Optimization can help businesses take better decisions. this paper provides an overview of the use of several optimization methods and algorithms in various types of information systems. the systems considered are expert systems, decision support systems, and e-commerce. Nowadays Big Data has become a topic that has demonstrated its practical value in the latest years and can no longer be ignored. the need for employees who understand Big Data and know to work with tools that have arisen to analyze it is clear when we look at the exponential growth trend in the number of jobs for data scientists over the past two years. therefore, the paper first analyzes the background of big data’s appearance, uses, and applications in industry, government, and universities. It is well known that nowadays children tend to spend lot of time playing games on mobile devices at the expense of reading books. the current research aims to explore ways to design and develop a mobile application, attractive for children, that uses voice recognition technology and gamification techniques to help children read more and better and to track the progress of reading. the application is implemented with Flutter, Dart and Firebase and is addressed to children, the books being made available in encyclopedia format. By integrating technologies such as NLP and gamification the application aims to improve reading fluency among children, but also to give them the opportunity to accumulate new and exciting information in the same time.

this article presents a way to implement a collection of fitness moves on an iCub (Cognitive Universal Body) robot, whose objective is to act as a fitness instructor and interact with humans. Due to the advantages of a simulation medium, the robot is simulated in the Gazebo simulator, on the Construct online platform. the control is done using Robot Operating System (ROS) with PID controllers for the robot joints, withthe proportional, integral and derivative parameters tuned using a Genetic Algorithm. the scripts for the collection of moves and the algorithm used to tune the PID controllers are written in Python.

this paper presents the application of a genetic algorithm (GA) for optimizing a simple moving average convergence divergence (MACD) crossover trading strategy and an ensemble moving average convergence divergence with relative strength index (MACD-RSI) on Nvidia stock with daily data. the optimization of trading strategies is a computationally heavy task, and the genetic algorithm is a probabilistic and heuristic searching algorithm that is inspired Darwin’s theory of natural selection which is typically used for hyperparameter tuning applications. the GA is used to identify the best set of parameters for the MACD and MACD-RSI strategies, which are widely used technical indicators in the field of trading. the paper provides a detailed explanation of the GA design, indicators, metrics, general architecture, experiments and results.

Network optimization and continued availability depend on a number of capabilities that are part of network management. the Maintenance, operating and also offering a safeguarded interaction network is very complicated. It calls for the network operators to grapple with low-level vendor particular arrangements to execute the high degree network policies which are complicated. A method for monitoring networks with OpenFlow controller is presented in this paper in two separate functions for the same networks. Bandwidth utilization, Meter values, charts and statistics are provided by the method to extend controller monitoring capabilities. the method architecture and implementation will be introduced in order to present the feature set. Additionally, softswitches are used as a switch and Mininet to evaluate a virtualized network. this analysis shows whether Meters or ports value is better for network management.

computer games as an educational tool significantly improved information retention, student involvement, and motivation. Despite the growing popularity and the demonstrated positive impact, little progress is made to let educators create games without learning game programming or investing massive amounts of time, money, and human resources. this paper considers the usage of procedural content generation in simplifying the generation of game environments. Given that most educational material is in text format, we evaluate the possibility of generating 3D scenes starting from natural language text. A comprehensive survey of the current methods is presented, analyzing whether they can be successfully used in game-based learning. the study discusses several current limitations and possible improvements, highlighting a need for better progress in the domain.
