The work presents a novel wavy channel nanosheet field effect transistor (WCNSFET) and its circuit-level performance. In this work, a single nanosheet is transformed into a wave-like structure to enhance the physical device area, thus showing an improvement in device performance. The device and circuit level performances are analyzed using 3d TCAd simulation tools. Furthermore, the wavy channel nanosheet FETs are analyzed with different number of waves in a single sheet and compared with flat sheet-based transistors for different channel materials (Ge and GaAs). The results reveal the improvement in drive current, low propagation delay, a smooth voltage transfer characteristic, high noise margin, and low energy. The results achieved with this novel device make the device a promising candidate for next-generation low power CMOS applications.

This paper, presents the non-linear analysis of the most common configurations of Switched Reluctance Generators (SRG). Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of two-phase (4/2), three-phase (6/4), and four-phase (8/6) SRGs have been carried out using (ANSYS Maxwell 16 - 3d Modeler - Transient solution). The simulation process was performed utilizing the Asymmetric Half Bridge Converter (AHBC) model as an external excitation circuit for the SRG model. Research interests have been dedicated recently to SRG as a promising and reliable candidate in both low-speed and high-speed applications, especially for small-scale renewable applications. However, this study includes the non-linear validation for both the conventional short-pitched and the fully-pitched SRG winding configurations at low-speed simulation conditions. This study aims to analyze the non-linear performance of SRG and validate the influence of stator and rotor pole angles (\beta{s} and \beta{r}) variation in addition to the excitation current patterns on the induced output voltage. The dynamic performance of SRG has been simulated, with the exact description of rotor angular position, number of conductors per phase, and the excitation current pattern for each case study. The FE simulation was applied to the same SRG test model;i.e., the same dimensions, the same angular speed, and the same number of conductors per phase. Moreover, SRG FEA output results have been recorded and compared to the corresponding results delivered from a related SRG linear analysis study done by the authors;hence the final proposed design was highlighted for further prototype implementation. The outcome of this study provides the recommended SRG design that can generate the maximum induced output voltage for the same machine design parameters. © 2022 IEEE.

deep Recurrent Neural Network has an excellent performance in sentence semantic analysis. However, due to the curse of the computational dimensionality, the application in the long text is minimal. Therefore, we propose a Triplet Embedding Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network for long text analysis. Firstly, a triplet from each sentence of the long text. Then the most crucial head entity into the CRNN network, composed of CNN and Bi-GRU networks. Both relation and tail entities are input to a CNN network through three splicing layers. Finally, the output results into the global pooling layer to get the final results. Entity fusion and entity replacement are also used to retain the text's structural and semantic information before triplet extraction in sentences. We have conducted experiments on a large-scale criminal case dataset. The results show our model significantly improves the judgment prediction task.

In this paper we present the complete development of an open-hardware and open-source smartwatch, encompassing the design and assembly of a custom printed circuit board (PCB), fabrication of a 3d-printed case, and implementation of a sophisticated real-time operating system (FreeRTOS)-based application. The resulting smartwatch boasts a modular architecture, enabling researchers and hardware and software enthusiasts to modify and adapt the design to their specific requirements as a platform for IoT experimentation and development.

This paper reports the fabrication and characterization of 3d-printed, soft magnetic cores manufactured via material extrusion that attain a relative magnetic permeability above 30. The cores are monolithically fabricated from pellets of nylon-12 doped with FeSiAl particles and do not require heat postprocessing, which makes them compatible with polymer-based, multi-material fabrication. The proposed cores exhibit a very low magnetic retentivity and negligible electrical conductivity, and they outperform the cores of similar characteristics found in the literature by an order of magnitude. This work is of great interest for the inexpensive, single-step fabrication of monolithic electromechanical devices.

Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy is able to perform label-free imaging of lipids with high sensitivity, high spatial and spectral resolution, 3d sectioning, and fast time of image acquisition, i.e., a few seconds. Nevertheless, due to the weak Raman cross-section of biomolecules, SRS images often suffer from low SNR, so SRS applications in biological/biomedical imaging can be compromised. Therefore, methods aiming to improve image quality are required. In this paper, we compare the performances of two widespread general algorithms, i.e. Singular Value decomposition (SVd) and discrete Wavelet Transform (dWT). In order to validate our algorithms, in our investigations lipids droplets (Lds) have been used.

