requirements. this paper introduces Cyber Twins, an AI-driven framework designed for real-time security and software optimization in IoT environments. Cyber Twins leverage artificial intelligence and digital twin technology to create dynamic cyber representations of physical IoT devices and software processes. the framework integrates reinforcement learning for adaptive optimization, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for anomaly detection, and graph neural networks (GNNs) for real-time threat analysis. By continuously synchronizing with live IoT data, Cyber Twins enable proactive threat detection and autonomous system optimization, ensuring a secure and high-performing IoT ecosystem. the proposed framework combines Federated Learning (FL) for distributed intelligence and Reinforcement Learning (RL) for adaptive decision-making. Key advancements include (1) a 35% improvement in intrusion detection accuracy compared to traditional methods, (2) a 40% reduction in false positive rates, and (3) a 25% increase in dynamic software adaptation speed. Experiments conducted on a simulated IoT environment with 1,000 devices demonstrated scalability and resilience under varying network conditions. Additionally, the framework achieved a 20% decrease in latency during AI model updates and a 30% reduction in computational overhead, ensuring efficient resource utilization. © 2024 IEEE.

Reducing energy consumption in spindle system has received attention from many researchers because of rising awareness of environment impact in manufacturing process. Moment of inertia is linked closely to energy consumption with motor efficiency and power density. In this paper, we present optimal design of spindle motor based on reducing moment of inertia for saving energy consumption. IPMSM is applied to the spindle motor instead of IM. Multi-objective optimization of IPMSM is conducted. Moment of inertia, power density and cost of energy consumption are objective functions of optimization. PM area is selected as optimization boundary because of high PM cost.

the operating cost of multi-stack fuel cell (FC) hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) is notably affected by the energy management strategy (EMS). For this purpose, this study proposes a predictive hierarchical (PH)-EMS to decrease the multi-stack FC-HEV operating cost. the PH-EMS consists of two levels. the first level is a Sugeno-type fuzzy logic (FL)-EMS that determines the number of active FCs for participation in an optimization level based on the vehicle's future velocity. the second level is the model predictive control (MPC) approach, which distributes the optimal power among FCs and the battery based on the number of active FCs and predicted velocity in the prediction horizon. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed EMS, the results are compared to a rule-based (RB) EMS. the results indicate that the total operating cost of the PH-EMS is 55.504% lower compared to RB-EMS.

this paper presents a flexible harmonic domain (FHD) model of a grid-connected solar PV system amenable to harmonic analysis. the system consists of a 4.12 kW solar photovoltaic array that provides supply continuity and reliability for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) ground control station. the proposed system consists of a solar array, a boost converter, a three-phase inverter, and a three-phase filter. FHD technique is used to model the system, as it accounts only for dominant frequencies which enables obtaining of compact yet precise description of the system's harmonic interactions. Compared to complexity, extra harmonic extraction routines, and large computational resources of the time domain technique (TD), FHD needs only one matrix inversion to obtain both the voltage/current waveforms and harmonic content of each part of the system. the obtained results prove the feasibility, accuracy, and simplicity of the proposed FHD technique for modeling switched devices while maintaining the computational resources. For each part/state of the proposed system, both the waveform and its harmonic content are visualized. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Marine operations are becoming more and more demanding. Efficient modeling and analysis of marine operations under environmental effects, especially in high sea states, will provide a means to improve operational safety. Traditional modeling and analysis are often carried out based on establishing the combined equations of the multi-body system. However, modeling, simulation and analysis of sub-systems may be performed in different software tools or require extensive derivation. It is inconvenient to vary the system configuration regardless of manufacturing design or behavior analysis perspectives. Co-simulation as an emerging technology enables the reusing and sharing of models so that different sub-systems can be modeled independently but simulated together. In this study, a system based on a co-simulation platform - Vico is proposed, which enables the digitalization of marine operations from modeling, configuration to simulation. the system consists of multiple sub-models of the ship, the marine crane and their coupling component, which are all converted and exported as functional mock-up units (FMUs). Various scenario settings such as environmental effect, ship maneuver and crane payload can be configured for the simulation of specific marine operations. Taking the research vessel Gunnerus as the testbed, two case studies about the impacts from the environment and a shipboard crane on marine operations are conducted. the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the marine operation system. the system could also be a foundation for further research on onboard support of marine operations. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the rapid development of the economy and power electronics, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is widely used in various fields, vigorously promoting the development of China's equipment manufacturing industry in the era, and the related topics have become a hot topic nowadays. However, permanent magnet synchronous motor control systems are characterized by non-linearity and time-varying parameters, which pose a threat to the reliability of practical engineering applications. Based on this, this paper combines an improved grey wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm with a PID controller to establish a general model of a permanent magnet synchronous motor speed control system, including control, drive and feedback modules, to achieve accurate control of the running speed of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Finally, the simulation model of space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) based system is built by MATLAB/SIMULINK, and the simulation and analysis of corresponding parameters are completed given a definite input signal. © 2023 IEEE.

