Edge computing is the key to building 5G Networks and Future 2030 Networks. Edge computing extends the cloud computing paradigm by placing resources close to the network edges to cope with the upcoming growth of connected devices. Future applications: health monitoring and predictive services within the framework of the Smart City, Internet of things (IoT), vehicular ad hoc network, autonomous vehicles present a new set of strict requirements, such as low latency. In this paper, we develop a set of methods for managing and orchestrating new intelligent services in a new network and computing infrastructure. In addition, we consider a new prototype using an orchestration system for managing the autonomous vehicles' resources in comparison with the existing approaches to the design of high-load networks. This orchestration platform is based on independent Docker containers that running the orchestration system. The main goal of our proposed system is to build an efficient network architecture with a minimum delay to process the information based on neural networks. Finally, simulation results proved that the proposed system can significantly not only reduce the overall network load but also increase the quality of the transmitted stream across the network in comparison with traditional network architectures. © 2020 ACM.

As of now we are in the 21^st century, where we find many technologies ruling the world, and the Internet of Things is one among them which can be defined as an intelligent node that was interconnected in a global infrastructure which helps to implement the connectivity of anything from anywhere at anytime and transferring of data over wireless network. Other than all the developments, human growth becomes liable to overwhelming and stopping difficulties which have been putting its existence in danger. And the issue of gathering trash been the main one. As the human population increases, and the lack of knowledge about the waste management system, increase the risk of pollution to the environment. The enormous measure of waste products is additionally a major danger to the environment. Disposing the Waste like wet, dry or biodegradable and non biodegradable which are getting dumped together are being the big deal in India right now. There was a large amount of plastics and other wastes were produced every year which are not currently carried out in any recycling plants. In order to provide a solution for these wastes and managing the wastes, we proposed a “Enhanced Smart waste management system with Incinerator compartment”, Where the wastes which may be located in either city or village, get monitored through sensors and programmed for informing the waste level status and transferred to the cloud.

In the last period in the world you can observe a very large interest in vehicles and autonomous transport systems. To the level of L5 autonomy (according to the SAE classification), it seems that we still have very far away (in the technological sense) and this technology according to various forecasts will be achieved in the perspective of 15–20 years with regard to motor vehicles. It is difficult to precisely define today which technical, IT and legal standards will be finally adopted. The authors of this work propose to define the concept of an autonomous vehicle a little differently. It will be understood as a car or track vehicle that can partially move without the participation of the driver and who can autonomously (without the participation of the driver) choose a route from the starting point to the destination. The concept of a track starts with a debatable character if, for example, it is determined by an IT system. The authors argue that a system with such features combines the features of systems: an autonomous vehicle at level L4 b and an extended PRT system. Polish cities (Rzeszów, Katowice, Lódź) have signed a letter of intent regarding the implementation of this system in Poland. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Nowadays, the increased agricultural production at a lower cost is more and more driven by the Internet of Things (IoT) and the cloud computing paradigms. Many researches and projects have been elaborated so far in this context. It aims at reducing human efforts as well as resources and power consumption. Such projects are mainly based on collecting various data pertaining to the agricultural area and sending it to the cloud for further analysis. However, the long distance between sensors/actuators and the cloud leads to a significant increase in latency, which leads to a decrease of performances of the irrigation systems, pesticide monitoring, etc. This paper presents an alternative solution based on Fog Nodes and LoRa technology to optimize the number of nodes deployment in smart farms. Our proposed solution reduces the total latency induced during data transmission toward the cloud for processing. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

Nowadays, intelligent mobile devices become most wide mobile multimedia terminals. But limited by performance and battery life, traditional audio architectures and algorithms cannot meet increasingly complex processing requirements. In this paper, the traditional audio convolution algorithm and audio architecture are analyzed. Based on the optimization of the block convolution algorithm, and combined with the cloud GPU, a dynamic task allocation low latency convolution algorithm is proposed under cloud hybrid systems. The experimental results show that the convolution algorithm can effectively reduce the workload of the mobile terminal, reduce the CPU usage of the mobile terminal, and realize the real-time audio mixing processing in complex scenes on mobile terminals with limited performance. © 2019 IEEE.

The article presents an analysis of exhaust emissions in vehicles with gasoline engines according to the most recent research procedures in RDE tests. The compliance of test parameters (on chosen test routes) was evaluated against the requirements of the standard and dynamic parameters were determined characterizing the trips (among others – the product of speed and positive acceleration). Time ranges of respective trips were analyzed in coordinates – vehicle’s speed vs acceleration;based on that a matrix was developed that allows for comparing trips not only based on averaged parameters (e.g. average speed, stoppage time, etc.) but also all conditions of the vehicle’s operation during the road test. The comparison of those parameters for tests carried out along various test routes and the identification of discrepancies provided grounds for the next step of the evaluation in which exhaust emissions in respective test phases (urban, rural and motorway parts) were compared. The result is a methodology for determining exhaust emissions in road tests of various route configurations in which the exhaust emissions intensity matrix for the vehicle and basic trip parameters, e.g. speed profile, are known. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The article elaborates upon a study of the phenomenon of microsleep in drivers operating means of collective public transport on a regular basis. The microsleep phenomenon has been observed as a rather common one among drivers in general, however, in the case of professional drivers operating public transport lines, this is particularly dangerous. The consequences it may trigger are not limited to traffic accidents, but may even include road traffic disasters. The study addressed in the article was conducted using the eye tracking technique supported by auxiliary testing apparatus, including systems of the authors’ own design and make. The study was conducted in operation of different means of collective transport on public transport lines in Poland. In one case, microsleep was studied in a driver of the EN57 passenger train, while the second case studied was that of a driver of the Solaris Urbino bus. The data retrieved from the measurements were processed using the SMI BeGaze 3.4 software. Results of the studies, subsequently processed in statistical terms, were used to formulate operational conclusions concerning the microsleep phenomenon and to define specific recommendations for drivers of means of collective public transport based on such grounds. The article also touches upon the matter of the values of parameters characterising the phenomena of microsleep and blinking, as previously commented in the literature of the subject. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Due to the rapid use of the internet, the distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is affected by E-Commerce, government, and private IT infrastructure. Intrusion Detection System is the best way to deal with the detection of DDoS attacks. In this paper, we focused on the feature selection process to improve the performance by the selection of important features. Information Gain with Ranker algorithm is used for the feature selection process. After the feature selection process, the proposed system uses Random Forest, J48, LMT (Logistic Model Tree) classifiers for the detection of the DDoS attack. The proposed system is tested with the help of CICIDS2017 dataset. The experimentation result shows that J48 classifier provides improved detection rate as compared to Random Forest and LMT with important features. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This article concerns Air Traffic Management (ATM) development concept arising from the constant and undeniable development of air transport. In Europe, the Single European Sky Air Traffic Research and Development (SESAR) project and Single European Sky (SES) idea are still valid and up to date. As a consequence, in 2014 one of the Commission Regulations introduced a project called ‘Pilot Common Project’, which identified the ATM functionalities to be implemented as part of the European Air Traffic Management Master Plan. The defined deployment target dates are approaching that is why it was decided to analyse the issue of ATM development. The paper starts with a short introduction giving the background identification and describing ATM functionalities listed in the ‘Pilot Common Project’. Then, due to the closest deployment date, particular attention was paid to the Flexible Airspace Management and Free Route functionality. In the following part of the publication the idea of free route airspace operations was presented – its definition, goal, important dates, boundaries as well as restrictions. Then risk analysis of its implementation using Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) was carried out. The obtained results were summed up and conclusions drawn in the last paragraph of the paper. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
