Based on the studies of dynamic processes taking place in the electromechanical part of electrical drives of non-supported pendulum suspended ropeway in start-up and braking modes, it was proved that the dynamic processes taking place in the movable mechanical part are due to the tachogram of the movement of the electrical drive, which in turn does not fully reflect the dynamic processes taking place in the movable mechanical part of the electrical drive. that is, it does not take into account the acceleration of suspended cabins due to the weight of running trolleys and external cabins, since in start-up and braking modes the structure of the initial design model of the mobile mechanical part of the electrical drive changes twice, with two-mass with split driven masses it passes three-mass and back. On the basis of the conducted study of the dynamic processes taking place in the movable mechanical part of the electrical drive non-supported pendulum suspended ropeway in start-up and braking modes, the methodology for compiling the optimal tachogram of electrical drive movement according to high dynamic indicators and productivity, taking into account all the features of the kinematic scheme of the non-supported pendulum suspended ropeway, is justified. the calculation method its parameters are given. Application of tachogram of motion in control systems of electrical drive of non-supported pendulum suspended ropeway built by the proposed method excludes changes in structure of design model of the movable mechanical part of the electrical drives in transient modes, which leads to improvement of dynamic parameters of electrical drive and accuracy of control of movement of suspended cabins of pendulum suspended ropeway. © 2021 IEEE.

Quadcopters, as a subset of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), have seen a surge in research interest given their vast application potential in civilian and military arenas. this paper introduces an optimized approach to attitude control in quadcopters. An innovative Conditioned Adaptive Barrier Function Integral Terminal Sliding Mode Controller (CAB FIT-SMC) has been developed to tackle the problem of trajectory tracking in the quadcopter. Moreover, a sliding mode control (SMC) is instituted for comparative analysis. the optimization of these control laws is accomplished using the quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm. this algorithm blends the principles of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and quantum mechanics, offering a metaheuristic approach to optimization. the nonlinear model of the quadcopter has been framed utilizing the Lagrange formalism, integrated with MATLAB's ODE-45, and accounts for gyroscopic moments and aerodynamic effects. the system's asymptotic stability is verified through a Lyapunov stability analysis. the paper includes a comparative analysis of all optimized control laws through graphical and tabular comparative analysis. the efficacy of the control law is evaluated against six performance metrics, namely mean absolute percentage error, root mean square error, integral square error, integral absolute error, integral time absolute error, and integral time square error, to identify the superior control law. A 3D-helical complex trajectory is utilized for evaluating the performance and consistency of the proposed optimized controllers. the results indicate that the CABFIT-SMC controller, optimized with the QPSO algorithm, outperforms the optimized SMC across all performance metrics, thus proving its effectiveness for attitude tracking of a quadcopter system.

AI applications powered by deep learning are increasingly running on edge devices. Meanwhile, many real-world IoT applications demand multiple real-time tasks to run on the same device, for example, to achieve both object tracking and image segmentation simultaneously on an augmented reality glass. However, the current solutions can not yet support such multi-tenant real-time DNN inference on edge devices. Techniques such as on-device model compression trade inference accuracy for speed, while traditional DNN compilers mainly focus on single-tenant DNN model optimization. To fill this gap, we propose Aaron, which leverages DNN compiling techniques to accelerate multi-DNN inference on edge GPU based on compile-time kernel adaptation with no accuracy loss. Aaron integrates both DNN graph and kernel optimization to maximize on-device parallelism and minimize contention brought by concurrent inference.

We present design, technological verification, and optimization of a compact 512-channel silicon nitride-based AWG-spectrometer developed for the realization of an on-chip spectral domain optical coherence tomography system. the spectrometer was designed for TM-polarized light with a central wavelength of 850 nm and having a resolution of 0.1 nm. For the design the AWG-Parameters tool was used. Simulations were performed using Optiwave’s PHASAR photonics tool and the designed structure was fabricated in a standard CMOS foundry process. the simulated and measured optical spectra were evaluated and used to further optimize the AWG structure. the AWG-spectrometer was integrated onto the chip and the OCT measurements proved its suitability for OCT on chip applications.

