In the paper the method of fuzzy clustering task for multi-variate short time series with unevenly distributed observations is proposed. Proposed method allows to process the time series both in batch mode and sequential on-line mode. In the first case we can use the matrix modification of fuzzy C-means method, and in second case we can use the matrix modification of neuro-fuzzy network by T. Kohonen, which is learned using the rule "Winner takes more". Proposed fuzzy clustering algorithms are enough simple in computational implementation and can be used for solving of wide class of Big Data and Data stream Mining problems. The effectiveness of proposed approach is confirmed by many experiments based on real data sets.

Recent advances in distributed computing highlight models and algorithms for autonomous mobile robots that self-organize and cooperate together in order to solve a global objective. As results, a large number of algorithms have been proposed. These algorithms are given together with proofs to assess their correctness. However, those proofs are informal, which are error prone. This paper presents our study on formal verification of mobile robot algorithms. We first propose a formal model for mobile robot algorithms on anonymous ring shape network under multiplicity and asynchrony assumptions. We specify this formal model in Maude, a specification and programming language based on rewriting logic. We then use its model checker to formally verify an algorithm for robot gathering problem on ring enjoys some desired properties. As the result of the model checking, counterexamples have been found. We detect the sources of some unforeseen design errors. We, furthermore, give our interpretations of these errors. © 2017 Ha Thi Thu Doan, François Bonnet, and Kazuhiro Ogata.

Vehicular-to-Everything (V2X) communications are the emerging paradigm for the intelligent Transportation System (ITS) used to enhance the traffic efficiency and reliability of timely data delivery by implementing a complete set of communication mechanism in all the devices and infrastructure involved in traffic control, monitoring, and management. This research work aims to propose a Social V2X Communication Model to improve the traffic efficiency in ITS environment by timely delivery of a required set of data with ultra-high speed integrated cellular 5G technologies. This is achieved by introducing the social behavior in V2X communication and with the provision of automated information, and surveillance. Along with this, triggering of required actions based on ultra-high speed and ultra-low latency 5G scenario of integrated networking technologies (Mobile Edge computing/Fog computing, Software Defined Networking and Cloud computing) of integrated entities such as road users (Vehicles such as Cars, Buses, Trucks are parts of it. Motorcycles, and even the pedestrians), roadside infrastructure (Traffic lights, traffic signs, barriers and gates), Road Side Unit (RSU) and all the other network units (MEC /Fog Server, V2X Application Server (AS), SDN switches, and SDN controllers). The proposed model will support all kinds of communications such as a vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communications, vehicle to pedestrian communications (V2P), a vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) communications and vehicle to network (V2N) communications in a social internet of vehicles (SIOV) environment.

The purpose of this study is a literature research on interaction design and existing software applications for dyslectic users. This literature research will contribute a future empirical study on how we could design a reading software application together with dyslectic users to enhance their reading skills. For the purpose of this research, we initially collected 175 studies, from which we selected, reviewed and made an overview table of 71 studies organized by areas of attention. The literature research on interaction design of systems for dyslectic users resulted in a presentation and comparison of interaction design (IxD) parameters. This process indicated common dimensions and elements among IxD parameters supporting users in improving their reading skills. Finally, reviewed studies on existing software applications resulted in a focus on improving dyslectics' reading performance. Our results showed that there is a trend on developing interaction designs focused on the reading conceptual area. We also discuss dyslectics users of existing software applications complaints, which resulted in a lack of existing software applications' design and system quality.

In this paper, a networked traffic controller based on edge computing is designed. The controller has the powerful abilities of computing, network communication, data storage, and application service, which can meet the critical needs of traffic control systems in agile connections, real-time communications, and data optimization at the edge of the network near the data source. A traditional traffic infrastructure is designed as an intelligent IP node that integrates the ability of control, drive, and network communication. The fireworks model is used to design system software for quick connection and efficient communication in a multi-node distributed system. The design can improve the level of coordinated optimization of regional traffic control and reduce cost and is an exploration in the aspect of edge computing and traffic control system. This paper should gain attention from the community and inspire more research in this direction. © 2018 American Society of Civil Engineers.

Because of the requirements of growing measurement scale, the issue of the networked high-precision positioning has been developed rapidly, and this paper designs a 3D spatial positioning system. With the aid of the spatial positioning principle, the 3D spatial positioning system is used to enlarge communication constraint and increase signal coordination processing. A information fusion estimation method is presented for the distributed networked systems with data transmission delays. The proposed distributed fusion estimation scheme employs the transformation of measurement and the weighted fusion of innovation sequence. To reduce the communication burden and computational cost with transmission delays, a re-optimal weighted fusion estimator is designed. Moreover, the proposed method reduces the information redundancy and maintains the higher measurement accuracy. An illustrative example obtained from the 3D spatial positioning system is given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

At a recent time Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have become increasingly focused on the ability to work effectively in different work areas. It is widely used in military surveillance, transportation management, health care, etc. in dynamic Wireless sensor networks systems, the risk of systems services and the constant change makes it a biggest challenge even though there are more attempts to acquire and process huge-scale live data. The main objective is not only to design a new routing protocol that ensures network lifetime efficiency. For that reason, we have designed the standard framework and simplify the process of building a novel geographical routing sensor networks that introduce energy awareness routing. Firstly, the whole network is divided into multiple grids with randomly distributed sensor nodes and all sensor nodes only communicates with their neighbor grids. Each grid selects the grid head based on the maximum energy level and minimum distance of the destination node in each grid. The data transmitter node identifies the neighbor grid with the grid head having maximum energy level and minimum distance of the destination node among its neighbor grids for data transmission. The proposed protocol provides a good trade-off between balancing energy and in all cases the lifespan of sensory networks can be significantly expanded.

This paper presents a deep random walk technique for drusen segmentation from fundus images. It is formulated as a deep learning architecture which learns deep representations from fundus images and specify an optimal pixel-pixel affinity. Specifically, the proposed architecture is mainly composed of three parts: a deep feature extraction module to learn both semantic-level and low-level representation of image, an affinity learning module to get pixel-pixel affinities for formulating the transition matrix of random walk and a random walk module which propagates manual labels. The power of our technique comes from the fact that the learning procedures for deep image representations and pixel-pixel affinities are driven by the random walk process. The accuracy of our proposed algorithm surpasses state-of-the-art drusen segmentation techniques as validated on the public stARE and DRIVE databases.

With the rapid change of volume, variety, and velocity of data across real-life domains, learning from big data has become a growing challenge. Rough set theory has been successfully applied to knowledge discovery from databases (KDD) for handling data with imperfections. Most traditional rough set algorithms were implemented in a sequential manner and ran on a single machine, becoming computationally expensive and inefficient for handling massive data. Recent computing frameworks, such as MapReduce and Apache Spark, made it possible to realize parallel rough set algorithms on distributed clusters of commodity computers and speed up big data analyses. Although a variety of scalable rough set implementations have been developed, (1) most proposed research compared their work with outdated sequential implementations;(2) certain distributed computing frameworks were used more frequently, overlooking recently developed frameworks;and (3) existing issues and guidance in adapting new computing frameworks are lacking. The main objective of this paper is to provide current state-of-the-art scalable implementations of rough set algorithms. This paper will help researchers catch up with the recent developments in this field and further provide some insights to develop rough set algorithms in up-to-date high performance computing environments for big data analytics.
