This paper presents an analysis of potential threats to information transmission in a GSM-R system, including technical factors, human factors and organizational factors. Modern telecommunications systems are exposed to a variety of hazards variable in time. In this paper, they are divided into three underlying groups: hardware and software related, intentional and unintentional as well as internal and external. The role of risk assessment in information security management is presented. Distinct phases of risk assessment process are characterized. Methods used in the process of risk assessment and risk planning are discussed, taking into account possible responses to threats and opportunities. Lastly, an original method for identifying threats and detecting vulnerabilities in railway radio communication systems is presented. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The Internet is the darling of the information age. Its rapid development has brought a lot of wealth to the society, but it has also brought about increasingly serious security problems. In particular, the widespread application of e-commerce has made network security the most important part of the development of network technology. Network security technology is increasingly valued by computer researchers. Most of the existing security products are passive. The firewall can only be statically disabled. Although the Intrusion Detection System can dynamically detect the intrusion behavior, it cannot block the detected attack behavior. However, the impact of the intrusion prevention system on network performance and the high intrusion detection false alarm rate restrict the development and application of the IPS system. Especially on gigabit high-speed networks, performance has become the primary bottleneck of IPS systems. In view of the above problems, this paper proposes a distributed intrusion detection and blocking system that can run efficiently on high-speed networks. Such systems are also known as intrusion prevention systems IPS. Explain the structure of distributed high-speed network intrusion prevention system, and also introduce the related implementation technology and the realization of each part of distributed intrusion prevention system.

The increase in electricity demand has given the distributed Generation (DG) technology a boost in the power system. DG units are increasing expeditiously and majority of them are connected with distribution network in order to feed power in the local load and network as well. However, in order to do the maximum utilization of DGs few issues have to be discussed. Islanding condition is a standout amongst the most vital issue in this context. This paper discusses the various anti-islanding protection methods followed by a comparison between one of the active method with its improved variant on the basis of certain parameter.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the 21st century’s fastest-growing technology. Nearly by the end of 2025, 75 billion IoT devices will be get connected to the internet. As a result, safeguarding devices from attacks and maintaining user privacy-related data has become extremely difficult. In this paper, we propose an efficient model to detect security and privacy related threats in IoT environment using different machine learning and deep learning algorithms on open-source standard dataset like NSL-KDD (Knowledge Discovery Data) and UNSW-NB15, which were made accessible for conducting research activities purposes. Here we analyzed the feature set of the data required to detect various threats mentioned in the given dataset using proposed model. This paper examines the binary and multiclass attacks classification using neural network and machine learning approaches. RNN model outperformed with higher accuracy in detecting threats with 99.4 percent for binary classification and 96.2 percent for multiclass classification.

The article presents a subjective assessment of the takeover of steering control by drivers in vehicles with conditional autonomy. The assessment of both the process of taking control and the feeling of safety during autonomous driving was made on the basis of surveys. The questionnaires were supplemented by drivers of a passenger car after the end of the journey. The key role in the case of test scenarios was played by signals of various modalities informing the driver about the need to take control of the vehicle. The research results presented in the article refer to the effectiveness of signals with different modalities in the subjective assessment of the subjects. The obtained results indicate a varied reception of modality among the age groups and people with different levels of driving skills. High safety level assessment during autonomous driving may indicate a high level of confidence in autonomous vehicles, especially for people over 55 and experienced drivers. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This conceptual paper discusses how different aspects involving the autonomous operation of robots and vehicles will change when they have access to next-generation mobile networks. 5G and beyond connectivity is bringing together a myriad of technologies and industries under its umbrella. High-bandwidth, low-latency edge computing services through network slicing have the potential to support novel application scenarios in different domains including robotics, autonomous vehicles, and the Internet of Things. In particular, multi-tenant applications at the edge of the network will boost the development of autonomous robots and vehicles offering computational resources and intelligence through reliable offloading services. The integration of more distributed network architectures with distributed robotic systems can increase the degree of intelligence and level of autonomy of connected units. We argue that the last piece to put together a services framework with third-party integration will be next-generation low-latency blockchain networks. Blockchains will enable a transparent and secure way of providing services and managing resources at the Multi-Access Edge computing (MEC) layer. We overview the state-of-the-art in MEC slicing, distributed robotic systems and blockchain technology to define a framework for services the MEC layer that will enhance the autonomous operations of connected robots and vehicles.

The article presents the concept of using graph theory to describe the infrastructure of the signalling system, in accordance with the assumptions of the MAP-WP design automation method. The principles of formalization of the system structure based on TU and TS graphs describing the structure of the track system division into areas controlled by internal signalling device sets and the structure of external connections between internal signalling device sets are presented. The MAP-WP method generates many variants of the system structure depending on the number of controlled areas, network topology, location of the control room relative to the station track system, and then selects a variant that meets the requirements for the availability and reliability of the structure. Confirmation that the structure meets specific requirements is possible thanks to the analysis of edge and tip coherence of the TU and TS graphs representing it. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Knitwear is the second largest product category in the traditional clothing industry. The traditional clothing product supply chain is difficult to meet consumer's demand of fast fashion. AI and industrial Internet technology, together with intelligent knitting equipments make C2M flexible supply chain possible through digitization. distributed cloud factory is built as regional node of production supported by digital twin and parallel intelligence. Personalized needs of end consumers can be quickly responded, and the cost is close to traditional large-scale assembly line. Parallel manufacturing applies industrial robots, Internet of things, cloud computing, AR and AI technologies comprehensively to build virtual factory in Cloud that carries out decision-making and management simultaneously, with highly automated production equipments in workshop. Meanwhile, it combines with smart knitting factories to build a global distributed collaborative production management platform based on parallel manufacturing architecture system through virtual reality interaction, distributed manufacturing, managed and controlled through Cloud. intelligent upgrading of traditional knitting industry can effectively improve labor productivity, reduce production cost and number of employees.

Telematics, as a set of technical solutions, has become an essential element of transport infrastructure and equipment of various means of transport. The introduction of new technical solutions in transport requires determining the impact of these solutions on the process of managing and controlling transport. With regard to transport safety, the research problem is to estimate the value of indicators characterizing safety. One of the research methods may be modeling, which allows to check various scenarios at the design and implementation stages. The article analyzes two examples of transport systems equipped with telematics systems. The analysis of the results shows that the use of additional telematics solutions improves the safety indicators. The proposed mathematical apparatus makes it possible to estimate the numerical values of safety. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The aim of this article is to clarify, why the curvatures’ bends at the terminal points of optimum railway transition curves (TCs) obtained by the authors have a relatively small negative impact on vehicle dynamics while running along such curves. In this context the authors put forward the following research hypothesis. Maybe bigger length of the middle zone causes that shape of the terminal zones has become less important. The idea of the research was to modify quality function calculation so that initial and end zones have bigger weights (importance) than the middle zone. At present stage the central part of TC was completely ignored in the quality function calculation. Two dynamical quantities being the results of simulation of railway vehicle dynamical model were exploited in the determination of the quality functions. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