Simulation of large hydro-thermal power systems requires several extensive simplifications and model reductions. For hydropower systems with several interconnected power stations, these reductions can be particularly challenging and are denoted Equivalent models. the purpose of the Equivalent model is to mimic a more detailed hydropower model, while decreasing computation time, to be used in larger power system models. In this paper different Equivalent models for hydropower systems have been computed with a novel approach using a Particle swarm optimization-algorithm and are evaluated with respect to accuracy in hourly and total power generation as well as computation time. For each of the Equivalent models, computation time is decreased with over 99.99% and the difference in power production is less than 11% compared to a more detailed model.

this paper addresses the nonconvex optimal control (OC) problem with the cost functional and inequality constraint given by the functionals of Bolza. All the functions in the statement of the problem are state-DC, i.e. presented by a difference of the state-convex functions. Meanwhile, the control system is state-linear. Further, with the help of the Exact Penalization theory we propose the state-DC form of the penalized cost functional and, using the linearization with respect to the basic nonconvexity of the penalized problem, we study the linearized OC problem. On this basis, we develop a general scheme of the special Local Search Method with a varying penalty parameter. Finally, we address the convergence of the proposed scheme. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

While voice-controlled automated Wheelchair-mounted robotic arms (WMRAs) could potentially offer more natural and simplified interactions than manual control, they introduce new challenges related to human-robot collaboration. To explore user expectations in terms of functionality and interface, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 13 powered wheelchair users who have upper limb impairments. A prototype with a robotic arm, a camera, and a Unity-based simulated interface was developed to help users understand the concept and functionality of the voice-controlled automated WMRA system during interviews. With safety as a priority, we found that users prioritized the WMRA's ability to grasp objects in challenging positions, such as on the ground or at high locations, and emphasized the need for a versatile gripper. Users also expected the WMRA to assist in performing complex daily tasks, with varying expectations for its performance based on task difficulty. Regarding the interface, users sought more information about the system's awareness and task execution, while emphasizing the importance of avoiding information overload. the demand for detailed safety information, such as temperature and gripping force, pointed to the need for enhanced sensor capabilities in the WMRA system. Additionally, concerns about privacy underscored the need for clear communication on privacy policies. Our results provide user-centered insights for automated WMRA, offering design implications and future research directions in areas such as user modeling, hardware, algorithms, and interface development. © 2025 IEEE.

the Solar Array Drive Assembly (SADA) system plays a critical role in managing satellite health by ensuring continuous power generation during orbital operations. Its operational dynamics are influenced by celestial phenomena involving the Sun, Earth, and Moon, particularly during eclipses. these dynamics produce complex, high-dimensional data patterns across different timescales and modes, necessitating advanced analytical approaches for effective health monitoring. this study focuses on comparing various data-driven methods to capture the multivariate, multiscale, and multimode nature of satellite operations, specifically for monitoring the SADA system. the methods employed include Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Dynamic Independent Component Analysis (DiCCA), and a scale-mode decoupled DiCCA framework. the latter is designed to uncover latent dynamics in orbital movements and satellite functionalities, using DiCCA as internal blocks for building prediction models. By comparing sensor observations with model predictions, the study tracks residuals to assess the SADA system’s health. Real-world datasets from a communication satellite SADA system validate the effectiveness of the scale-mode decoupled framework. this study not only enhances satellite anomaly detection capabilities but also advances understanding of SADA operations, contributing to more reliable satellite health management.

In the present work, we describe a general set-valued variant of the network equilibrium problem with fixed demand. this problem is equivalent to a set-valued variational inequality. Under certain additional assumptions, it can be replaced with a nonsmooth convex optimization problem. We propose to apply the subgradient projection method with a special two-speed step-size choice procedure to this problem. Computational experiments on model networks showed that the proposed approach is rather efficient. It gives a more flexible procedure for the choice of parameters. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

the Internet of Everything is a necessary link for building smart cities, smart manufacturing, and other scenarios. And the demand for many forms of data such as high definition and high precision for the Internet of Everything puts great pressure on the storage and transmission of data. Starting from the end of the Internet of things (IoT), this paper investigates a compressed sensing algorithm adapted to the end of the IoT sensing and computing system to reduce the power consumption and data communication volume of the end sensing and computing system and proposes an optimization algorithm for iteratively updating the measurement matrix and sparse dictionary. First, fix the sparse dictionary and use adaptive gradient descent to make the Gram matrix infinitely approximate the unit matrix and the matrix determined by the sparse dictionary structure to obtain the optimized measurement matrix; then, use the sample data obtained from this matrix to perform sparse dictionary learning and use the results as the dictionary input for the next round of measurement matrix; finally, improve the measurement matrix and dictionary performance through continuous iterative updating. Simulation experiments show that the measurement matrix and sparse dictionary obtained by this method have better performance for image signal acquisition reconstruction in a low sampling rate environment compared with traditional optimization algorithms.
