this paper presents the architecture of system that has been developed for practical verification of the real-time control algorithms performance intended for servicing mobile platform. the system has been implemented using the hardware-software framework developed within RobREx project. this framework is a composition of a well integrated software tools and hardware devices dedicated for developing a complex, distributed real-time controlsystems. the framework supports a component-driven development paradigm, provides a ready-made application building blocks and introduces standard interfaces. the elaborated system is composed of several software components that together with hardware devices constitutes the fully functional, experimental testbed that allows testing of control algorithms in real-time.

Additive layer manufacturing is emerging as the next generation in part manufacture. It is being adopted by aerospace, tool making, dental and medical industries to produce and develop new conceptual designs and products due to its speed and flexibility. It has been noted that parts produced using additive layer manufacturing are not to a consistent quality. Variations have been recorded showing inadequate control over dimensional tolerances, surface roughness, porosity, and other defects in built parts. It is, however, possible to controlthese variables using real-time processes that currently lack adequate process measurement methods. this paper identifies process variation and lists parameters currently being recorded during a commercial additive manufacture (AM) machine build process. Embodied interaction is particularly useful in museums because it allows to leverage findings from embodied cognition to support the learning of STEM concepts and thinking skills. In this paper, we focus on Human-Data Interaction (HDI), a class of embodied interactions that investigates the design of interactive data visualizations that users control with gestures and body movements. We describe an HDI system that we iteratively designed, implemented, and observed at a science museum, and that allows visitors to explore large sets of data on two 3D globe maps. We present and discuss design strategies and optimization that we implemented to mitigate two sets of design challenges: (1) Dealing with display, interaction, and affordance blindness;and, (2) Supporting multiple functionalities and collaboration.

Robust MPC is an advanced control strategy to optimize control performance subject to the constraints of the system inputs/outputs and in the presence of bounded disturbance. the paper presents novel MATLAB/Simulink MUP toolbox for on-line robust MPC design using LMIs. Software MUP represents an efficient and user-friendly tool. therefore it is recommended to use this toolbox especially for educational purposes oriented on advanced process control. Effective congestion control allows networks to operate in region of low delay and high throughput. these characteristics seem to be the most required from network environment properties. To achieve high transfer rates, variety of methods and algorithms are proposed in the literature. this paper focuses on congestion control using a method combining a particle swarm optimization algorithm and the use of finite impulse response filer for non-stationary, discrete, dynamical model of communication channel. Proposed control strategy tunes the model to alleviate the results of sudden, unexpected network state changes. that helps to avoid undesirable congestion effects like packet dropping, retransmissions, high transfer latency and low network throughput.

Model transformation has become now well established as an approach to control and automate the production of the software targeted at large or embedded systems. However, this approach still lacks the ability to be fully automated and to take into account the possibly very large number of Non Functional properties (NFPs) required by the system. Starting from a design written in an architecture description language (AADL), a large number of valid transformations are candidates to be applied, withthe aim to refine this design, in a step wise manner, towards its implementation. these transformations may be interdependent, and their selection should take the complex dependency relation into account. the selection should also take into account the impact on NFPs, especially knowing that NFPs may very often be in conflict. In this paper, we propose an approach that automates (i) the identification of model transformation alternatives (MTAs) taking into account their dependencies, and (ii) the selection of MTAs, based on evolutionary algorithms (EAs), that produce the best output models with respect to NFPs. Experiments on a case study provide evidence that the approach can be successfully applied for code generation of real time embedded applications.

We propose a scalable method for forward stochastic reachability analysis for uncontrolled linear systems with affine disturbance. Our method uses Fourier transforms to efficiently compute the forward stochastic reach probability measure (density) and the forward stochastic reach set. this method is applicable to systems with bounded or unbounded disturbance sets. We also examine the convexity properties of the forward stochastic reach set and its probability density. Motivated by the problem of a robot attempting to capture a stochastically moving, non-adversarial target, we demonstrate our method on two simple examples. Where traditional approaches provide approximations, our method provides exact analytical expressions for the densities and probability of capture.

In this paper, an auxiliary power unit (APU) for railroad car, which is applied a resonant DC/DC converter and a single-switch boost converter with SiC device, is proposed. the proposed circuit adopts SiC device in order to overcome disadvantages of IGBT. Compared to IGBT, since SiC has smaller switching loss, SiC can be operated at higher switching frequency. therefore, the proposed APU with SiC can reduce the output voltage ripple and improve the efficiency. the proposed APU of 40 kW prototype is validated through a computer-based simulation.
