In the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision (CV), there is a rising demand for complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensors to process visual information. This paper introduces a CMOS image sensor (CIS) architecture designed to ameliorate the limitation of fixed kernel size of on-chip image filtering by utilizing column-shared CIS circuits. We present the overall architecture and provide details of the working principle of the proposed CIS. The pixel and the associated column-shared circuit are designed and simulated in a 1-poly 6-metal 0.18-mu m CMOS process. The presented work paves the path for making CIS architectures more versatile and resolves the kernel size problem in existing solutions.

SolarSense is a self-powered sensing system for gesture recognition using solar cell arrays, thereby offering a sustainable approach to human-computer interaction (HCI) within industrial settings. The system effectively employed the sensing and energy harvesting capabilities of solar cells, achieving over 97.0% accuracy in recognizing diverse gestures. The design incorporates a low-power wireless data acquisition chip, a signal processing framework, and a user interface to realize robotic control and text input applications. SolarSense enhances HCI with its eco-friendly and user-centric approach, which is suitable for Internet of things (IoT) scenarios. Demo: https://***/RmPolChw_c4.

In today's world of pandemic era, it is important to develop new ways of e-learning. E-learning is also associated with finding creative innovation as a part of digital learning, which includes a variety of IT tools as multimedia and smart tools. The article is focused on preparing and implementing innovative tools in computer science teaching. computer science teaching is traditionally based on explicit exact knowledge. It leads to memorizing the steps or searching the ready solutions on websites from the students' side. In the article, we analyse the problems of computer science teaching online and the experience of using a few innovative elements in e-learning courses last year. Based on gained experience we choose appropriate tools for collaboration, interactivity, tools that record the sequence of steps, and tools for creating scenarios, focusing on gamification in teaching. The aim of the article comes from such experience and shows examples of how to implement multimedia and tools in a creative way for algorithmization and programming. We also try to use the interaction with the chatbot, which responds directly to the students' suggestions and helps them with basic terms. The specific results of our analyses and practical use are discussed and supported with figures. © 2024 IEEE.

Cloud-native technologies have been widely adopted, enabling organizations to build scalable, observable, resilient, and secure software systems within cloud environments. However, the rapid evolution of these technologies and the multitude of available tools present challenges to architects and developers in staying informed and making optimal choices for achieving the described qualities. While scientific literature summarizes quality attributes (QAs) and their corresponding cloud-native architectural patterns and tactics, it does not generally describe how qualities are achieved through the adoption of specific implementation practices and tools. To address this gap, we conducted a multivocal review of scientific papers, books, standards, and related grey literature. Through thematic analysis, we identified and organized cloud-native practices, tools, and related QAs. Our findings resulted in a map that comprises 15 high-level cloud-native practices that link to 87 specific sub-practices and 171 associated tools for addressing 8 desirable system qualities. © 2025 IEEE.

This research presents a sophisticated technological framework for Cross-Chain Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and Smart Contract systems by seamlessly integrating Markov Models, Brownian Motion, and Stationary Processes. Focused on enhancing the adaptability and efficiency of financial interactions across interconnected blockchain networks, this framework establishes the foundational elements necessary for dynamic system modeling. The incorporation of Markov Models captures state transitions, Brownian Motion models random fluctuations, and Stationary Processes ensure statistical stability. The paper explores the technological implications of these stochastic processes, addressing challenges in system interoperability, latency, and security within decentralized financial ecosystems. Envisioning a future where decentralized systems are optimized and resilient, the research investigates advancements in blockchain protocol design, consensus mechanisms, and transaction validation strategies. The proposed framework, influenced by the dynamic and statistical nature of Brownian Motion and Stationary Processes, underscores the need for robust data structures, real-time data feeds, and decentralized oracle networks. This research invites collaboration from the blockchain, smart contract, and stochastic modeling communities to contribute to the ongoing exploration and refinement of this powerful technological framework, poised to reshape the landscape of cross-chain financial technologies. © 2024 IEEE.

The VHF Band III spectrum (174-230 MHz), recognized for its low utilization, was opened by the FCC in 2002 for opportunistic use by communication technologies. This paper presents a quantitative analysis of the availability of VHF Band III for cognitive radio CR access in Malaysia. Measurements were conducted over a week in 18 Malaysian cities to analyze spectrum utilization and received signal strength, alongside the impact of broadcasts from neighboring countries. The findings highlight actual utilization patterns and reveal the spectrum's potential for opportunistic access, especially post-digital switchover (DSO). © 2025 IEEE.
