This paper details a process used to create an interconnect in a conducting systems, such as amorphous or polycrystalline semiconductors. An experimental verification on the plasticity that supports the percolation conduction mechanism is provided. The plasticity observed in the sample could be harnessed in the development of new electronic devices that require flexibility and adaptability, such as wearable electronics and bendable screens. Overall, TEM characterization, in combination with SAED analysis, revealed a highly oriented crystalline structure in the sample. In addition, the results of this study have implications for the design of new memory devices that are based on a percolation conduction mechanism, which could potentially lead to the development of more efficient and reliable non-volatile storage technologies.

Cyber Physical systems (CPS) represents an autonomous system which integrates sensing devices, actuators, hardware equipments and software applications, having also communication functionality. A CPS can realize data transmission and cooperation with remote systems and IoT networks. Within smart factories, having the ability of involving business scenarios, CPS autonomously exchange data, control and monitor processes, perform actions in the Industry 4.0 context. Correlated with CPS interoperability capabilities, a new paradigm in manufacturing appeared, based on collaborative, service-oriented, customer-centric industries. Various new business models involve a large, exponentially growing number, of interconnected devices. In this paper is presented a CPS services framework, which integrates an e-business service group within a collaborative infrastructure, thus offering to the users the possibility to valorify on the market, through services integration and collaboration, the remarkable technical advantages of CPS. As e-business example, an e-payment service, developed in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), is considered. The data transactions are realized on mobile and wireless communication channels, through Soap and Rest Web services, which are accessed by mobile client software application, installed on Android OS Smartphones. © 2021 IEEE.

Mapping structured data to a shared domain ontology is a key step in publishing semantic content on the Web. This problem is known as Relational-To-Ontology Mapping Problem (Rel2Onto). Modeling the semantics of data manually requires huge human cost and expertise, making an automatic method of semantic modeling desired. Most of the related work focuses on semantic annotation of source attributes. However, besides semantically annotating source attributes, it is challenging to explicitly infer the relationships between attributes. In this paper we improve previous work by Taheriyan et al. [4] using Subgraph Matching to take into account frequencies of candidate semantic models occurring in the domain knowledge graph used as background knowledge. Preliminary experiments demonstrate that our method achieves higher precision and recall than the state-of-the-art solutions in the difficult scenarios where only few historical mappings between domain ontology and data sources are available. © 2021 IEEE.

Every year, a significant part of public and private organisations' revenues is lost to fraud. Recently, increasing digitisation has also brought more attention on organisational processes, procurement, and fraud data. Several automated methods have already been proposed to extract information from these kind of sources, including public procurement, also to develop predictive models for fraud detection. In addition, artificial intelligence techniques including machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and network analysis methodologies have been adopted to address the issue. This study offers a review of the most recent emerging studies on fraud detection for public organisations. Finally, it summarises the main existing research by proposing a review of current challenges in the field. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors. Stacked generalization (also called stacking) is an ensemble method in machine learning that uses a metamodel to combine the predictive results of heterogeneous base models arranged in at least one layer. K-fold cross-validation is employed at the various stages of training in this method. Nonetheless, another validation strategy is to try out several splits of data leading to different train and test sets for the base models and then use only the latter to train the metamodel - this is known as blending. In this work, we present a modification of an existing visual analytics system, entitled StackGenVis, that now supports the process of composing robust and diverse ensembles of models with both aforementioned methods. We have built multiple ensembles using our system with the two respective methods, and we tested the performance with six small- to large-sized data sets. The results indicate that stacking is significantly more powerful than blending based on three performance metrics. However, the training times of the base models and the final ensembles are lower and more stable during various train/test splits in blending rather than stacking. © 2021 IEEE.

Automatic lyrics transcription (ALT), which can be regarded as automatic speech recognition (ASR) on singing voice, is an interesting and practical topic in academia and industry. ALT has not been well developed mainly due to the dearth of the paired singing voice and lyrics datasets for model training. Considering that there is a large amount of ASR training data, a straightforward method is to leverage ASR data to enhance ALT training. However, the improvement is marginal when training the ALT system directly with ASR data, because of the gap between the singing voice and standard speech data which is rooted in music-specific acoustic characteristics in singing voice. In this paper, we propose PDAugment, a data augmentation method that adjusts pitch and duration of speech at syllable level under the guidance of music scores to help ALT training. Specifically, we adjust the pitch and duration of each syllable in natural speech to those of the corresponding note extracted from music scores, to narrow the gap between natural speech and singing voice. Experiments on DSing30 and Dali corpus show that the ALT system equipped with our PDAugment outperforms previous state-of-the-art systems by 5.9% and 18.1% WERs respectively, demonstrating the effectiveness of PDAugment for ALT. © C Zhang, J Yu, LC Chang, X Tan, J Chen, T Qin, K Zhang.

The effectiveness of radio direction finding systems largely depends on what parameters were laid down during the design, as well as on the features of the mathematical models used. This paper proposes an integrated approach to describe antenna arrays formed on the basis of biconical vibrators. The method of integral equations is used to calculate the characteristics of vibrators. Optimization of characteristics is carried out using a genetic algorithm. The influence of the carrier on which the lattice is attached is taken into account using the generalized EMF method. A generalized algorithm has been built that allows for direction finding. Results are presented that demonstrate the effectiveness of this algorithm;the accuracy of determining the angles has increased several times. © 2021 IEEE.

In order to meet the increasing demand for communication and sensing performance, integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) systems are developed towards using larger scale antenna arrays and higher/wider frequency bands, which will bring significant near-field effect. In this case, the electromagnetic (EM) wave must be accurately modeled as the spherical wave, which leads to new challenges and opportunities in the design of ISAC systems. This paper aims to investigate the beamforming design for near-field ISAC. Joint beamforming of both communication symbols and sensing waveforms is optimized to minimize the mean square error (MSE) between the desired and generated beam pattern under constraints of transmit power and communication quality of service (QoS). Due to the non-convexity of the proposed optimization problem, the majorization-minimization (MM) algorithm is leveraged to convert the problem and solve it iteratively. A two-dimensional beam pattern is demonstrated to visually verify the advantage of the proposed beamforming design in the near-field scenario. In addition, simulation results numerically illustrate the trade-offs between the sensing and communication performance of the design. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) technologies, smart vehicles have replaced conventional ones by providing more advanced driving-related features. IoV systems typically consist of Intra-Vehicle Networks (IVNs) in which many Electronic Control units (ECUs) directly and indirectly communicate among them through the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. However, the growth of such vehicles has also increased the number of network and physical attacks focused on exploiting security weaknesses affecting the CAN protocol. Such problems can also endanger the life of the driver and passengers of the vehicle, as well as that of pedestrians. Therefore, to face this security issue, we propose a novel anomaly detector capable of considering the vehicle-related state over time. To accomplish this, we combine different most famous algorithms to consider all possible relationships between CAN messages and arrange them as corresponding associative rules. The presented approach, also compared with the state-of-the-art solutions, can effectively detect different kinds of attacks (DoS, Fuzzy, GEAR and RPM) by only considering CAN messages collected during attack-free operating scenarios. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
