In online advertising, auto-bidding has become an essential tool for advertisers to optimize their preferred ad performance metrics by simply expressing high-level campaign objectives and constraints. Previous works designed auto-bidding tools from the view of single-agent, without modeling the mutual influence between agents. In this paper, we instead consider this problem from a distributed multi-agent perspective, and propose a general Multi-Agent reinforcement learning framework for Auto-Bidding, namely MAAB, to learn the auto-bidding strategies. First, we investigate the competition and cooperation relation among auto-bidding agents, and propose a temperature-regularized credit assignment to establish a mixed cooperative-competitive paradigm. By carefully making a competition and cooperation trade-off among agents, we can reach an equilibrium state that guarantees not only individual advertiser's utility but also the system performance (i.e., social welfare). Second, to avoid the potential collusion behaviors of bidding low prices underlying the cooperation, we further propose bar agents to set a personalized bidding bar for each agent, and then alleviate the revenue degradation due to the cooperation. third, to deploy MAAB in the large-scale advertising system with millions of advertisers, we propose a mean-field approach. By grouping advertisers with the same objective as a mean auto-bidding agent, the interactions among the large-scale advertisers are greatly simplified, making it practical to train MAAB efficiently. Extensive experiments on the offline industrial dataset and Alibaba advertising platform demonstrate that our approach outperforms several baseline methods in terms of social welfare and revenue.

throughout history, humans and animals have coexisted, relying on each other for aid and comfort. From offering companionship, to serving as hunting partners or providing other manual labor, our connection with animals runs deep. the study aims at developing mathematical models to assess whether households are suitable for having pets. the purpose is to provide a quantitative and objective approach for predicting pet adoption. For task 1, we first established an indicator system of three first-level indicators (Material Conditions, Environmental Conditions, and Mental Conditions) and 9 second-level indicators, then collected 20 sets of data from 20 organizations. the findings of this research affirm that the model can effectively distinguish between suitable and unsuitable households for keeping cats in Finland while it also applies elsewhere in diverse countries. It also successfully projects the number of households likely to adopt cats in the studied regions and is extended to assess the suitability for various pet types. In the United States, a remarkable 35100000 households have been projected as ready to adopt cats. Japan follows with an estimated 8400000 households prepared for cat ownership. In the Germany, there is a substantial potential with 10500000 households ready to adopt cats. For task 2, we adjust these weights to accommodate four additional different pets (e.g., dogs, small mammals, ornamental fish, and birds), then the weights should be reevaluated in light of each pet’s unique needs and suitability for different home environments. the prediction using the random forest method yielded an F1 value of 81.59%. In addition, we perform quantitative estimation of the optimization model for multiple pets, and the obtained model works well. For task 3, linear regression and gray prediction fusion model are employed for predicting future pet ownership patterns. In the design process of high-precision motion stages, the dynamic behavior is of paramount importance. Manual design of such a stage is a time-consuming process, involving many iterations between engineers responsible for mechanics, dynamics and control. By using topology optimization in combination with additive manufacturing, post-processing using traditional machining and parts assembly, it is possible to arrive at an optimal design in an automated manner. the printing, machining, and assembly steps are incorporated in the optimization in order to directly arrive at a manufacturable design. With a motion stage demonstrator optimized for maximum eigenfrequencies, it is shown that combining additive manufacturing and topology optimization at industry-relevant design precision is within reach and can be applied to high-performance motion systems. the capacity of Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) as a data-inspired methodology to discern spatial-temporal structures and predict future states in intricate dynamical systems is the focal point of this investigation. this methodology is employed on a system comprising a flow past a cylinder at a Reynolds number of 250 and a Strouhal number of 2.5. the study aims at utilizing DMD to deconstruct the underpinning flow dynamics, detect coherent structures associated with spatial modes, and assess its predictive capacity. the investigation pivots around three unique scenarios, each highlighting a different boundary condition for the cylinder. these include the flow dynamics past a stationary cylinder, perpetually anti-clockwise rotating cylinder, and an oscillatory rotating cylinder, with the oscillation frequency equal to the vortex shedding frequency of the first case. the examination of these cases allows for an evaluation of DMD's prowess in capturing the modes relevant to each flow condition and its potential for future state prediction. the implementation of DMD allows for the effective detection of the dominant modes pertinent to the diverse flow conditions. this facilitates a comprehensive understanding of the spatiotemporal characteristics of the flow past the cylinder. the temporal analysis of modes in each case identifies the energy flow and capturing of dominant frequencies among different modes, indicating system harmonics. this phenomenon is specific to Hopf bifurcation, which is the characteristic of a periodic flows at Re > 47. Using the identified modes, the temporal evolution of the flow is extrapolated, enabling accurate predictions that extend beyond the available data. this aspect is especially significant in areas like flow control and optimization, where accurate future state prediction is vital.

