Human beings are not completely rational;there is some irrationality, as well as bounded rationality, involved in the nature of human thinking. It has been shown through recent advances in quantum cognitive science that certain aspects of human irrationality, such as cognitive biases in the Kahneman-Tversky tradition, can be explained via mathematical models borrowed from quantum physics. It has also been shown in quantum cognitive science that human rationality exhibits a special sort of non-classical phenomenon as observed in quantum physics as well, namely the phenomenon of contextuality, which extends the notion of non-locality, what Einstein called "spooky action at a distance". In the present paper we elucidate and articulate the nature of human rationality and irrationality as observed in cognitive bias experiments and cognitive contextuality experiments. And we address the question whether nonhuman agents, such as animals and robots, can exhibit the same sort of cognitive biases and cognitive contextuality. Technically, we shed new light on these (quantum) cognitive experiments from the viewpoint of logic and category theory. We argue, inter alia, that the logic of cognition is substructural or monoidal, rather than Cartesian (which encompasses classical, intuitionistic, etc.), just as the logic of quantum mechanics and information is substructural or monoidal. The logic of reality is thus intertwined with the logic of cognition;the logical link between physical reality and the conscious mind would possibly allow us to go beyond the Cartesian dualism separating matter and mind as intrinsically different entities.

The ongoing aging of transformers in the power supply networks represents an increasing technical and financial risk for operators. Therefore, the knowledge of the aging condition of the asset is of elementary interest in order to be able to plan replacement and exchange measures in a time- and cost-optimized manner. Since the end of life of transformers is determined by the aging of the solid insulation, the DP value is considered to be an indicator of the aging of the entire asset. However, this can only be determined directly by paper sampling with the active part accessible, which limits its practicality. Therefore, in the past, the paper condition was estimated by means of furan derivatives. Another approach is to estimate the DP value using computer-aided methods based on other insulating oil characteristics. In this paper, the results of both estimation methods are compared with the actual DP values of real transformers to investigate the validity of this new approach. Additionally the measured furan concentration will be compared to the measured DP value from more than 50 operationally aged transformers.

In this paper a mathematical model that focuses at the very beginning of pandemic at Europe is presented. In essence it is assumed that once the virus arrived to Italy then the geographical propagation was done through probabilistic rules among then to Spain. Because of this the model of propagation of Feynman in conjunction to Wiener schemes have been used to model the displacement of virus from Wuhan to Milan as well from Milan to Spain, as seen at the end of 2019 triggering the beginning of European pandemic at January of 2020. As seen at official data Italy and Spain have presented same statistics at the first months of local pandemic. From the usage of the proposed formalism, it is found that the country data are following Gaussian-like distributions due to the space-time propagation of virus.

In this article, a new optimization technique called the Forensic-Based Investigation (FBI) Algorithm is applied for evaluating the parameters of single phase power transformers. The reports of the manufacturer's operation are used for the evaluation process. In this paper, the procedure of identifying the equivalent circuit parameters for the single transformer is based on the load test data in terms of input voltage, input power and load current. The main objective function of this study is proposed for reducing the error between the actual and the estimated parameters obtained using the proposed FBI algorithm. Further, the Forensic-Based Investigation algorithm is compared with PSO and jellyfish search (JS) optimizer algorithm. The results show that the proposed FBI technique has the best performance including the stability, superiority and convergence rapidly to solve the problem of the optimal parameters in single phase transformers compared with the PSO and JS algorithms.