Geomagnetically induced current (GIC) manifests its effects in electric power systems with DC current flow and characteristic harmonic signatures in the AC current. the harmonics generated from GIC will overheat transformers and other iron core circuits and increase reactive power consumption. We identify the major power devices affected by GIC and determine the modeling requirements for realistic assessment of GIC effects including harmonic signature during these events. Low frequency broadband transmission line models, grounding models, and transformer models with nonlinear reluctance in the magnetic circuit are developed and used for high fidelity simulations of power systems subjected to GIC. In addition, the DC component generated by GIC would introduce DC flux in iron cores instrument current transformers, leading to distorted magnetizing current and distorted output. the non-sinusoidal magnetizing current will increase significantly as the DC flux increases, leading to distortion in measurements. To reduce this distortion, a state estimation based method for instrumentation channel error correction is implemented, derived from the detailed modeling of the instrumentation channel. the method reduces the error from this distortion and recreates the primary quantities with high fidelity. the risk of relay misoperation due to errors in measurements is drastically reduced. Based on the result of harmonic signature analysis, a detection and protection scheme for GIC is proposed and simulated. the detection is based on the characteristic harmonic signature consisting of odd- and evenorder harmonics;the control consists of the insertion of a grounding capacitor between transformer neutral and ground. the results show the proposed method is able to successfully detect the onset of GIC and protect the power system by drastically reducing the harmful harmonic components during GIC.

A cup winding permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) is proposed for the application of flywheel energy storage system(FESS) in wind power generation, which can effectively improve the efficiency of the motor/generator and reduce the height of the flywheel. Firstly, the structure of the whole flywheel system and the cup winding PMSM are given. Secondly, the preliminary design scheme and the main parameters of the motor are obtained, and the influence of parameters on the motor performance are analyzed by 3-D FEM. then a new optimization strategy combining BP-ANN based on genetic algorithm(GA) and multi-objective PSO was proposed to optimize the motor design, and the results of optimized design are compared with the preliminary scheme. At last, preliminary experiments of the prototyped flywheel is conducted to verify the partial analysis and the excellent performance.

this present work focuses on the problem of estimating the largest region of attraction of nonlinear system with saturation. this nonlinear system can be put in the form of differential algebraic representation, as well as to take in to account the presence of saturation we have used a generalized sector condition for the dead zone nonlinearity. the aims of this paper is to find the large region of attraction identified with the direct theory of Lyapunov function and for find the largess domain of attraction. We proposed to use an advanced technique of optimization JAYA which swift and precise. In this present study, we present an example for demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.

A new scheme for the automated design and optimization of electromagnetic energy harvesters is presented. the proposed method aims to deal with the limitations of current design techniques and to improve the efficiency of the design process. Most of the current design approaches require significant user experience and knowledge to make informed design decisions, which means that a large amount of time is needed to obtain the optimized design. Additionally, the design solution is suitable only for a specific application, which makes it difficult to adopt it to other application demands. In the proposed method, the development cycle has been sped up significantly by minimizing human efforts and utilizing a generic model for the design process. the method is based on a generic template based on specific resources and requirements, which is processed by a black-box optimization algorithm to come up with a number of promising configuration suggestions. the method's effectiveness and its autonomous operation are demonstrated based on the design optimization of an electromagnetic pick-up unit for vibration energy harvesters using a Halbach array.
