In this paper two types of miniaturized 3d-printed, waveguide antennas been designed, simulated and measured. Several pieces of antennas have been manufactured to investigate the impact of dimensions inaccuracy of 3d-printing technology on return loss parameter. In order to reduce the impact of dimensions spread and differences in a printed material permittivity a tuning process in a dielectric-filled antenna is proposed.

We live surrounded by computing devices, but we are not yet combining them into a natural unified user experience. Therefore, we have designed and implemented a framework to generalize and support the development of multi-device applications, which distribute their User Interfaces (UI) across co-located devices. The framework is composed of: authentication and authorization services;a broker to sync information across application instances;background services to gather the capabilities of the devices;an integration module with an indoor positioning system to determine when to associate devices. It provides a library to determine the components to be displayed based on UI requirements and the capabilities of the available devices. It also includes elements to manage the distribution of UI components and application states that can be shared to enable collaboration. We present an application prototype and a user study which assesses how multi-device applications are perceived by users. The results are very positive, indicating that we should keep working on our research since the users received very well the prototype and the concept, which also validates the support provided by the framework. © 2021 Owner/Author.

Early detection and accurate segmentation of cerebral aneurysm is important for clinical diagnosis and prevention of rupture, which would be life threatening. 3d images can provide abundant information for characterizing the aneurysm. But the traditional manual segmentation of aneurysms takes lots of time and effort. Therefore, accurate and rapid automatic algorithm for 3d segmentation of aneurysm is needed. U-Net is a widely used deep learning network in medical image segmentation, but its performance is limited by the amount of data. In this challenge of aneurysm segmentation, we proposed to add attention gate and Models Genesis pretraining mechanisms to the classical U-Net model to improve the results. The dice of 3d U-net, 3d Attention U-Net, pretrained 3d U-Net and pretrained 3d Attention U-Net are 0.881, 0.884, 0.890 and 0.907, respectively. The experimental results show that the use of attention gate and Models Genesis can significantly improve the performance of U-Net model in segmenting aneurysms. In recent years, various services using XR technology have been developing within commercial and public institutions, including the entertainment industry, to use technology to provide children with enjoyable experiences. Science museums, however, cannot rely simply on entertainment value, as they need to combine entertainment with content that contains educational themes. Educational XR systems generally involve the use of a smartphone or tablet terminal used to capture footage of markers or objects, after which moving images and/or 3d-models are shown on the terminal display. Through observing and interacting with this content, children can deepen their understanding of a given theme or idea. While such systems provide new and exciting opportunities for the activities that can be offered to children, implementing and operating them requires significant costs for science museums. In addition, as for the types of experiences that the XR system can provide, these can be difficult to understand without concrete experience, which can tend to lead into more passive use of the system such as simply observing content. In this paper, in order to offer solutions to these problems, we introduce XR+Crafting content that combines XR technology with creative activities. Through its use of XR technology, the XR+Crafting system proposed in this paper can not only reduce implementation and operation costs, but can also shift the relationship between children and the technology into one that is more active. This paper will also introduce an example of an interactive XR system that incorporates creative activities for children that can be used as content by science museums using XR technology. Building on these suggestions for practical use, we will provide guidelines for the implementation, design, and operation of XR technology at science museums using the XR+Crafting system.

This paper presents the algorithm of extracting contour nodes under two-dimension and three-dimension with the use of self-organizing networks, which is called Growing Neural Gas (GNG). The system imitates how to get the contour nodes in binary image. And, this algorithm also includes getting contour nodes with angle information for dealing with GNG system. Therefore, the algorithm consists of their two methods. The proposed method can get the contour nodes exactly compared with advance literature.

