Three-dimensional (3d) bulk fin-typed field effect transistors (FinFETs) have emerged as key devices that can scale down the technology node beyond 22-nm. However, the scaleddevices have created new sources of fluctuation inherent in 3d geometry. The interface trap is one such fluctuation that is caused by the trapping andde-trapping of charge carriers and has an adverse effect on device characteristics and variability. In this work, we study impacts of random interface traps (RITs) on electrical characteristic of bulk FinFETs by using a 3d quantum-mechanically correcteddevice simulation. RIT position effects on short channel effects (SCEs) are examined with physical governed influence to show the major fluctuations. More than 50% reductions of the RITs-induced characteristic fluctuation of the germanium (Ge) devices are observed, compared with Si devices. The Ge ones can reduce SCE variations and exhibit high immunity to RITs.

Additionally, the lessons learned and the best practices derived from designing anddelivering a Linkeddata curriculum by the EUCLId project will be discussed. 2. Ways in which Linkeddata principles and technologies can be used to support online learning and create innovative educational services will be explained, based on the experience developed in the development of existing Linkeddata applications for online learning. In this paper, we present a novel face spoofing detection method based on 3d lighting environment analysis of an image pair collected before and after the lighting environment change. Our idea is inspired from the unimpressive fact that the illumination distributions of the internal spoof face stays stable under the protection of the photo and screen plane, while that of a exposed genuine face changes accordingly to different lighting environment due to a natural response of 3d structure. After estimating two sets of lighting environment coefficients of client's face image pair with the hand of 3d Morphable Model (3dMM) and Sphere Harmonic Illumination Model (SHIM), robust liveness judgement is conducted by hypothesis tests. Experimental results show the effectiveness of proposed method on multiple kinds of face attacks including printed photo, screen photo, and video replay attack, and other advantages such as user cooperation free, loose using conditions, simple equipment demand, easy to camouflage and propitious to face recognition.

The paper discusses an approach to create 3d representation of physical objects. The aim is creating a visual representation of an object, which allows for robust recognition, irrespectively of the distance and the direction of observation. The approach uses a set of rotational views of an object, which are transformed into a set of keypoints using the SURF visual feature detector. The key points are then collected to build a 3d model of the object. Such representation allows both for recognizing the objects based on local characteristics, anddistinguishing different global geometry transformations that are needed to recognize the object in its 3d environment.

A new concept for fiber-optical 3d shape sensing applying femtosecond laser technology for high-precision direct writing of Bragg gratings within the core and the cladding of single core standard telecom fibers is presented. This new technology enables a cost-efficient and real-time 3d shape sensing and navigation of medical catheters or endoscopes only by means of passive optical sensor elements. First prototypes showed the possibility to achieve absolute navigation accuracy of four mm per meter and have successfully been tested in clinical environment.

As the web evolves in an integrated and interlinked knowledge space thanks to the growing amount of published Linked Open data, the need to find solutions that enable the scholars to discover, explore and analyse the underlying research data emerges. Scholars, typically non-expert technology users, lack of in-depth understanding of the underlying semantic technology which limits their ability to interpret and query the data. We present a visual workflow to connect scholars and scientific resources on the web of data. We allow scholars to move from exploratory analysis in academic social networks to exposing relations between these resources. We allow them to reveal experts in a particular field anddiscover relations in and beyond their research communities. This paper aims to evaluate the potential of such a visual workflow to be used by non-expert users to interact with the semantically enricheddata and familiarize with the underlying datas.

3d virtual Earth is one of the directions of network GIS. Most scholars always pay more attention to the management of mass geo-information, efficient transmission, and real-time visualization. So as to improve the efficiency of visualization with large-scale tile data, this paper put forward a method of disk cache based on the technology of HTML5 under the three-dimensional earth network implemented by webGL. This method applies the FileSystem API and the web Worker API to set up a disk cache to save the tile temporarily. It can effectively reduce the frequency of access to servers. Based on this, by making comparative experiment with the absence of buffer, this paper shows that the proposeddisk cache mechanism can improve the efficiency of visualization effectively with large-scale tile data.
