Microfluidics operates flows of fluids on a micrometer scale. It offers more economically friendly solutions for universities as microfluidic chips cost orders of magnitude lower than conventional laboratory equipment. The "Lab on a Chip" approach offers easily reproducible solutions for simulating chemical processes in a microfluidic confinement. This paper describes development of experimental practicums with microfluidic tools for various chemical processes and their implementation to the education process of Master's degree students in Polymer engineering program. The following processes are realized: purification of polymer solutions, synthesis of nanoparticles from polymers and surfactants and control of polymer conformations. Within these practicums, students are involved in entire engineering cycle including all stages from design and fabrication of their experimental tools to final product characterization. They first apply fundamental physical and chemical aspects to the design of new microfluidic devices, then fabricate them, practice chemical processes in microfluidic chips and finally characterize products they obtained. The practicums are strongly interdisciplinary and students need to apply knowledge from physics, hydrodynamics, physical chemistry, polymer engineering and computer-aided design to successfully fabricate and work with microfluidic chips. Not limited to polymer engineering, these practicums are suitable for Master's students in materials science, nanotechnology and biotechnology.

Both design processes and the role of the designer in society are in constant transformation. Designers are involved in increasingly complex problems, performing tasks that go beyond technical perspectives and production processes. This means that education must prepare design and engineering students for an uncertain future. Within this context, design skills and creativity are considered tools that allow designers to meet the future challenges and requirements of education and the design profession. The starting point for this research is the definition of what current designers do to successfully perform the role they play in the field of design. An online survey has been created to compile data on these competences at an international scale, as well as a methodology to analyse them in the classroom. These tools were used in a class with 105 students and in two case studies with a small design company and a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The analysis tools were created and designed to give an understanding of the competences that designers have, from their own self-perception to the perception of their peers and professors or observers. The main contribution of this research is to improve self-reflection for students and young designers. In order to study the key technologies suitable for large-scale intelligent electric energy meter automatic verification, the discrete verification mode is discussed from three aspects of data interaction, scheduling control, and intelligent diagnosis. First, build an application architecture for automated verification data from the perspective of multi-dimensional perception, use WCF and MQ communication modes to build a data interaction architecture, and propose a feedforward feedback integrated control mechanism;second, based on the automated verification control architecture, establish a space-time vertical and horizontal scheduling control strategy;finally. According to the category of automatic verification equipment, classify abnormal / fault categories and establish a fault knowledge base. Based on the intelligent diagnosis process of "alarm-discovery-diagnosis-processing-learning"mechanism, build an intelligent diagnosis application framework. The proposed method effectively guarantees the accuracy and reliability of the interactive data, realizes the automatic verification of space-time cooperative operation, and can effectively improve the daily operation and maintenance efficiency of large-scale automated verification. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this study, a plurality of camera sensors distributed in the agricultural land was integrated into the Raspberry Pi, and photos were taken to observe whether the foliage of the crop was harmful or not. The image data were transmitted to the Alexnet, VGG-16 and VGG-19 convolutional nerves through deep learning methods. The network architecture extracts image features to detect the presence of pests and identifies the types of pests. Compared by the classification accuracy, training model and prediction time with a classifier based on a neural network, and a Support Vector Machine, the identified pest results will be immediately displayed on the farming management app as a timely epidemic prevention management of the farming.

Recommendation systems have played a large role in the Software engineering research landscape. Applications have ranged from source code elements, APIs and reviewer recommendations, with techniques borrowed from the Information Retrieval, and Machine learning domains. In recent times, there has been work into a new method of interaction, which is ChatBots, especially for Software engineering. Early work has been aimed at using bots for mining software repositories, providing task-oriented feedback for the software developer. In this work, we would like to take the ChatBots one step forward, but using them inconjunction with recommendation systems to provide an interactive experience for recommendations. As a case study, we focus on the existing reviewer recommendation systems, and propose how using a ChatBot may enhance the solution, to provide a more accurate and realistic recommendation for the practitioner. In the end, we highlight the potential and next steps to utilize ChatBots into existing Software engineering recommendation systems.

Suicide is one of the most common causes of unnatural death in Bangladesh. Suicide affects not only the person but also the surroundings as well. It always has been very enigmatic to analyze the risk of attempting suicide of any individual. As Bangladesh has vast social media users, data taken from social media along with health resources can play an important role to assess the risk of suicide attempts. By using natural language processing and deep learning techniques, an automated intelligence system can detect the possibilities of attempting suicide through social media and health data. This type of technology will be able to develop culture-specific and real-time suicide preventive systems to detect some social media users if they are at risk and can guide them to take medication or counselling according to their mental state. We will also study the privacy concern and ethical issues of this area of concern. © 2020 IEEE.

At the present stage of human society development, environmental literacy of population is becoming of major importance. This especially applies to graduates of engineering universities. Labor market demands such a specialist, who will not wait for instructions, but will enter into life with established creative, design-constructive and spiritual-personal experience, and it is such an environmental engineer who can be considered as professionally competent. The environmental competence of a future engineer is a holistic integrative ability of a specialist, which is ensuring his readiness to effectively solve problems related to natural resources management, the desire to mobilize professional competence, personal qualities based on the actualization of individual experience for the successful activities to protect the global environment in the process of professional functions performance. Unfortunately, despite the measures taken, the development level of future engineers' environmental competence leaves much to be desired. This defines the task of the scientific search, which is to answer the question: how to develop the environmental competence of future engineers in a technological university?

False data injection attack is an advanced class of modern cyber-attacks against the state estimation algorithm of the smart grid. Such attacks can inherently delude the bad data detectors at the control center and develop critical scenarios by corrupting the set of estimated states. This work furnishes an effective detection of such class of attacks with predefined bounds. The detection policy involves a robust, nonlinear deep learning approach that is capable of not only forecasting the operating states of the grid, but also can be effectively deployed by the operator to determine any attacks within the raw measurements. It is seen that such scalable models working in real-time promote a robust performance under measurement noise as well. The proposed model with its set of optimal hyper-parameters showcases a better state forecasting scheme with minimum error margin than most of the state of the art forecasting strategies. A diligent analysis on the IEEE 14 bus test system effectively promotes the aforementioned propositions.

The *** Curriculum should be based on the socioeconomic and cultural needs of the information society, on the demands of school policy, and on the reflection of transformations in the field of education and training. The key objective is to develop the curriculum in line with the demands of a knowledge-based economy. This economy needs qualified secondary school teachers who will be able to prepare the young generation for the technological demands of industry 4.0, for the labor market and for further education. The concept of development includes both the international dimension and the knowledge of the national system with the so-called dual system of education, i.e. the emphasis placed on intensive cooperation of secondary vocational schools and employers. Based on this knowledge, the traditional vision of preparing future teachers should be overcome and a future perspective should be predicted.