We focus on the sensor fusion for vehicle-side and roadside 3d object detection and tracking. Although quite a few sensor fusion algorithms have been proposed, some of which are top-ranked on various leaderboards, a systematic study on how to integrate three crucial sensors (LidAR, camera and millimeter-wave Radar sensors) to develop effective multi-modal 3d object detection and tracking for vehicle-side perception is still missing. Therefore, we first study the three sensors’ strengths and weaknesses carefully, then compare several different fusion strategies to maximize their utility. Finally, based on the lessons learnt, we propose a simple yet effective multi-modal 3d object detection and tracking framework (namely EZFusion). Without fancy network modules, our proposed EZFusion makes remarkable improvements over the LidAR-only baseline, and achieves comparable performance. For intelligent transportation, far-range perception with roadside sensors is vital. The main challenge of far-range perception is performing accurate object detection and tracking under far distances (e.g., > 150m) at a low cost. To cope with such challenges, deploying both millimeter wave Radars and high-definition cameras, and fusing their data has become a common practice. Towards this goal, the first question is to conduct the association on the 2d image plane or the BEV plane. We argue that the former is more suitable because the magnitude of location errors in the perspective projection points is smaller at far distances on the 2d plane, leading to more accurate association. Thus, we first project the Radar points to the 2d plane and then associate them with the camera-based 2d object locations. Subsequently, we map the camera-based object locations to the BEV plane through inverse projection mapping (IPM) with the corresponding depth information from the Radar data. In this paper, we propose the depth mapping and occlusion removal method using integral imaging (InIm). InIm is a method to obtain 3d information by capturing and reconstructing an object from multiple viewpoints. InIm can remove occlusion using parallax obtained by photographing an object from multiple viewpoints. However, occlusion removal uses a unit matrix to calculate the number of overlaps, which results in an overall darkening of the image. To solve this problem, this paper aims to improve occlusion removal by using the matrix of the mask image to calculate the number of overlaps. InIm can provide depth mapping that shows the distance from an object as pixel values. However, when there is an occlusion in front of the object, it is difficult to provide depth mapping object due to the influence of the occlusion. To solve this problem, we propose a method of depth mapping and occlusion removal method using InIm. Our method is expected to make great progress in improving safety in the field of autonomous driving.

Achieving precise gait planning and high robustness in locomotion control is crucial for the development and application of humanoid robots. In this paper, a novel control strategy is proposed, which combines dynamics control and reinforcement learning (RL), leveraging the precision of dynamics control and the robustness of RL. Specifically, foot placements for each step of the humanoid robot are designed, and the trajectories of the center of mass (CoM) and feet are obtained using a 3d linear inverted pendulum model (3d LIPM). Subsequently, joint angles during motion are calculated based on the trajectories of the CoM and feet using inverse kinematics equations. Finally, the obtained joint angles are trained as baseline actions using RL algorithms. To enhance control robustness, parameter domain randomization is introduced during the training process. By employing this control strategy, simulations of various single-step gaits, such as walking forward, walking to the right, and making right turns, are achieved. Additionally, trajectory tracking, locomotion tests on different terrains, and disturbance resistance are conducted. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy enables precise gait control and exhibits strong robustness in humanoid robots.

Today, virtual worlds are used not only in the gaming industry. Virtual, augmented and cross-reality also allow to organize effectively 3d environments that provide the effect of immersion and user interaction with objects and processes of the learning environment. The combination of physical objects and virtual models is a modern trend in the online lab development. Based on this approach, online experiment becomes more visual and interesting for students. In addition, it reduces queues for experiments on the real equipment. The paper presents the results of the development of an interactive web-oriented virtual model that expands the Smart House & IoT remote laboratory functionality as well as 3d virtual environment of Smart House for the virtual reality helmet. The proposed solutions will motivate students to study home automation technologies and the features of Smart Home systems realization.
