Electrocardiography plays an essential role in diagnosing and screening cardiovascular diseases in daily healthcare. Deep neural networks have shown the potentials to improve the accuracies of arrhythmia detection based on electrocardiograms (ECGs). However, more ECG records with ground truth are needed to promote the development and progression of deep learning techniques in automatic ECG analysis. Here we propose a web-based tool for ECG viewing and annotating, LabelECG. With the facilitation of unified data management, LabelECG is able to distribute large cohorts of ECGs to dozens of technicians and physicians, who can simultaneously make annotations through web-browsers on PCs, tablets and cell phones. Along with the doctors from four hospitals in China, we applied LabelECG to support the annotations of about 15,000 12-lead resting ECG records in three months. These annotated ECGs have successfully supported the First China ECG intelligent Competition. LabelECG will be freely accessible on the Internet to support similar researches, and will also be upgraded through future works. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Network traffic measurement provides scientific basis for designing, building, and managing the next generation Internet, and is especially important for monitoring network behavior. There are many challenges in high-speed network traffic measurement. One of the most important bottlenecks is traffic capturing. Because of hardware capability and operating system overhead limitations, the existing network traffic measurement tools based on software can only perform well at low speed network with the link rate below 100Â Mbps. This paper mainly focuses on the key issue to perform traffic capture for high-speed network based on software. To achieve this point, distributed network traffic measurement system is discussed, and a traffic capture prober was designed under general PC server with Linux operating system. We also analyze crucial problems on prober’s implementation, building an experiment environment and running tests on it. The results show that our system satisfies all requirements imposed by real time measuring network traffic behavior. Furthermore, the performance of traffic capture has been improved significantly and can capture/process nearly all packets at line speed under Gigabit network. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

Systems for automated technical diagnostics of promising complex distributed information systems, often with critical properties of application, as well as actively added agent properties of autonomy, mobility, intelligence, and cooperativity, should ensure their complete real-time testing. Moreover, the online testing should be carried out both for the static hardware-software and information environment of the system location, and for the dynamic aggregate of information-check flows corresponding to the main functions and scenarios of its work. This paper discusses a multi-level method of behavioral online testing, based on a multi-level model for check of behavior of hierarchical Petri nets. The check model allows us to present both the active processes of the basic functioning of the static environment for placing distributed information systems and dynamic information and control flows in it, as well as passive processes of behavioral online testing of the environment and flows. The proposed online testing method differs in the background hierarchical organization of the temporal development of processes and check flows with evolutionary optimization based on multi-agent organization and space-time decomposition and distribution in the hosting environment. The behavioral online testing method allows defining the main verification procedures and its preparation, reducing the time and resources costs due to the evolutionary search and multi-agent decomposition of the control analysis, which is important for real-time verification.

In now a day, the data in real time is increasing exponentially. This data is generating from every corner of the earth viz., social networks, sensors mainly from IoT (trending technology), e-commerce site, GPS signals etc. This data may be in form of structured, semi-structured or unstructured. Currently, tech companies, for example, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, YouTube and Google handle big data sets around terabytes or petabytes of data per day. Therefore, this data is to be analyzed or processed. It is not easy to process the whole data. The first solution to such big data problems is Hadoop. Hadoop uses Hadoop distributed File System (HDFS) to store the data. Though Hadoop gives solution to big data problems, it takes more time to produce the results. The most important constraint in this 21st century is time. In this paper, acceleration of Hadoop using Apache Ignite Filesystem that acts in in-memory instead of HDFS.

Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) as a radio access technology for the cellular Internet of Things (cIoT) is getting more traction due to attractive system parameters, new proposals in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 14 for reduced power consumption and ongoing world-wide deployment. As per 3GPP, the low-power and wide-area use cases in 5G specification will be addressed by the early NB-IoT and Long-Term Evolution for Machines (LTE-M) based technologies. Since these cIoT networks will operate in a spatially distributed environment, there are various challenges to be addressed for tests and measurements of these networks. To meet these requirements, unified emulated and field testbeds for NB-IoT-networks were developed and used for extensive performance measurements. This paper analyses the results of these measurements with regard to RF coverage, signal quality, latency, and protocol consistency.

