The main objective of work presented in this paper is to introduce the architectural overview of the big data analytics platform for support of process industries. Our aim was to design and develop the cross-sectorial scalable environment, which will enable the data collection from different sources and support the development of predictive functions to help the process industries in optimizing of their production processes. This paper introduces the components of Big Data storage and Analytics platform which is the core component of the developed cross-sectorial environment. Currently, it is built on top of the Apache Hadoop technology stack and relies on Hadoop distributed file system. On the other hand, we present the idea of integration of the data obtained from different production environments. Data integration is implemented using the Apache Nifi and we designed the workflows for processing both interval and real-time data from the production sites. In this case, we consider two pilot cases, an aluminium factory in France and a plastic molding factory in Portugal.

We report that 3D-A-DNA structure behaves as a fractal antenna, which can interact with the electromagnetic fields over a wide range of frequencies. Using the lattice details of human DNA, we have modeled radiation of DNA as a helical antenna. The DNA structure resonates with the electromagnetic waves at 34 GHz, with a positive gain of 1.7 dBi. We have also analyzed the role of three different lattice symmetries of DNA and the possibility of soliton-based energy transmission along the structure. © 2018, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Multi-disciplinary virtual prototype (MD IT) based on modeling and computer simulation technology has been applied in a wide range of engineering applications, especially the design, testing and evaluation of complex product. Generally, a large set of parameters need to be optimized to improve the performance of the prototype, which comprises a number of heterogeneous models from multiple domains. This calls for numerous collaborative simulation experiments in heterogeneous computing environments which are difficult to build and configure. Cloud simulation is a promising solution with the extremely large resource pool and dynamic construction of virtual computing environments. Thus this paper firstly proposed an optimization framework of MDVP which formulated the domain models, optimizer and the distributed interactive environment on cloud for mufti-disciplinary engineers. Then we designed the procedure for conducting parallel optimization of MDVP in the cloud simulation system by con-current execution of MDIP simulation system. The method proposed in the paper has been applied to a MDVP in the aerospace industry, which indicates that the proposed method can support an efficient engineering methodology that can transform the traditional centralized, serial simulation optimization to the distributed collaborative and parallel simulation optimization.

Despite the fact that distributed databases (DDB) have become a requirement of users and real-world applications, these DDBs are still too far from the performance of centralized DBs that have shown efficiency and robustness with their native search engines. Indeed, DDB couldnt benefit from textual search engines because of the timing issue in the distributed context and keeping data integrity among the distributed architecture. As a contribution in this research field, we propose in this paper, a new technology for indexing DDB based on the Lucene indexing engine. We prove that this technology allows, in addition to textual search, 1) the transparency of distributed architectures scaling [8] and external search indexes, 2) the optimization of the exchange protocol data between nodes, 3) the synchronous processing of insertion, deletion or failure of a node of the distributed topology. The construction of intelligent grain network is an important part of the national grain protection, and information platform is an important foundation to support the construction of intelligent Grain Network. In order to make full use of the computing resources, to meet the needs of reliable storage and efficient management of all the information, the information platform structure of intelligent grain network based on cloud computing is proposed. In this paper, the architecture of the platform is presented, and the feasibility, advantages and problems of the new method are analyzed. According to the characteristics of intelligent grain network state monitoring, combined with the Hadoop cloud computing technology, this paper proposes the solution of intelligent grain network monitoring cloud computing platform. Research on cloud computing virtualization, distributed storage and parallel programming model and other issues, can achieve reliable intelligent grain network mass information storage and fast parallel processing.

In this paper is suggested the design of a scheduler for the resources control of the distributed computer system based on a network-centric approach. There is considered the distributed computer system which is a set of heterogeneous computing nodes, been connected by heterogeneous data transmission channels and these channels are multi-channels by their nature. The scheduler for such distributed system must take into account the features of the system in order to improve the efficiency of the system operation. The proposed approach to resources control allows increase the throughput of the distributed computer system.

In mobile distributed networks, there may be possibility of unreliable communications and lack of flexibility in storing the data. In this paper, authors have proposed a distributed-based caching technique and error-free communication in mobile distributed networks. For every mobile host of the multicast tree, a mobile is placed to monitor the failure and to initiate failure recovery technique. Then the data storage is performed by selecting the caching policy based on game theory. The simulation result shows that this proposed technique enhances the reliability and reduces the communication failures.

Aiming to keep under control a particular system or environment or to ensure that it works as expected there is a need to know what-when-why happens there. Various conditions and environmental factors can lead to errors, unexpected behavior or loss of control. To pursue these factors manually is time consuming, error prone, slow and usually quite expensive. Monitoring is quite complex and challenging activity, but with recent advances of technology in many areas there is a good premise for automating almost each activity in monitoring of any system, process, and environment. The basic activity of monitoring is gathering data, which with high degree of accuracy will make us more informed, more aware and will help us to take more correct decision. This paper shows the main questions identified while trying to design architecture for an OpenSmartWorld environment monitoring system, the main characteristics which this kind of system should have and the technologies and standards proposed to be used in order to support required functionalities.

In the information age of the 21st century, a large amount of information is collected and applied. However, due to the heterogeneity of system environment for data storage and computing, how to mine these distributed data sources has become a valuable research topic that attracted more and more attention. In this paper, we firstly presented the problem scenario and main challenges confronting with the problem of distributed data mining on multiple sourced heterogeneous data sets. Then, we surveyed research works related to the problem and elicited their main features on different technology domains to show current distributed solutions for different data mining algorithm categories. Finally, we reviewed in detail the research works and discussed the challenges remained in the distributed data mining problem for multiple sourced heterogeneous data sets.
