It is a well-known fact that most of the edges in an image can be spotted on the facial segments and they have a place on the image’s high-frequency components. Besides edges, another crucial feature for face matching is the texture. Therefore, both edges and texture can have significant contribution in extracting facial attributes and thus in human face recognition. This paper puts forward a novel edge–texture characteristic attribute for human face recognition based on the concept of radius of gyration face, which is invariant to changes in illumination, rotation and noise. The supremacy of the proposed approach in human face recognition is exhibited when its recognition accuracy is compared with other recent state-of-the-art techniques over challenging databases like CMU-PIE database, Extended Yale B database, AR database and CUFS database under varying conditions of illumination, noise, rotation and face sketch recognition. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

It is remarkable that the tremendous expansion in the world of cloud computing in recent times, and in light of the Covid 19 pandemic that hit the entire world, the challenge has become more difficult and the intense focus on moving to the world of cloud computing is a necessity not a luxury. Hence, the biggest and most difficult challenge from both sides emerged. Therefore, this study attempts to provide an intelligent search scope to meet the clients' needs in finding the best service provider for their financial capabilities at the right time. It also gives a greater opportunity for service providers to display their services more clearly, by introduce multi-agent framework with decision support approach and recommendation concept, also a proposed cloud service discovery testbed introduced with management tools and an efficient GUI dashboard.

Mobile data offloading is a cost-effective and promising approach to alleviate the burden of the cellular network. In this paper, we focus on designing a truthful incentive mechanism that the auction cloud platform motivates mobile users with deadline constraints and capacity constraints to offload data. First, we formulate the mobile data offloading problem as a reverse auction. Then, we reduce this social welfare maximization reverse auction for data offloading as an integer linear programming (ILP) problem. To solve this problem, we propose a data offloading auction greedy algorithm to choose the most cost-effective bids. We decompose the data offload auction greedy algorithm into the winner determination problem (WDP) and the threshold payment scheme. Moreover, we propose a delay winner winning algorithm based on the data offloading auction greedy algorithm. Extensive simulation experiments demonstrate that the data offloading auction mechanism dramatically reduces the burden of the cellular network while meeting the offloading tasks deadline constraints and mobile user capacity constraints. © 2019 IEEE.

The Multivariate time series prediction problem has always been an important and hot issue in the human society. This problem has attracting a large number of researchers to conduct related research. However, the time series data in the real world is highly complex and the data size is large, which brings great inconvenience and challenge to the research work. The RNN-based model made some great progress on the traditional Sequence to Sequence problem such as NLP nowadays. But using the RNN-based model to predict the multivariate time series data still have some problems. For example, the time series data in the real world usually has a certain periodicity, the RNN-based model is hard to capture the global information. In this paper, we propose a CNN-based model called LHCnn(Low-High Cnn). LHCnn combines the CNN with the Attention mechanisms. The model uses multi-layer CNNs to extract the surface and the deep features of the data. Then we combine these two kinds of features with the Attention mechanisms to produce the final prediction. We also train the model in parallel on multiple GPUs to accelerate the training process. In the final part of this paper, we discuss the effort of real-time series data in the experiment, and then proved that this model not only can ensure reliability and stability, but also can achieve higher accuracy. Analyzing working principle of many time series sequencing models and comparing them each other, this one is better than others right now. © 2019 IEEE.

In the 21st century, the advancements of computing, Internet of Things and wireless communications are enabling mining companies to collect a vast amount of datasets during risk management. Multipurpose sensors installed at many locations in underground mining environment provide data about the safety, security and mine conditions in near realtime. However, it is more important to convert this data into strategic intelligence, which means the communication of the right information to the right people at the right time to enable them to make optimal and informed decisions on risk control and process optimization. The sterkfontein caves is a world heritage site, and over the past few years, some deformation was recorded inside the caves. Possible reasons include urbanization in the surrounding area, illegal dolomite mining in the past, weathering, man-made archaeological activities and continuous pouring of polluted and acidic water into the caves system. Acid water has high potential to dissolve the sensitive dolomite, create new and enlarge existing rock cavities, which can destabilize rock formations. The Wits Mining Institute (WMI) has installed a geotechnical and geo-environmental wireless sensor network inside the caves for monitoring and to gain a better understanding of deformation in a cave system. In this research, data analytics and visualization concepts have been applied to the data collected from the sensors in order to identify the trends or patterns inside the caves. Several dashboards have been developed to analyze and visualize the ground movement, wind velocity, temperature, humidity and toxic gases (carbon monoxide) using Tableau code. The data from ground movement monitoring sensors placed at different locations can be analyzed and visualized in relation to each other and in different time steps (minutes to hours, daily, weekly, monthly and/or yearly basis). New generation networks belong to the class of big sophisticated heterogeneous hierarchical geographically distributed systems. Their functional characteristics, defining reliability, are the main characteristics which provide the application of these networks for their intended purpose. The paper offers the method of on-line functional monitoring of technical states of the new generation network elements based on application of a hierarchical fuzzy logical inference. The method and the generalized algorithm of on-line functional monitoring of technical states are developed. For realization of the offered method, the technology of intelligent agents is used. The functional structure of the intelligent agent is offered. The order of its interaction with a network element is considered. Results of modeling have shown a high efficiency of the offered approach. The possibility of the hardware-software realization of the offered method and algorithm a near real time mode is shown.

A model complex and algorithms for assessing the technical condition (TC) and reliability of the launch vehicle (LV) "Soyuz-2" with the decision support (DS) for managing its life cycle (LC) is considered in the article. On the basis of the analysis of modern problems and the requirements for the efficiency, quality and reliability of the assessment of the LV and the reliability of LV, it was concluded that it is necessary to use the new intelligent information technology (IIT), presented in the article, when designing the automated monitoring systems of the condition and DS for managing the LC LV "Soyuz-2". As a theoretical basis for this technology, the modification of the generalized computational model (GCM) as a knowledge representation model, allowing to build simulation-analytical model-based complexes for monitoring conditions and managing complex organizational and technical objects (COTO), is considered.

An essential function of the spread sensor network is time synchronization. This paper presents a novel iterative node-pair time synchronization (INTS) algorithm that assists the sensor nodes in collaborating with the anchor node in synchronizing its clock. Even though the clocks on anchor and the sensor nodes are presumed to set to the universal time, they invariably have a different offset. However, in the present formulation, we make a simplifying assumption that all the anchor clocks and all the sensor clocks run at the same speed and taken as one. The varying clock offsets could lead to inconsistencies in data gathering in a distributed environment. A synchronization mechanism for a global ordering of the packets generated at different nodes is essential. Bounded but variable delays during the exchange of message packets between the sensor nodes prevent the determination of the exact clock offsets between the anchor transmitting node and the senor receiving nodes. Our algorithm tries to handle this problem by limiting the uncertainty bounds to minimum application-specific value by an iterative method.
