Factors affecting the interaction of the active cultivator paw with the soil environment are considered in this article. It was established that the active oscillating effect of tillage machines on the environment leads to reduction in its traction characteristics, and the design of symmetrical movable paw is capable of self-oscillation in a horizontal plane. It was developed the theoretical model of oscillatory movements that takes into account the main structural parameters of working bodies represented by symmetrical cultivator paws of the active type. For laboratory studies, a circular soil channel is used, which ensures the movement of the soil relative to the stationary working body for an unlimited time, as well as recording the results using computer, photo and video equipment. © 2021 IEEE.

As of today, there has been increasing research on designing optimization algorithms and intelligent network control methods for visible light Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) networks to provide pervasive and broadband connections. For those theoretical analysis based algorithms, there is an urgent need to have a visible light UAV network platform that can help evaluate the proposed algorithms in real-world scenarios. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is currently no dedicated high data rate and flexible visible light UAV networking prototype. To bridge this gap, in this paper, we first design a novel programmable software-defined architecture for visible light UAV networking, including control plane, network plane, signal processing chain and front-ends plane, and ground facility plane. We then implement a prototype and conduct numerous experiments to validate the feasibility of visible-light UAV networks and further evaluate the system performance pertaining to achievable data rate and transmission distance. the real-time video streaming experimental results show that up to 550 kbps data rate and a maximum distance of 7 meters can be achieved.

Hydro power modelling is important to facilitate the integration of large amounts of variable renewable energy. However, appropriately modelling hydro power presents challenges due to its interconnections with both electricity and river systems. the aim of this paper is to investigate the performance of two selected open-source energy modelling tools for hydro power planning, SpineOpt and PyPSA, with a focus on user-friendliness, accuracy and execution time. In this study, a small river system with two hydro power plants is modelled to maximize the revenue using both tools. At the same time, this linear optimization problem is implemented by Gurobi directly, such that results and execution times from SpineOpt and PyPSA are compared with this baseline. In conclusion, both open-source tools can appropriately model the hydro power system, with SpineOpt having a unique graphical interface and PyPSA has a good performance in execution speed.

the Job Shop Scheduling Problem (JSSP) is a widely studied combinatorial optimization challenge with significant real-world applications, characterized by its NP-hard complexity. Priority dispatching rule (PDR) is a widely used heuristic to solve JSSP. Unfortunately, designing an appropriate PDR is time-consuming. In this paper, we present an efficient solution to the JSSP by introducing a novel framework based on a weighted Graph Isomorphic Network and deep reinforcement learning. Our approach involves representing JSSP through a disjunctive graph, reformulating it as a Markov decision process. A weighted Graph Isomorphic Network is generated to learn the representation of the disjunctive graph of JSSP during solving, with weights given by the relationship between a pair of nodes. the Proximal Policy optimization (PPO) is used to train the policy network to get high-quality PDRs. To enhance computational efficiency, we introduce an adaptive multi-action selection strategy. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method on public JSSP benchmark instances and compare it with other well-known dispatching rules. the experiment results show that our proposed method achieves the shortest makespan. the incorporation of the adaptive multi-action selection strategy further enhances the efficiency of our approach without significant degradation in scheduling performance.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capture real-time aerial data. However, onboard computational resources and battery life in a UAV device is limited. In both academic and industrial sectors, solutions based on the mobile edge computing paradigm have been extensively discussed. In this paper, a group of small UAVs are exposed to a range of computing tasks. Some of these tasks call for the execution of difficult computations and complicated algorithms which are computationally-heavy task, and offloading to a powerful computational device is required. In contrary, some tasks are data-heavy, and offloading these tasks lead to a considerable transmission delay. thus, the performance of the system depends on whether a task is offloaded or computed locally. the UAVs are having three options for a given task, i.e., locally complete the computation task, transfer the task to a surrogate UAV (medium/Iarge UAV) through the wireless local access network, or transfer to a edge server through the cellular network. To solve this optimization problem, a heuristic approach is purposed where each UAV device takes a decentralized offloading decision based on the nature of the task (computationally-heavy or data-heavy) for minimizing the total overhead, i.e., computation delay, transmission delay and monetary cost. the performance of the proposed approach is compared with three models, i.e., local computation, offloading all the tasks to the surrogate UAV, and offloading all the tasks to the edge server. It is observed that the proposed model achieved on average 25-30% less global overhead. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper the authors discuss optimizing the key point of the subframe. the objective of the paper is to optimize the current design of the Alternative SkidCar frame. It is an auxiliary device, which attaches to the chassis of the car and allows controlled variation of the adhesion force transmitted between the wheels and the ground. the current form of the frame is assembled only from the point of view of functionality. the frame is obviously designed to make production as simple as possible. At the same time, it is oversized in terms of material. optimization consists of finding a key construction node, which is the weakest point of the frame structure, while minimizing the weight, using the finite element method. Subsequently, we used the finite element method simulation for another material and we evaluated the current form of mechanical stress in this node, achieving a minimized weight. A new software study of the proposed design was subsequently performed. Based on the conclusions of the paper, the weight of the Alternative SkidCar frame was significantly reduced while respecting the required load capacity. Because the frame of the Alternative SkidCar is attached to the car as an accessory, it is desirable that it influences the vehicle's behaviour minimally. the change was made by reducing the thickness of the material profile and changing the material used. Just reducing the weight of the frame - it is this change that has a significant positive effect on the behaviour of the car, complemented by the Alternative SkidCar system.

