In an emergency, dedicated vehicles play an important role. the response time is one issue that must be considered. In this article, we propose a framework for simulating emergency situations that takes into account the following parameters for problem solving: vehicles with capacities (ambulance vehicles equipped with specific equipment or with a limited number of seats, fire engines, etc.), types of intervention (fires, natural disasters, road accidents, etc.), buildings/dispatches (which have a limited number of places available for treatment or have the necessary equipment). the ideas of space indexing and route optimization are merged to handle these characteristics.

Smart agricultural systems require irrigation systems powered by renewable energy sources that are also adaptable for isolated areas without connection possibility to the electricity network or the water network. For such situations, in this paper, a solution is proposed using a wind turbine and a submersible pump to feed a water basin, subsequently irrigation is done by free fall. the developed solution is designed and simulated using a model of a medium-power wind turbine, and a battery storage element withthe aim of providing the necessary electricity for irrigation of an agricultural area in Buzau, where there is a water deficit.

Due to the opacity of machine learning technology, there is a need for explainability and fairness in the decision support systems used in public or private organizations. Although the criteria for appropriate explanations and fair decisions change depending on the values of those who are affected by the decisions, there is a lack of discussion framework to consider the appropriate outputs for each stakeholder. In this paper, we propose a discussion framework that we call "stakeholder-in-the-loop fair decisions." this is proposed to consider the requirements for appropriate explanations and fair decisions. We identified four stakeholders that need to be considered to design accountable decision support systems and discussed how to consider the appropriate outputs for each stakeholder by referring to our works. By clarifying the characteristics of specific stakeholders in each application domain and integrating the stakeholders' values into outputs that all stakeholders agree upon, decision support systems can be designed as systemsthat ensure accountable decision makings.

Energy market liberalization brings new opportunities, since large consumers have direct access to energy trading to buy energy for the next day. However, that requires a good estimation of the expected amount of energy and its hourly distribution in advance. On the other hand, smart energy meters are being installed in many facilities withthe aim of achieving holistic submetering systems. these systems consist of a set of meters structured in several levels, so that there are hierarchical relations among upstream and downstream meters. this information could be exploited for achieving accurate one-day-ahead energy predictions. However, submetering systems might be incomplete due to unavailable meters or lost energy. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical prediction method for incomplete submetering systemsthat is based on 2D convolutional neural network (2D CNN) and is able to perform day ahead prediction of power consumption. this method exploits the hierarchical relations among meters and considers periodicity in order to forecast the power consumption for the next day. the proposed hierarchical method has proved to be more accurate and fast to forecast power consumption in incomplete submetering systemsthan using an individual predictions.

the modern monitoring and controlsystemsthat are currently used in most fields are based on intelligent algorithms, distributed management systems, and a new generation of communication buses. For the monitoring and control of the processes inside a greenhouse, the use of sophisticated algorithms or complex devices is not required. However, in order to make the activity more efficient and increase the production of a greenhouse, a proposed solution is to use data management and control devices such as PLCs, and the data acquired from the greenhouse to be retrieved by means of sensors connected to nodes with wireless transmission. the wireless communication variant proved to be the most efficient, in the greenhouse environment being an increased humidity due to the irrigation process of the plants. Also, the need for space for the plants requires giving up the wires drawn through the greenhouse.

In this paper, a new global optimization methodology is proposed. the approach presented is a hyper-heuristic, namely Evolutionary Bald Eagle Search (EBES), based on the Bald Eagle Search (BES) optimization algorithm. Additionally, for comparison, Evolutionary Particle Swarm optimization (EPSO) is demonstrated, which is very similar with EBES in the overall approach, but is based on the well-known PSO heuristic. the main methodology consists in a genetic algorithm that is employed as a high-level method to adjust the hyper-parameters of the low-level heuristics in an online manner in order to maximize the performance of the search for global optima. the proposed hyper-heuristics are compared withthe heuristics on which they are based, showing a significant improvement in performance.

In this paper, a method of fusing distance information and camera data is presented, the objective being that of combining LIDAR measurements withthe output of a segmentation neural network, applied on the merged image from three frontal cameras, for navigating in an indoor environment. Usually, these types of environments are not structured, being diverse in their composition: for example, some buildings have more glass walls and doors, others might have large corridors and concrete structures. the proposed fusing method is used for reducing the errors generated by both techniques individually, which is then applied to controlthe trajectory of an electric wheelchair, as well as to gather a dataset of corrected and annotated images for reducing the dependency on the LIDAR data in the future.

this paper presents the development of a system that uses fuzzy logic in order to evaluate the thermal comfort conditions expressed by means of a score by the occupants of an office room the inputs of the system are represented by three datasets relevant to the study: the air temperature, the positioning of the occupant and the level of activity carried out by the occupant. Based on the comfort score obtained, the HVAC system located at the room level will maintain a comfortable environment. the proposed solution also contributes to the minimization of energy consumption in buildings. In order to collect the data sets necessary for the study, we used the *** module as a wearable device.
