Obtaining realistic fire images using deep learning models and recent versions of Generative adversarial networks (GAN) has been proven to be a difficult task due to the unnatural appearance of the generated results. This paper provides a novel approach based on StarGANv2 to generate fire kernels from any input provided as a reference. In addition, a deep learning-based image blending technique performs the migration of the fire kernels to the target scenes. By using any input as a reference, the generated fire image could be controlled to accommodate different environmental factors, resulting in a diverse but equally pseudo-real synthetic dataset. The proposed method generates images that achieve better FID and LPIPS values than StarGANv2 for both a public dataset (AI Hub) and a privately-owned dataset (Visionin). In addition, YOLOv4 is used as a fire detection model to evaluate the synthetic data on improving the performance of the detected network. Compared to the model trained on the real data, the model trained on the combined dataset outperforms 2%~14% higher.

User comments are one of the main ways for IT companies to obtain software evolution requirements. There are two major methods used to classify the software requirements: the traditional user requirements mining method and the user comments requirements mining. The advantage of traditional user requirements mining is that it can communicate with users face to face, but it is time consuming and the results may not be accurate. Therefore, in this paper, we use the user comments requirements mining method to compare the labeling effect of classification methods on the data set of 19,673 comments. The experimental results show that the combination of TF-IDF and logistic regression (LR) works best on the labeled dataset. This experiment combined with word cloud map has excellent effect on obtaining user requirements.

Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are low-and-slow attack patterns and difficult to detect due to their strong concealment. Recently, provenance-based method demonstrates promising prospect in APT detection. However, existing approaches suffer from following several limitations. First, rule-based models heavily rely on domain-specific knowledges and sophisticated matching mechanism from rules to system logs. Second, current anomaly-based techniques require attack-free data to train model and hard to acquire fine-grained detection results to locate attack events. An important reason for undermining the detection capacity of model is the notorious dependency explosion problem and data imbalance problem. Both of problems make the vector representations of benign events and attack events similar, therefore, the model can not differentiate them well. In this paper, we propose DeepDist, which can enhance the entity vector representation by contrastive learning. In this way, we force the projection of benign and attack entities into different feature regions to improve the detection ability of the model. Then we correlate these detected entities to constitute attack events. During our evaluation against thirteen real APT attack scenarios of two datasets, DeepDist shows the detection results with high accuracy.

In code review, generating structured and relevant comments is crucial for identifying code issues and facilitating accurate code changes that ensure an efficient code review process. Well-crafted comments not only streamline the code review itself but are also essential for subsequent tasks like code refinement, where the code is modified to satisfy the input review comment. Although various AI-based approaches aimed to automate comment generation, their effectiveness remains limited by the quality of the training data. Existing code review datasets are often noisy and unrefined, posing limitations to the learning potential of AI models and hindering the automation process. To address these challenges, we propose a curation pipeline designed to enhance the quality of the largest publicly available code review dataset. We begin by establishing an evaluation framework, incorporating specific criteria and categories to empirically study the initial quality of the dataset. Using a large language model (LLM)-driven approach, we then apply our curation pipeline to refine the dataset. A comparative analysis of the newly curated dataset, based on the same evaluation framework, demonstrates substantial improvements in the clarity and conciseness of the comments. Additionally, we assess the impact of the curated dataset on automating downstream tasks, specifically comment generation and code refinement. Our findings show that the curated dataset leads to enhanced model performance in generating more accurate comments. Curated comments are also more useful as they lead to more accurate code refinement.

The quadruped robot applying the expert skill learning system can learn and generate adaptive skills from a group of representative expert skills, screen and master these combined skills through deep reinforcement learning, so as to select different skills in different environments to move in stranger environment. This approach leverages the advantages of trained expert skills and the fast online synthesis of adaptive policies to generate responsive motor skills during the changing tasks. The cable tunnel unmanned inspection quadruped robot is equipped with a 5-DOF mechanical arm with a sensor module on the top to realize the cable condition detection. The combination of the intelligent sensors can make the robot obtain the ability of environment perception similar to human beings, so that the quadruped robot can complete the instructions safely and accurately in the cable tunnel environment, collect and analyse the environment and cable condition parameters, find problems and give feedback in time. © 2021 The Institution of engineering and Technology.

Optical text recognition models are widely applied in document processing systems. However, a high-quality text recognition model usually requires large number of samples, extensive amount of time and computation resources. In this paper, we propose a few-shot learning framework for unsegmented text recognition, which comprises of a conventional encoder-decoder recognition module, as well as a generative module for convolutional feature generation. In the meta-training stage, a base model for general text recognition and feature vector generation is trained with large synthesized text image dataset. In the meta-testing stage, the base model is adjusted with a small number of authentic samples. With the complementation of synthesized feature vectors, the base model is adapted to the target dataset distribution. The proposed framework only requires a few authentic samples. It is both data- and timeefficient in adapting existing models to new target datasets. Experimental results on authentic datasets used in industrial applications show that the proposed meta-testing approach outperforms conventional transfer learning by up to 5.84%.

In traffic-based tracking scenes, acknowledging category diversity and visual field motion is pivotal. This leads tracking models to prioritize multi-category feature learning, motion analysis, and extended time series modeling rather than singularly focusing on attribute acquisition and background modeling. With this goal in mind, we construct a tracking model by integrating re-identification branches into a lightweight detection model. Simultaneously, we establish an inter-frame spatio-temporal attention mechanism using the Feature Transfer Module. This mechanism aligns the current frame features with the corresponding local features of the previous frame, which can bolster feature representation and downstream task performance. Experimental results on the traffic dataset validate the efficacy of the proposed approach in addressing challenges such as occlusion and deformation within traffic scenes. The proposed method attains a significant 31.5 MOTA and 35.7 AP on the BDD100K dataset with random data selection.

With the rapid development of smart manufacturing, existing microservice deployment strategies based on the TCP protocol tend to encounter problems such as network latency, excessive header length, and port exhaustion in high concurrency scenarios. MQTT Broker can relay data between microservices, effectively alleviating these issues. However, the communication overhead of the Broker is significantly related to its deployment and the dependency of microservices. An appropriate deployment solution can significantly improve service quality. To address this issue, this paper models the deployment of MQTT Broker and microservices as a graph with cycles. By introducing auxiliary variables, the NP-hard problem is transformed into a mixed-integer quadratic programming problem, improving problem-solving efficiency and optimizing the microservices deployment strategy to reduce communication overhead. Meanwhile, a real-world heterogeneous cluster was constructed to experiment on fault detection applications, elaborating on the superiority of the microservice deployment strategy designed in this paper. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach reduces communication overhead by 20% in comparison to both the greedy strategy and the K8s strategy. This suggests that achieving an optimal balance between the number of Brokers and microservices is vital for ensuring efficient resource utilization and maintaining low communication latency, particularly as the scale of services expands.