this paper deals with the problem of energy consumption minimization in Open RAN cell-free (CF) massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (mMIMO) systems under minimum per-user signal-to-noise-plus-interference ratio (SINR) constraints. Considering that several access points (APs) are deployed with multiple antennas, and they jointly serve multiple users on the same time-frequency resources, we design the precoding vectors that minimize the system power consumption, while preserving a minimum SINR for each user. We use a simple, yet representative, power consumption model, which consists of a fixed term that models the power consumption due to activation of the AP and a variable one that depends on the transmitted power. the mentioned problem boils down to a binary-constrained quadratic optimization problem, which is strongly non-convex. In order to solve this problem, we resort to a novel approach, which is based on the penalized convex-concave procedure. the proposed approach can be implemented in an O-RAN cell-free mMIMO system as an xApp in the near-real time RIC (RAN intelligent Controller). Numerical results show the potential of this approach for dealing with joint precoding optimization and AP selection.

the automation coverage of logistics warehousing in China is still at a low level, and the sorting capacity of express delivery is relatively backward. the whole sorting process cannot be completely separated from manual work. the identification, sorting and transportation of express parcels need human assistance. In this regard, the AGV scheduling algorithm design and optimization of the logistics system based on CNN (convolutional neural network) in this paper has better convergence characteristics. through simulation experiments, AGV2 reprogrammes the running path from the loading point 21 to the unloading point 24 at the 13th moment, avoiding conflicts with AGVu3 at node 15 at the 20th moment. Low priority AGV2 also reprogrammes the running node at the next moment. the conflicts and deadlocks are eliminated in the iterative operation of the algorithm. this experiment verifies the effectiveness of the algorithm after optimization of AGV scheduling algorithm in logistics system. In this paper, the CNN priority tasks are related to the current task waiting time to break the barrier between priority and low priority, and achieve a balance between the two, so that some low priority tasks can be well executed, and improve the quality of service of the entire low priority tasks.

In order to deeply integrate smart agriculture with the new generation of information technology, we have designed a system that can collect crop growth data and environmental data represented by soil moisture and temperature for digital modeling. At the same time, to make full use of artificial intelligence to extract effective information from big data to help agricultural planting and decision-making, we combine the data collected by sensors with the existing knowledge about agriculture on the internet to build an agricultural knowledge base with entities and relationships. A multi-hop question-answering model based on a knowledge base is designed to guide agricultural production. We are taking 100-hectare experimental farmland as an example, introducing the deployment method of agricultural sensors, and focusing on designing a multi-hop question-answering model for the knowledge base. Our question-answering model achieves SOTA on three publicly available datasets. Moreover, 100% accuracy was obtained on the 3-hop test set of MetaQA.

Cooperative perception is an essential and widely discussed application of connected automated vehicles. However, the authenticity of perception data is not ensured, because the vehicles cannot independently verify the event they did not see. Many methods, including trust-based (i.e., statistical) approaches and plausibility-based methods, have been proposed to determine data authenticity. However, these methods cannot verify data without a priori knowledge. In this study, a novel approach of constructing a self-proving data from the number plate of target vehicles was proposed. By regarding the pseudonym and number plate as a shared secret and letting multiple vehicles prove they know it independently, the data authenticity problem can be transformed to a cryptography problem that can be solved without trust or plausibility evaluations. Our work can be adapted to the existing works including ETSI/ISO ITS standards while maintaining backward compatibility. Analyses of common attacks and attacks specific to the proposed method reveal that most attacks can be prevented, whereas preventing some other attacks, such as collusion attacks, can be mitigated. Experiments based on realistic data set show that the rate of successful verification can achieve 70% to 80% at rush hours.