Enterprise information retrieval is quite challenging than web based information retrieval due to retrieval from heterogeneous distributed data sources and need for higher accuracy in retrieval [17]. Large corpus of data from heterogeneous information sources available as distributed systems make querying for most relevant and updated information in less number of trials. Similar users tend to prefer similar search results. Applying three dimensions of user similarity, user-document search history and document similarity, collaborative information fusion based retrieval is proposed in this work. The Fuzzy method for mapping document and search queries, to concept is proposed and using it the similarity between documents is modeled. Active feedback based search result revision is proposed to get highly relevant results in less number of trials.

In recent years, Virtual Learning has gained wide popularity among the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to promote holistic education. Reviews have proven that Virtual Learning has proliferated over the years and it has created a dynamic learning culture among the 21st Century learners. These young learners from the digital age have different learning styles and vernaculars as they are much more diverse. It is also noted that it is challenging to keep these learners engaged in learning due to those differences. Therefore, it is vital to identify a learning tool that caters to these young learners from a diverse background and simultaneously optimize their learning satisfaction. To address these momentous issues, this research study aims to identify the design factors or specifications of a Virtual Agent (VA) deployed in the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to maximize learner’s satisfaction. In this exploratory study, the researchers have adapted Kansei Engineering (KE) approach that uses the quantitative analysis to identify the design factors of Virtual Agent. The respondents are undergraduate students from a HEI in Malaysia (N=107). The findings suggest that KE modus operandi had successfully paved the way for an effective design of VA that has high aesthetic value and identified attractiveness and expertness as key factors in VA design. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

Deviations between electric current measurements and reality can cause severe problems in the power train of electric vehicles (EVs). Among others, these are unnecessary power limitations and inaccurate performance coordination during driving or charging. One reason for these deviations are time delays. In this paper, we present three different approaches for time delay estimation (TDE) and evaluate these with real data from power trains of EVs. Besides the accuracy of the TDE, the focus of our evaluation lies on the computational efficiency to enable an execution on automotive electronic control units (ECUs). The Linear Regression approach suffers even from small noise and offsets in the measurement data and is unsuited for our purpose. A better alternative is the Variance Minimization approach. It is not only more noise-resistant but also very efficient after the first execution. Another interesting approach are Adaptive Filters presented by Emadzadeh et al. Unfortunately, Adaptive Filters do not reach the accuracy and efficiency of Variance Minimization in our experiments. Thus, we recommend Variance Minimization for TDE of current signals in the power train of EVs.

With the development of science and technology in the 21st century, most areas of people's lives have been gradually covered by intelligence, and the substation's intelligence has become the main research direction for the power system. intelligent substations have emerged, and they are now becoming more and more important. The more welcomed by the power system construction, the intelligent substation is mainly an intelligent device. Compared to the traditional substations and the old generation of intelligent substations, the new generation of intelligent substations can enhance the intelligence and integration of substations and enhance the stability as well as safety of substation operation. A new generation of intelligent stations is divided into equipment layer and station control layer. The data collected by the electronic transformers are directly uploaded to the server. The data is further processed by the virtual machines that are virtualized by the server. The new generation of intelligent substations has only one network. A network B network composition. Acoustic (video) monitoring units are added, and the information they collect is uploaded to the master station. The actual working conditions of the various equipment in the substation can be analyzed more directly. © 2018 IEEE.

The objective of the paper is to analyzed QoS metric of cloud computing with large-scale of web server from queue management perspective. We propose a new method in order to effectively calculate the steady-state probabilities of cloud system with a large number of web servers. Numerical results showed that the proposed algorithms have higher accuracy and negligible computation time. Taking into account that in the cloud computing repair of server is taking some hours and response time is handling within some seconds, we can correctly apply space-merging algorithm.
