Prior work on command recommendations for featurerich software has relied on data supplied by a large community of users to generate personalized recommendations. In this work, we explore the feasibility of using an alternative data source: web documentation. Specifically, our approach uses QF-Graphs, a previously proposed technique that maps higher-level tasks (i.e., search queries) to commands referenced in online documentation. Our approach uses these command-totask mappings as an automatically generated plan library, enabling our prototype system to make personalized recommendations for task-relevant commands. through both offline and online evaluations, we explore potential benefits and drawbacks of this approach.

Processors based on the von Neumann architecture show inefficient performance on many emerging data-intensive workloads. Computation in-memory (CIM) tries to address this challenge by performing the computation on the data location. To realize CIM, memristors, that are deployed in a crossbar structure, are a promising candidate. Even though extensive research has been carried out on memristors at device/circuit-level, the implications of their integration as accelerators (CIM units) in a full-blown system are not studied extensively. To study that, we developed a simulator for memristor crossbar and its analog peripheries. this paper evaluates a complete system consisting of a Transport Triggered Architecture (TTA) based host core integrating one or more CIM units. this evaluation is based on a cycle-accurate simulation. For this purpose we designed a simulator which a) includes the memristor crossbar operations as well as its surrounding analog drivers, b) provides the required interface to the co-processing digital elements, and c) presents a micro-instruction set architecture (micro-ISA) that controls and operates both analog and digital components. It is used to assess the effectiveness of the CIM unit in terms of performance, energy, and area in a full-blown system. It is shown, for example, that the EDAP for the deep learning application, LeNet, is reduced by 84% in a full-blown system deploying memristor based crossbars.

this paper presents the results of a spatial augmented reality (SAR) feasibility study that compares interactions with seven different physical to virtual projected buttons. the virtual 3-D projected buttons in this case act like a touch screen;they are flat, provide no depth feedback when pressed, and activate on touch regardless of how much pressure is used. the study investigated whether these properties impacted on how users interacted withthe buttons, and if they influenced the performance of button operation. In the experiment, 13 participants pressed physical and virtual buttons while their movements were recorded with a VICON MX20 motion tracking system. Two types of physical and virtual buttons showed similar performance results, such as how quickly the subjects reacted, or how the hand accelerated to press the button. Physical and virtual buttons were equally rated by the subjects. the study supports usage of SAR technology in Product Development.
