Alcohol is a progressive central nervous system depressant. Increased alcohol consumption leads to alterations in cognitive processes and also affects speech production. In this study we present a corpus of n=35 patients diagnosed with Alcohol Dependency Syndrome (ADS) and n=35 matched healthy controls, and attempt to automatically distinguish the two speaker groups based on their spontaneous speech. By using wav2vec 2.0 embeddings as features, we were able to identify the two speaker categories with quite high accuracy (EER scores between 9% and 20%, and AUC scores above 0.885). We also sought to find the difference between the two speech tasks (a general spontaneous task and an alcohol-related one) performed by the subjects. Lastly, we analyzed the amount of pauses present in the speech of the subjects. Based on our results, even three simple pause-related attributes are sufficient for the automatic identification of the ADS subjects with an acceptable performance for both speech tasks.

As technology continues to evolve and integrate into every aspect of our lives, effective technology management is becoming increasingly critical. Among the latest significant topics in this field is supply chain security management. the growing complexity of technology and the expansion of open-source platforms, cloud services, and other technologies have amplified the roles and authorizations of various third parties involved in the technology supply chain. this has led to a rise in supply chain attacks leveraging these third parties, as such attacks are relatively accessible for attackers and highly efficient;a single successful attack can compromise similar systems. Generative AI systems are particularly vulnerable to supply chain attacks due to their complex and interconnected nature. these systems comprise various elements such as data, models, and infrastructure that continuously evolve, forming a dynamic system ecosystem. As a result, compromising even a minor component of the generative AI system ecosystem can jeopardize the entire system. In this paper, we emphasize the importance of supply chain security for generative AI. We define supply chain security for generative AI through an analysis of the structure of these systems and propose a security model for managing supply chain security. this model is based on a comprehensive examination of major security standards and guidelines related to generative AI. We conceptualize generative AI supply chain security as the implementation of strategies, processes, and controls to secure the entire lifecycle of a generative AI system—from source, design, and development to deployment and maintenance. Our aim is to protect data preprocessing, source code, learning algorithms, third-party libraries, and related components such as prompts and infrastructure from potential vulnerabilities, threats, and attacks. this includes securing the AI system development process, ensuring the reliability of service providers, and

In the early days of the Open Source Robotics Foundation, a lesser-known project aimed to design an “app-able robot”, leading to the creation of the “Capabilities” package for the Robot Operating system (ROS). Over a decade later, formulating robot capabilities remains a significant technical hurdle in bringing robots from the lab into everyday life. this paper introduces Capabilities2, a successor to the original Capabilities package, now reimagined for ROS2. Capabilities2 enhances the original design by enabling advancements in skill-based control techniques and offering a more efficient, extensible framework for defining and utilising robot capabilities. We delve into its application in new real-world scenarios, with a particular focus on human-robot interactions and the deployment of collaborative mobile robots in human-centric environments. Capabilities2 addresses challenges in implementing intuitive, collaborative robots by introducing an abstracted database handler, an object-relational mapping for capability models, and a plugin architecture for capability execution. these features support dynamic capability representation, runtime adaptability, and integration with modern AI techniques for skill-based task planning. By providing a standardised yet flexible framework, Capabilities2 reduces the integration effort required to develop top-level controls for real-world scenarios, facilitating rapid development and deployment. Our contributions include the reimplementation of the Capabilities package in ROS2, enhancements to support contemporary robotic applications, and demonstrations of new use cases enabled by Capabilities2. We believe that Capabilities2 significantly advances the field of robotics by equipping developers with tools to create more capable, adaptable, and interactive robots. Artificial vision systems use complex algorithms to identify specific characteristics in the objects of study, but by integrating artificial intelligence, the accuracy and simplicity of the processes increases. the project focuses on a scalable, versatile and lightweight prototype, resulting in an automatic candling system. three main characteristics of chicken eggs, used in pastry and pastillage, were identified, classifying them as normal, cracked and with excess pores. In addition, a prototype was developed with a wooden structure that houses a Smartphone in charge of capturing images, LED panels for illumination and a special perforated cuvette. the captured images are transmitted to a laptop via WiFi and processed with Python algorithms using libraries such as Qt, OpenCV, Keras and TensorFlow. Two scripts manage the training of the neural network model and the system interface, which monitors, controls and stores data in databases managed by MariaDB and phpMyAdmin. With 900 images (720 for training and 180 for validation) and 2700 additional images analyzed, an accuracy of 93.93% has been achieved with a response time of 0.021954 s per egg. the system is suitable for candling of any oviparous egg. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

the unreduced dynamic complexity of modern computer, production, communication and control systems has become essential and cannot be efficiently simulated any more by traditional, basically regular models. We propose the universal concept of dynamic complexity and chaoticity of any real interaction process based on the unreduced solution of the many-body problem by the generalised effective potential method. We show then how the obtained mathematically exact novelties of system behaviour can be applied to the development of qualitatively new, complex-dynamical kind of computer and control systems.

the paper describes the dynamic behavior of the wind power plants and shows simulation results. the operation principle of the the double fed induction wind generator will be presented. the simulations were made with a Eurostag modeled version using a part of the National Power system Eurostag database.