Bad smell can be defined as structures in code that suggest the possibility of refactoring. In object-oriented languages such as C# and Java, Bad Smells are heavily exploited as a way to avoid potential software failures. The presence of a high number of bad smells in a software project makes the system maintenance and evolution hard. So, identifying smells in code and refactoring them helps to improve and maintain software quality. Anti-patterns are considered inadequate programming practices, but not an error, they are bad solutions to recurring software problems. In this work, we propose an exploratory study on open source projects written in C# and published in GitHub. We empirically analyzed a total of 25 projects, studying the prevalence of Bad Smells, in a quantitatively and qualitatively manner, and their relationship in order to identify possible anti-patterns. Our results showed that implementation smells are the most common. Besides, some smells occur together, such as Missing Default and Unutilized Abstraction that are perfectly correlated, and ILS and IMN detected by association rules. Thus, the proposed study aims to assist software developers in avoiding future problems during the development of C# projects. To assist Java programming educations, we have developed a Web-based Java programming Learning Assistant System (JPLAS) that offers several types of programming exercises to cover different levels of students. Among them, the element fill-in-blank problem (EFP) was designed for novice students to study grammar and basic programming skills through filling in the blank elements in a Java source code. In general, an EFP instance can be generated by selecting an appropriate code in a textbook or a Web site, and applying the blank element selection algorithm to it. Since EFP is expected to involve the Java grammar, plenty of EFP instances have been prepared for JPLAS, where a student may select an EFP instance matching his/her level. In this paper, we propose a recommendation function of selecting a proper EFP instance to be solved next by considering the difficulty levels and grammar topics. We verify the effectiveness of our proposal through applications to 48 students in the Java programing class in Okayama University.

The replication crisis has further eroded the public's trust in science. Many famous studies, even published in renowned journals, fail to produce the same results when replicated by other researchers. While this is the outcome of several problems in research, one aspect has gotten critical attention-reproducibility. The term reproducible research refers to studies that contain all materials necessary to reproduce the scientific results by other researchers. This allows others to identify flaws in calculations and improve scientific rigor. In this paper, we show a workflow for reproducible research using the R language and a set of additional packages and tools that simplify a reproducible research procedure.

Software Defined Networking (SDN) provides a flexible way to control heterogeneous network resources, which can effectively manage the space and terrestrial network resources. The controller placement problem is important for SDN-based network, and it is an entirely new challenge in SDN-based space-Terrestrial integrated networks (STINs). In this paper, we firstly propose a SDN-based STIN architecture, where integrates the network resources in layers. Then, we formulate the dynamic controller placement problem in the proposed architecture as a mixed non-integer linear programming problem and prove its NP-hardness. After that, we propose an efficient dynamic controller placement and adjustment (DCPA) algorithm with the consideration of comprehensive expense. Finally, we construct the SDN-based STIN system through extending NS3 and evaluate our proposed algorithm with related schemes. The results demonstrate that our DCPA outperforms related proposals in terms of average response time and load balancing. © 2020 IEEE.

The paradigm shift within the industry towards multi-threaded processing has engendered a novel approach to developing highly performant and scalable computing applications. As the fundamental constraints of Object-Oriented programming languages become increasingly apparent in such hardware environments, Data-Oriented Design (DOD) endeavors to redirect developers’ focus away from superfluous abstraction and towards the intricacies of efficiently manipulating substantial volumes of data. While this methodology effectively harnesses the capabilities of contemporary hardware, it also poses a barrier to entry for novice developers and enthusiasts. The Rhai scripting language presents a high-level Application Program Interface (API) that can seamlessly integrate into existing Rust projects, thereby fostering inclusivity within this community. We are developing a web system for learning Python programming. The multiple users can join the system simultaneously through programming battles. This system consists of two parts which are web browsers and a web server. The browser side program written in JavaScript uses an idea from Robocode, which is a open sourced programming learning tool. A user of Robocode plays a battle by writing robot programs in Java. On the other hand, the user of our system writes a program in Python, and the program is converted to a JavaScript of robot program. The conversion is done on the web sever as soon as the user changes his or her code in real-time. In our previous work, we used WebSocket to implement a client-server model that is one-on-one fight. However, since the CPU usage ratio of both browsers and server were high, it was difficult to increase the number of players. Therefore, in this implementation, we useWebRTC to build an application on communicating among browsers that supports more than two players efficiently. We will compare CPU usage ratio on WebSocket model over WebRTC model. Moreover, we will consider which method is suitable for our system.
