this paper solves the ripple issue that occurs in the electrical energy supplying a variable resistive load in varying climatic conditions. The desired voltage can be reached by optimally controlling the duty cycle of a DC-DC boost converter that connects the previous resistive load with a KC200GT photovoltaic generator GPV. Since the ripple issue is often generated by the direct application of Maximum Power Point Tracking MPPT control strategies, in particular the one based on the Perturb and Observe P&O algorithm that we will choose in this paper. Improving the performance of this preceding strategy would therefore be the main aim of the present study, in which a new control strategy is highlighted, which is called: Improved P&O-MPPT. The voltage regulation provided by the standard P&O-MPPT control strategy is usually achieved by the direct update of the duty cycle control. This last is done in accordance with the existing PV power and PV voltage, where a fixed step-size, user-preset, is used to perform this update. Unfortunately, choosing a large or small size of this step leads to the failure of this control strategy which in turn leads to the presence of malfunctions in the functioning of all devices implemented in the Renewable Energy Conversion REC system. The automatic update of the previous duty cycle control by the proposed voltage PID controller overcomes the drawback of the standard P&O-MPPT control strategy where the needed step-procedures that include both modeling and controller-synthesis stages making the main contribution of this paper. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper discusses the novel parameter estimation approach by incorporating the Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA) to estimate the internal parameters of the battery occurring inside it due to chemical reactions. Several tests such as an open circuit voltage test and hybrid pulse power characterization test are conducted at variable C rates under three different temperature conditions to validate the approach. The Simulink model is developed to obtain the equivalent circuit model parameters. The objective function is taken as experimentally measured voltage and estimated voltage, the RMSE voltage error magnitude is found to be 0.28%.

Cyber-physical production systems have emerged with the rise of Industry 4.0 in different industrial fields. Especially the food sector, where inhomogeneous input products like beer/yeast suspensions with different qualities and properties have yet slowed down automation, has potential for this evolution. This contribution presents optimization methods for a dynamical cross-flow filtration plant which is driven by an advanced control concept in combination with data driven product monitoring via inline near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) in order to improve energy savings and filtration performance. Using a hierarchical control and optimization structure, the non stationary batch process is steered towards a high production rate with low energy consumption for a variety of different input products.

Enterprise networks are divided into sub-domain structures for resource aggregation and trust dependency. However, the complex domain structure results in delayed and incomplete defenses from Intrusion Response systems(IRS). This paper proposes a proactive intrusion response system specifically designed for multi-domain networks called ProMD. A Bayesian Risk Graph is designed to analyze and evaluate the risks dynamically. The paper formalizes the selection of countermeasures as a multi-objective optimization problem (MOOP) and proves it is NP-Hard. Therefore a genetic-based heuristic algorithm OPGA is designed to generate optimal response policy sets and an unique policy is selected based on the Entropy Weight method. Experimental results demonstrate that the OPGA outperforms benchmark algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

Sliding Mode Control (SMC) is a robust control method to control a robot with nonlinear properties. SMC's significant control gains cause chattering problems even though they allow the plants controlled without a mathematical model. In order to solve this problem, there is a previous method that Sliding Perturbation Observer (SPO) estimates states and perturbation of the system and makes the system with fewer gains by compensating it to the SMC. In SMCSPO, proper parameter adjustment is necessary to determine tracking performance. In this study, a summary of the parameters of SMCSPO is outlined, and the algorithm is presented to optimize this control parameter by using the Gradient Descent Method with an iterative experiment. This optimizing method lets cost function with tracking errors of acceleration minimized as the iteration of experiments increases. A simple motion test of SMCSPO for a two-link robot applied with dynamics is simulated by MATLAB programming to prove this optimizing algorithm.

With the advancement of 5G technologies and the increasing complexity of tasks, there is a substantial demand for mobile edge computing (MEC) systems to optimize offloading decisions to reduce computation time and energy consumption. This paper presents an efficient offloading strategy to minimize latency and energy use in a multi-user multi-edge framework. An optimization problem is formulated, Markov decision process is established to address the NP-completeness of the problem. Extensive simulations and comparative studies against random decision-making and deep Q-network (DQN) algorithms demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed method in achieving the optimization objectives.

The Salp Swarm optimization (SSO) algorithm demonstrates efficacy in robust search operations and is favored for its simplicity in addressing large-scale optimization tasks. Despite these strengths, SSO exhibits shortcomings including reduced diversity in later search stages, slow convergence, and susceptibility to stagnation. Addressing these limitations, the proposed Quantum Delta Potential Inspired Salp Swarm optimization algorithm (QDP-SSO) aims to mitigate the drawbacks associated with SSO, offering a potential solution to enhance optimization performance. To address high-dependency optimization challenges, QDP-SSO incorporates the Quantum Delta Potential-Well model and employs a novel parameter adaptation mechanism to dynamically adjust SSO parameters for both unimodal and multimodal optimization tasks. The effectiveness of the proposed QDP-SSO algorithm is assessed using the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC 2022) benchmark suite for 10 and 20-dimensional problems. Comparative evaluations against existing SSA variants and other widely used algorithms demonstrate that QDP-SSO achieves superior optimization performance.
