Video games are continuously gaining popularity not only as an entertainment medium, but also in fields such as art, entertainment and health. It is necessary to gain a deeper understanding of how players engage with games. A number of studies have shown connections between how players relate to their player character, the storyline, game contents, and basic components, and their resulting satisfaction with the game. The primary aim of this paper is to develop recommendations for improving creation of a game design document for digital game development. It discusses the visualization of an n-dimensional space, and presents a model for a multi-world interpretation to shape an accurate storyline. As a result, we expect to solve logical problems in the storyline of the game that uses time-travel storyline, increase players' satisfaction and engagement, and avoid an outflow of players. The study enables a better understanding of how to create a game design document without problems associated with a time-travel storyline. © 2022 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is an overgrowing technology in both consumer and business use. This technology can significantly affect people's daily lives by changing how people drink coffee and how smart things interact with different industries. IoT could be useful in a lot of different ways. It can give businesses more information about their business, which can help them become more efficient and save money. The sheer amount of data that is created, the size and variety of networks, and the security and privacy issues that come up all slow down development and implementation. In the past few decades, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on Internet of Things (IoT) networks have been seen as one of the most critical and urgent problems. DDoS attacks use the limited resources of IoT devices, like storage space and network bandwidth, to cause problems in IoT applications. This study looks at the different attacks that can lead to DDoS, hurting systems already in place. In this paper, we examine the potential countermeasures to these types of attacks from the perspective of a restricted device. © 2022 IEEE.

Among the different forms of social media, textmessages are known to be the most extensivelydisseminated forms of information. This informationcould be private or sensitive in nature, and so need tobe shielded from prying eyes. To conceal textmessages in an electronic photograph, the LeastSignificant Bit (LSB) technique is employed. Themechanism of concealing the message is simpleenough to accomplish the process of concealingprivate information yet, not change the carrierImage. Despite its simplicity and apparent success inhiding things, this approach must be used *** this study, we will examine a different and simpleto-implement approach to increase the LSB method'slevel of security and blocking any attacker attemptingto spy on the text message or retrieving its content,while maintaining a certain level of LSB method'sefficiency. The suggested solution relies on creating asecret and private key that is difficult to crack inorder to conceal the message. Cutting the digitalImage into blocks generates this key, which comprisesthe block's row and column lengths as well as theblock's image size, which is used to conceal themessage In addition to ensure that the sender andreceiver are both has a compatible technique bywhich the key is used to define the length of eachblock line and column and the block number thatcontains the text message, this will also set aside aportion of the Image to store the key. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents the construction and experimental results for a low cost, small scale flywheel system (1.08kg), meant to be used for near-miniature applications where power or current buffering is needed in short bursts. The mechanical construction and the driver circuit are presented and explained. The flywheel is characterized using easy to reproduce methods over a range of rotational speeds - 2000rpm (209.4rad/s) to 8000rpm (837.7rad/s). The efficiencies at startup and as a generator under various loads are deduced, and it is demonstrated that the effect of air drag, as the main power loss mechanism, can be substantially mitigated even using partial vacuuming only. © 2021 IEEE.

The eight day long blockage that started on 23rd of March 2021 at the Suez Canal, which is one of the busiest waterways of the world, requires serious contemplation and efficient solutions. The incident could have been evaded by rigorous planning and essentially monitoring the health of ships while entering the canal with respect to weather conditions and minimizing the scope of human error. Additional waterways are infrastructures that cannot be built soon, and therefore, an Internet of Things-based (IoT) system that is proposed here could be a boon and also be implemented rather soon. This paper proposes an IoT-based system level design that could assist shipping industry in considering managing the dynamics of waterways more efficiently by forecasting possible risks related to weather systems and status of ships infrastructure including human error. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The facial age estimation is an important task for efficient human-robot interaction. A supervised similarity learning has not been widely adopted to a facial age estimation and is still a challenging task. In this paper, we propose a multi-scale similarity learning model which is able to jointly learn similarities between multi-level age features extracted from three different images: an input, a sample with same age named positive and a sample with contrary age named negative. The idea behind using the multi-level feature extraction is to make our feature similarity learning model robust to scale invariance of individual images. As is known, the quality of images in datasets for age estimation vary considerably and deep-learning based networks are often sensitive to image quality and resolution. On that account, we employ a multi-scale feature extraction structure to our model and prove its ability to extract reliable features for a similarity learning. Experimental results show that the proposed approach outperforms previous research and provides a new state-of-the-art age estimation accuracy of UTKFace and CACD benchmark datasets for age estimation. © 2023 ICROS.

