The unmanned handling vehicle (AGV) has a wide range of applications in both civil and industrial fields, and can replace manual labor to complete the handling work. In the thesis, we use TRIZ theory to optimize the existing stepping climbing mechanism, design a high efficiency and high stability of the climbing machine, the front of the climbing machine for the double-centered crank rocker mechanism, the use of alternate stepping to complete the climbing movement, improve the efficiency of climbing, the back of a crank slider mechanism to achieve the function of auxiliary pressure to climb the stairs, and with the electric actuator to regulate the position of the center of gravity, to ensure the stability of climbing the stairs. The center of gravity is adjusted with an electric actuator to ensure the stability of climbing. We have carried out theoretical calculations, simulation verification and physical verification to confirm the feasibility of the stair climber.

Academics and the medical industry are both very interested in wireless power transfer (WPT) in medical implanted devices (MIDs). These systems have had issues with their battery life, which requires charging or replacement. Wireless power transfer in implantable medical devices is significantly hampered by the size of the coils for energy transmission and reception. Analytical calculations can be used to determine the output power of a wireless power transfer system, but it is more challenging to determine the effects of selecting a specific design or material for the transmission and receiving coil assembly. The impact of altering the distance between the transmitter coil and receiver, materials, geometries, and number of turns on output power is quantified in this work by numerical modeling. The quantifications acquired made it possible to choose a coupling coefficient model and compute the best parameters for the power transfer. The study helps to discover the crucial variables that need to be changed or managed in the coils in order to maximize the transmission of power for a wireless system. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, the skin effect on a solid copper wire is studied. The AC resistance is analysed by Finite Element Method (FEM) and the results are compared with an analytical model available in literature. As a particular case study, a Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system is used. The hollow wire is proposed as a possible solution for the minimization of the crosssection area with low current density due to the high frequency operation. An empirical formula that relates the optimum thickness and the operating frequency is proposed. The advantages and disadvantages of the hollow wire are then discussed.

The paper presents an optimization-based approach to the testing of software systems. In the proposed approach, test case selection is combined with test execution, and these two activities are conducted in parallel. Executing a test case consists of exiting the system with an input and comparing the resulting output with the expected one. The test selection procedure is iterative and is driven by the optimization algorithm. The performance index to be maximized is defined as the distance between the actual and expected outputs. This formalism will allow one to find areas that have been implemented incorrectly. An empty set of test cases will give some confidence that the system has been properly implemented. The main advantage of the approach is focus on error-prone scenarios that leads to drastically reduced number of tests to be executed, and consequently to less testing effort. An example is included to verify the approach and to present its applicability for industrial projects. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

To improve the efficiency and optimization of compaction work using a vibratory roller to prevent water leakage in dry rice direct seeding fields, we investigated how the number of compaction passes affects soil physical properties (hardness and permeability), crop growth, and root system development. Cultivation tests showed that compaction operations effectively prevent leakage and increase the number of seedlings. We analyzed its effect on 3D X-ray CT image-confirmed vertical root elongation under all conditions. In addition, we qualitatively confirmed that the roots tended to become thinner when the number of compactions was 5 compared to other conditions. Additionally, WinRHIZO analysis revealed the following: the root dry weight per number of stems decreased with 1- and 3-pass compaction and increased with 5-pass compaction, compared to uncompacted soil. The total root length per the stems decreased after 1- and 3-pass compaction and increased after 5 passes of compaction. The composition of roots with a diameter of 0.38 mm, or more, increased after 1 and 3 compactions and decreased after 5 compactions. In addition, the composition of roots with a diameter of 0.28 mm or less increased after 5 passes of compaction. The above suggested that excessive compaction may have a negative effect on the root system of paddy rice (roots become thinner). © 2023 International Society for Terrain-Vehicle systems. Autonomous Mobility-on-Demand (AMoD) system is booming in urban transportation, however, the uncertain and complex fleet dynamic scheduling remains one of the main challenges for operators. Therefore, this study proposes a multistage dynamic scheduling approach for shared autonomous electric vehicles (SAEVs). Specifically, considering the matching characteristics of the different tasks, the vehicle order-taking and charging tasks are modelled as bipartite graph maximum weight matching problems with the objectives of maximizing order revenue and minimizing charging mileage. The vehicle repositioning task is modelled as integer programming with the objective of minimizing the vehicle dispatch mileage, and stochastic chance-constrained programming is applied to cope with uncertain user demands. A solution strategy combining the KM algorithm with Gurobi solver and greedy strategy is designed to obtain the real-time scheduling instructions. Finally, numerical experiments based on real travel data validate the advantages of the proposed approach in reducing fleet scheduling costs and improving system operational revenues.

Aiming at the current smart wheelchair that still has room for improvement in terms of supple control and safe driving and needs further optimization to enhance its performance, a supple control system for smart wheelchair based on Hall rocker is proposed. The control system uses a fitted elliptic model to optimize the position data of the Hall rocker to achieve precise control of the smart wheelchair. For different traveling directions and turning situations, different speed processing strategies are used to ensure that the user can reach the maximum speed when traveling straight forward and adjust the speed accordingly to the size of the turning angle. In order to achieve precise motor speed control and maintain its operation in a stable state, a closed-loop control system is adopted. Specifically, an incremental PID (Proportional-Integral-Differential) control algorithm is used to adjust the motor speed in real time. This smart wheelchair safety control system provides an effective solution for the current smart wheelchair in terms of supple control and safe driving, which has potential application prospects.

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology (ICT) has made the industry a significant contributor to global carbon emissions. As the foundation of ICT, next-generation mobile communication networks aim to be more powerful and energy-efficient. However, optimizing energy efficiency in real networks is challenging due to large-scale, multi-layer control variables and the dynamic environment. This paper addresses the energy efficiency optimization problem from a network perspective by controlling cross-layer variables including both cell activation status and cell priority, to minimize overall network energy consumption while ensuring user quality-of-experience, which poses an NP-hard mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem. To tackle this, we propose a non-cooperative game where each cell acts as a player, optimizing its activation status and reference signal transmission power (determining its priority). We show that the game is a potential game, guaranteeing the existence of Nash equilibrium and the convergence of simple distributed algorithms towards Nash equilibrium. We further show that the Nash equilibrium points of the game can (but not always) reach the global optimal energy efficiency. Simulation results show that our proposed method can reduce the total system cost (including both energy consumption cost and user experience loss) by up to 28% compared to existing methods in the literature. Moreover, the performance loss of our proposed method, compared to the global optimal solution, is less than 13.7%. In summary, this work offers a realistic network model, introduces a novel game-based method, and provides extensive performance evaluation, making a significant contribution to both industry and academia.
