Electrical energy is the basic requirement for the economic development of any country. In to day's culture, electricity is a vital part of functioning as a society, we use it almost every minute. There are many causes of Blackout due to damage to electrical transmission lines. In places where environmental and public safety is at risk, power failure is particularly critical. In this 21st Century, we are using a radical and interconnected distribution network. Firstly, it briefs distribution used today which has more advantages. Secondly, the safe overhead power transmission techniques for low voltage AC distribution;special challenges to operational safety, power quality, reliability, especially focus on the open circuit fault identification techniques and reason for power outages were discussed. Further, the major impact as a result of the overhead power distribution line gets terminated, and earthing of live wire may electrocute the living things and affects public safety were discussed. Finally, the characteristics and requirements that are to be considered for these fault identification techniques are discussed for line termination in LT (230v/415v) power distribution.

The network which is able to accommodate today’s real-time need is growing in a very fast manner. But simultaneously also occurs an increase in the rate of network attacks and threats. distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is one of the attacks in which intruder attempts to disrupt normal network traffic by flooding huge traffic into the network and ultimately halt the network services and resources. There are numerous solutions available for the detection and prevention of DDoS attacks in traditional networks but making use of Software-Defined Security (SDS) is a new way of securing the network. The basic principle of separating the intelligence of the network from the infrastructure can be considered as the new hope for securing the network. This chapter aims to provide the need for SDS in networks with related literature survey we have also found out the research gaps from research done till now or going on. A method to prevent a network from DDoS attacks is also proposed using SDS. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Automated detection of abnormal events in processes in real time is an urgent and important task. To identify various kinds of anomalies, various Data Mining methods are often used. Often, to obtain high accuracy of the analysis, preliminary training is required using a large amount of data and representative samples. However, it is not always possible to obtain a representative sample of various kinds of anomalies from real sources. This paper proposes an approach to modeling datasets generated by distributed heterogeneous monitoring systems.

Autonomous vehicle is the topic that gains a lot of attentions in recent years. To enable autonomous vehicle, a huge amount of data needs to be collected and processed. One of the most promising method to improve the accuracy of data collection is using vehicle communication. With the help of vehicle communication, controlling and warning signal can be transmitted between vehicles. Consequently, necessary information such as identity, position, speed, moving direction, future behavior can be obtained with higher accuracy. This paper focuses on a type of vehicle communication system called optical camera communication. One of the most important components of optical camera communication system is image processing. In this paper, a deep learning-based image processing algorithm is proposed for optical camera communication used for proactive data collecting system for autonomous vehicle. The experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve much higher performance compared to its counterparts.

In this paper, differential orbit equation of the object is derived that undergoes rotational and translational motion with the effect of the drag oscillation, under the influence of central force field in cylindrical-polar coordinates. Further, it is shown that the magnitude of central force is the function of the radial distance and is not dependent on tangential oscillations. This determines that the drag oscillations do not have any effect on the central character of force. Due to this, one can examine that the system is torque free and conservative. Using the Euler–Lagrange equation of motion, the expression of radial energy is derived for the considered case. Also, one can see how the energy is distributed individually for the rotational motion and for perpendicular vibrations. The expression for the total energy of the system is in the form of summation of radial energy and oscillating energy possessed by the system. © 2021, The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

As the IoT incorporates large number of devices with different heterogeneous end systems, the software involved with these systems to run those algorithms and establishing the connections in the network with the help of various protocols is quite complex. With a wide range of diverse devices involved in the system, the design of the architecture should be carefully chosen for providing reliability as well as the scalability. The architecture may be different for various distributed systems located remotely like smart homes, agriculture, enterprise applications, manufacturing, energy management and monitoring of environment. One such architecture is fog. As the information is exchanged among these devices, keeping the information private and providing security by denying the access to un-authorized users is essential. In this article the intermodal terminal designing method has been presented. The technologies of FlexiWaggon and CargoBeamer were put in the center of attention. Thanks to given assumptions the values of parameters in the proposed algorithm of the designing method have been calculated. Than the comparison of the results was possible. As a consequence it has been proved that modern RO-RO (Roll-on/Roll-off) technologies can be a reasonable alternative for traditional solutions such as road transport or LO-LO (Lift-on/Lift-off) technology. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper introduces a novel competitive mechanism into differential evolution (DE), presenting an effective DE variant named competitive DE (CDE). CDE features a simple yet efficient mutation strategy: DE/winner-to-best/1. Essentially, the proposed DE/winner-to-best/1 strategy can be recognized as an intelligent integration of the existing mutation strategies of DE/rand-to-best/1 and DE/cur-to-best/1. The incorporation of DE/winner-to-best/1 and the competitive mechanism provide new avenues for advancing DE techniques. Moreover, in CDE, the scaling factor F and mutation rate Cr are determined by a random number generator following a normal distribution, as suggested by previous research. To investigate the performance of the proposed CDE, comprehensive numerical experiments are conducted on CEC2017 and engineering simulation optimization tasks, with CMA-ES, JADE, and other state-of-the-art optimizers and DE variants employed as competitor algorithms. The experimental results and statistical analyses highlight the promising potential of CDE as an alternative optimizer for addressing diverse optimization challenges. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Object recognition is a necessary task for many areas of technology, such as robot navigation or the intelligent reconstruction of environments in order a robot can interact with these objects. This article presents an architecture that integrates distributed heterogeneous information to recognise objects. The architecture uses devices that can process sensory data locally to send information to other devices. In order to perform data processing actions, the devices must have a layer of intelligent connectivity. These devices are called Smart Resources that offer to the distributed nodes the processed sensor data by means of information services. To validate the architecture, a system with two smart resources, equipped with different sensors, has been implemented. Experiments carried out show that it is better to select objects as soon as possible to improve the object recognition rate. Consequently, in the distributed system, devices should, when possible, deliver the process in advance.