Semi-online task scheduling in the edge computing platform refers to a scheduling scenario where there exists unknown performance computing nodes in the system. Existing online and offline task scheduling methods may lead to long makespan or transmission time due to the influence of unknown nodes, and existing semi-online methods are not fully applicable to the scenario discussed in this paper, which aggravates the problem of high energy consumption in edge computing plat-form. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a Mapping-based Dynamic Semi-online Scheduling(MDSS) strategy for edge computing platform. Firstly, we consider three main factors that affect the energy consumption in edge computing platform, that is, the energy consumption of task execution, task transmission and idle state. Then an energy consumption optimization problem is established from the perspectives of the processing speed, routing delay and queuing delay of the edge nodes, which correspond to those three factors. Secondly, for the unknown node, this paper introduces a mapping mechanism, which maps the performance of unknown nodes to a certain given node. Then the mapping relations are dynamically adjusted by continuously checking the task queue lengths of the mapped two-sides. Therefore, the prior knowledge of known nodes can be fully used. Thirdly, an im-proved Power-of- D algorithm based on the mapping mechanism is proposed to solving the formulated problem. It utilizes the prior knowledge of known node performance, which reduces task processing time and transmission time, so that the energy consumption can be reduced. Finally, some experiments are conducted to evaluate MDSS. Results show that the dynamic mapping mechanism is effective in the semi-online scenario and MDSS can greatly reduce the energy consumption in the edge computing platform. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper presents, investigates and further develops microscopic simulations, using advanced capabilities from today programing environment and HPC resources, in an attempt to further develop this type of modelling towards realistic traffic configurations and large-scale applications, in the overall context of CPS - Cyber Physical systems and future autonomous driving concepts. This is based on the attempt to address and further develop the CPS concepts in the transportation domain, towards a future smart mobility (SM) environment where T-CPS takes into account technologies able to exploit advanced capabilities at both vehicle level and the smart infrastructure. Proposed contributions were assigned on the vehicle level. Autonomous vehicles based on an advanced driver model, able to face all challenges from the current traffic: urban traffic rules, lane changing needs, congestion, passenger comfort. We introduce a new model and characterize this with respect to current expectations. This is considered to be the kernel of the new generation autonomous car computer system. © 2021 IEEE.

As complexity is increasing there is an essential need to adapt modern systems to provide efficiency despite the current challenges. The health system is characterized by the variation of services that are offered and challenged by the need to adapt fast while also providing safe, accurate and reliable services. In this context, fractal organized connectionist networks bring characteristics that might optimize the outcomes of complex systems. In this paper healthcare services are viewed as fractal-organized connectionist networks (FOCNs). This study presents a comparative analysis of two algorithmic trading bots employing distinct artificial intelligence algorithms, namely Lorentzian classification and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), in the context of Bitcoin/USD trading. Over a period spanning from February to April 2024, the bots were deployed on the Pionex exchange with an initial investment of $100 each, with profits systematically reinvested at each trade. Through meticulous examination of the code, strategy comparison, and rigorous evaluation of results, this study aims to discern which algorithm yields superior performance in terms of profitability and efficiency. While both bots demonstrate viability in generating profits, the KNN algorithm-driven bot showcases superior performance across key metrics. Its higher win rate, profit factor, and average profit per trade underscore the robustness and efficacy of the KNN algorithm in capturing profitable trading opportunities. Nonetheless, the Lorentzian classification algorithm-driven bot still exhibits commendable performance, highlighting the versatility of AI algorithms in algorithmic trading contexts. Further research and refinement of algorithmic trading strategies utilizing AI algorithms hold promise for enhancing performance and unlocking new frontiers in algorithmic trading excellence. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
