Digital communication & internet technology has brought big revolution in transferring of digital data in 21st century. Android operating system has enhanced all application of digital technology. Digital data can be transfer in various format like image, text, animation, graphics, message, video, audio, etc. For transferring the digital data like image, there is need of various multimedia models which can support digital image property. Such as image types, seeing colors containing different color model, human vision, interaction of light with matter, image resolution & bit depth. To maintain all these property of single digital still image of scanned cheque document, there is requirement of security, privacy & authentication. This can be done by using techniques like digital image watermarking and its combination with encryption & decryption techniques. In this research paper, a hybrid intelligent DWT-SVD digital image watermarking technique is used for authenticity & ownership whereas advanced encryption standard technique using 256 bit key is used for security of digital cheque image.

Atlanta has consistently ranked as one of the most dangerous cities in America with over 2.5 million crime events recorded within the past six years. People who commute by walking are highly susceptible to crime here. To address this problem, our group has developed a mobile application, PASSAGE, that integrates Atlanta-based crime data to find "safe paths" between any given start and end locations in Atlanta. It also provides security features in a convenient user interface to further enhance safety while walking.

Cloud computing delivers digital services over the internet by using various applications which were carried out at distributed datacenters by computer systems. It provides protocol based high performance computing which permits shared storage and computation over long distances. This proposed work bridges the efficient computation and secure storage in cloud environment. Secure cloud storing includes receiving the data by cloud server for storage after applying security steps like authentication, encryption of data and allocation of storage space. In cloud computing, a secured computing infrastructure is provided to cloud user through computing request and commitment generation. Dynamic server stipulation by cuckoo algorithm is utilized after the completion of successful user access. The uncheatable computation, secure access and storage of proposed work achieve confidentiality. It improves the efficiency and manages concurrent users' requests.

Learning objects authoring is still a complex and timeconsuming task for instructors, which requires attention to technical and pedagogical aspects. However, one can take advantage of the Ubiquitous Learning Environments characteristics to make it a mild process by means of automatic or semi-automatic processes. In this way, this paper presents an approach for creating learning objects and their metadata in such environments considering collaborative interactions among users. The proposed approach is being integrated to a real multimedia capture system used as a complementary tool in a university.

The combination of sustainable energy generation and transportation is one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century. In this work, an energy management system is presented which provides energy-management-as-a-service for electric vehicle fleet operators. Energy production and price forecasts are integrated with near real-time telematics data from a shared electric vehicle fleet, to optimize charging profiles for multiple charging sites of fleet operators. For this purpose, system architecture and a proper optimization method enabling different charging strategies are introduced. The presented system is finally evaluated by real world model trails and an optimization benchmark.

This paper describes an interactive mobile application that aims to assist children who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH) and their families to learn and practice American Sign Language (ASL). Approximately 95% of D/HH children are born to hearing parents. Research indicates that the lack of common communication tools between the parent and child often results in delayed development in the child's language and social skills. Benefiting from the interactive advantages and popularity of touchscreen mobile devices, we created SmartSignPlay, an app to teach D/HH children and their families everyday ASL vocabulary and phrases. Vocabulary is arranged into context-based lessons where the vocabulary is frequently used. After watching the sign demonstrated by an animated avatar, the user performed the sign by drawing the trajectory of the hand movement and selecting the correct handshape. While the app is still under iterative development, preliminary results on the usability are provided.

Consolidating multiple applications on a system can improve the overall resource utilization of data center systems. However, such consolidation can adversely affect the performance of some applications due to interference caused by resource contention. Despite many prior studies on the interference effects in single-node systems, the interference behaviors of distributed parallel applications have not been investigated thoroughly. With distributed applications, a local interference in a node can affect the whole execution of an application spanning many nodes. This paper studies an interference modeling methodology for distributed applications to predict their performance under interference effects in consolidated clusters. This study first characterizes the effects of interference for various distributed applications over different interference settings, and analyzes how diverse interference intensities on multiple nodes affect the overall performance. Based on the characterization, this study proposes a static profiling-based model for interference propagation and heterogeneity behaviors. In addition, this paper presents use case studies of the modeling method, two interference-aware placement techniques for consolidated virtual clusters, which attempt to maximize the overall throughput or to guarantee the quality-of-service.

We live in a world increasingly digital where intelligent and communicating objects evolve and interact. These objects have their own missions and goals. However, in a more and more complex environment, mechanisms of communication and information exchange protocols need to be more efficient, fast and smart. The collaborative approach seems to be the most suitable to facilitate interaction between intelligent entities while preserving their resources by sharing relevant information that will enable them to reach more quickly their goals. For example, collaborative behaviours and informations exchanges could improve the movement of vehicles in an urban center and avoid traffic jams and more globally for all kind of autonomous agent. This article highlights what is a collaboration in the context of communicating autonomous entities. Then we present our architecture that is called HACCA (Hybrid Architecture for Collaborative Communicating Agent). We show the different levels implied in HACCA and we put the stress on the multigraph structure we have created to build and share contextual knowledge. The theory is applied to an example on communication between communicating vehicles. © 2016 IEEE.

James Watt invented the steam engine in the 17th century. It outperformed human muscle power by orders of magnitude. Nobody imagined that this single invention would evocate massive consequences: The steam engine increased industrial production, led to societal upheaval, and changed the political landscape for the next 100 years. There had been no historical parallel on the effect of a dedicated technical invention on humankind in such a short timefiume. At the beginning of the 21st century, we might experience a similar dynamic. This time, artificial intelligence spread the word of a new era that makes cognitive capabilities available on a large scale. Machines with highly sophisticated mental competencies will turn upside down the knowledge work in every company department, be it marketing, human resources, research and development, customer service, or the even the board of directors. Moreover, this time, intelligent machines will outperform human brain power. This paper argues that the arrival of artificial intelligence at the enterprise pave the way to a wicked problem: It cannot be resolved by tested methodologies, given procedures, and best practices. Instead, it requires a more sophisticated approach: First, companies must involve all relevant stakeholders at the initial stage of deployment because the impact of artificial intelligence is far-reaching. Second, companies must question their given value system because it closely resonates with the capabilities of artificial intelligence machines. Third, companies must conduct controlled experiments, because "divide and rule" do not work anymore to handle machines that mimic humanthinking. (C) 2016 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