Urban areas encounter a number of particular challenges due to increasing numbers of residents and thus strongly growing traffic with motorized private transport. Along with this, pollution degrades air quality, traffic noise affects residents and parking spaces take up a large part of urban public space. We need intelligent solutions that offer an attractive alternative to the use of private cars. In our view, technology has the potential to solve some of our current mobility challenges, but it is not a solution per se. We claim that as a first step we must define what kind of cities we do consider worth living in, what kind of mobility enhances our quality of life. Right from the start of the development process, we further advocate a continuous analysis of the psychological and sociological effects of the planned changes. We therefore, would like to give an overview of the topics that research and development projects are currently dealing with in the area of human-technology interaction in Germany and show some exemplary projects, which started with the analysis of user needs and work on socio-technological innovations with user-centered processes.

This paper proposes a method of ranking geographic entities (places) where the purpose given as a query can be achieved. Most existing map search engines accept only the name of a place or the type of a place. Thus when searchers want to find a suitable place for "guitar practice", they have to input a place type such as "music studio". To create such a query, prior knowledge (i.e., that a music studio is suitable for playing guitar) is required. Our proposed method uses online review information on places to enable direct place retrieval from a given purpose query. Our method creates a bipartite graph consisting of places and the words that appear in the reviews of these places. The relevance between the given keyword query and a place is calculated by using the Random Walk with Restart algorithm. Additionally, we expand the graph with three hypotheses;1) places that are suitable for the same purpose are similar to each other, and purposes that can be achieved in the same place are similar to each other, 2) the same purpose can be achieved in places with similar metadata, and 3) purposes which have semantically similar meaning can be achieved in the same places. Through an experiment using real review data taken from Google Maps, the usefulness of the proposed method was demonstrated. In particular, it was found that the expansion by places' metadata is effective for finding more relevant places. © 2021 acm.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) caused by the rupture of cerebral aneurysm is a serious life-threatening disease. Therefore, estimating the risk of cerebral aneurysm rupture is clinically important. In this paper, a semi-automatic method for estimating the risk of rupture of cerebral aneurysm was proposed. We applied a variety of methods to extract features of cerebral aneurysm images and 3d modeling, and used XGBoost and fully connected neural network for classification and analysis respectively. The method achieved an F2-score of 0.862 on the test set of CAdA 2020. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The connections between the perception of trust, fairness, and regulatory needs regarding artificial intelligence have not been sufficiently investigated, yet. We address this research gap and analyze the role of trust, acceptance, and confidence in technology use towards the need for regulations and perceptions of fairness of artificial intelligence. A quantitative questionnaire (n = 103) was used to empirically and deductively study the aforementioned research question and established hypotheses. Overall, the results suggest most importantly trust has an impact on assessing the fairness of AI, and that it correlates with regulatory needs. Furthermore, we found that trust and a lack of regulatory needs predict the assessment of perceived AI fairness, explaining 41% of the variance. We also found that the usage context has a significant impact on perceived fairness and regulatory needs. Interestingly, teaching showed the highest need for regulation of all our contexts and showed the lowest perceived fairness.

As one of the four major schools of Chinese jade carving, Shanghai style jade carving is a manifestation of Shanghai's unique regional culture and Shanghai style cultural spirit. And it has extremely high cultural and commercial value. However, in the teaching process of jade carving, there are problems such as high teaching cost, lack of teachers, and limited time and place. In order to solve these problems, we have designed a virtual teaching platform that combines Shanghai style jade carving skills with virtual simulation technology. We used Rhino and 3ds Max to model in a virtual environment. Based on Unity 3d development engine, we used C# scripting language to realize the human-computer interaction function of the system, and completed the design of teaching cognition, training of carving techniques, selection of carving tools, and teaching assessment. In addition, the research elaborates on the technical route, system framework and implementation process of the virtual teaching system in detail. Fifteen students of jade carving skills tested this system and verified the reliability and effectiveness of the system from their interviews. The system utilizes the immersive, interactive and imaginative functions of virtual technology. Therefore, it can effectively reduce the cost of jade carving training and improve learning efficiency, so that jade carving learners can’t be limited by space, time, and materials. Moreover, it plays an important role in promoting the application of virtual reality technology in education and training. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