In the problem of state stabilization under constraints on state and control variables, it is assumed that the state of the system is measurable. However, in real situations, the state of the system is measured, as a rule, with an error. therefore, the question of the possibility of using the obtained controller in this situation remains open. In this article, we study the problem of estimating the set of admissible initial states for a dynamic system, in which the controller obtained in the state feedback control synthesis problem under constraints imposed on state and control variables, will provide stabilization even in the case when the system state is measured with an error. the sufficient conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities to estimate the set of admissible initial states of a dynamical system. the solution is based on the application of the method of Lyapunov functions and technique of linear matrix inequalities. the key point in the proof of the theorem is the application of the S-procedure being non-defective under two constraints. As an example, the problem of stabilization of an inverted pendulum is considered. Numerical experiments have confirmed the theoretical results. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

the emergence of new energy vehicles, especially electric vehicles (EV), has brought many development prospects. Power cuts in private electric cars can cause drivers to panic over long trips. therefore, this paper proposes a charging path planning method for EV considering the influence of road condition information. this paper first analyzes the influence of energy consumption, vehicle delay estimation and traffic impedance under the control of different phase signals. On this basis, a path planning model is established to study the charging path planning of electric vehicles under the influence of road condition information. Finally, the feasibility of the model is verified by comparing different algorithms and different path selection results with and without traffic signal control, which provides a theoretical basis for the research of path intelligence guidance system.

this paper proposed a 20-year transmission expansion planning (TEP) in a hybrid power system with microgrid (MG) integration based on light robustness optimization modeling considering microgrid capacity expansion (MGCE). the proposed light robust optimization model (LRO) can coordinate the economy and robustness of the TEP problem, and alleviate the over-conservative issue compared with the standard robustness optimization model (RO). Firstly, TEP considering MGCE without uncertainty is selected as the standard method to achieve a standard planning scheme. then, the MG power uncertainty represented by some interval uncertainty set is considered and an LRO-based TEP model is constructed, in which a cost tolerance parameter is introduced to relax the total investment s to balance the TEP scheme's economy and robustness. the proposed LRO model is solved using the Matlab YALMIP/GUROBI optimization toolbox. An 18-bus test system is used to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model. In addition, a critical solution for LRO can be determined by investigating the relationship between cost tolerance and the infeasible objective.

the European path to decarbonization of the economy implies a large share of renewable energy in the power system, which in many cases consists in variable resource renewables, such as wind and photovoltaics. Economical and available storage is needed to minimize the investments and operational costs and limit overcapacity of renewables and spillage of their production. In this paper an optimization problem is set and solved, aimed at obtaining both the optimal installed capacity and hourly operation of a power system, including the storage power and capacity. the method has been applied to the Iberian Peninsula power system of 2030 to check the optimality of the proposed generation mix. Results show that the targets may be reached with a moderate need of storage and a small amount of renewables spillage and combined cycle plants with higher capacity factor than now.

this paper proposes an easy modelling for Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC) in NEPLAN software. this model can be used in power flow analysis of power systems which include such a device. It is designed so that it can be added to various case studies without excessive calculations. It depends on power injection approach, simply a voltage source and an impedance, which facilitate controlling either injected active power or injected reactive power to the system, or both. this model is tested on IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 14-bus standard systems to assure the robustness and effectiveness in different analysis cases. Besides, for each case, the test conditions are changed so that the model is tested in multiple cases, and its quality is guaranteed for purpose of different power system analysis.

Renewable energy sources have, compared to the classical ones, the advantage of sustainability. the decision regarding the storage location requires evaluating the statistical parameters of electrical energy production, knowing the conditions imposed by the system operator. this paper deals with the optimal location of wind turbines in a power system with wind generators. As the wind energy production is variable, the storage systems can be used with the wind turbines as aggregators participating in the energy market. the storage energy systems can participate at balancing market function of their capacities and market constraints.
