this paper presents a novel approach to suppressing ultra-wideband (UWB) interference using a strong-coupled modal filter. Specifically, T-resonators are proposed as a means of improving the interference-suppression characteristics. the optimal resonators geometric parameters were obtained by the heuristic search method. Results show that the use of a pair of resonators can reduce the amplitude of UWB interference at the output by half. To validate the results, simulations were conducted using different approaches, which showed good agreement with each other based on the waveforms of the frequency response. the paper also highlights the use of N-norms to estimate the hazard of UWB interference after suppression. the N-norm values suggest a reduced probability of component burnout and equipment damage. In conclusion, this paper demonstrates the potential for additional suppression of UWB interference in modal filters using T-resonators. this approach could have significant implications for improving the functionality and reliability of electrical circuits in various applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Programming massively distributed systems in unreliable environments poses several non-trivial challenges. Such systems need to be able to adapt and self-organise, and special algorithms need to be developed for this purpose. In particular, simulators provide an irreplaceable tool for the development process. Among other tools for programming self-organizing systems, the FieldCalc++ (FCPP, implementing the field calculus in C++) library stands out for its efficiency, portability and extensibility, and its support for aggregate programs. On the other hand, the simulator's output was limited up to now to numeric statistical information, reducing the user's ability to understand and interact with the system under simulation. In this paper, we present a novel graphical user interface for FCPP, allowing for a real-time, interactive and three-dimensional visualization of the simulated system. through this interface, the user can control the simulation flow, visualize summary information of the network at a single glance, and inspect detailed information via auxiliary windows. the interface is designed to require minimal effort from the end user for its setup, and can be further extended for increased interaction.

this article presents the results of selecting, justifying, and optimizing the cross section parameters for a modal filter (MF) with single modal redundancy (MR). this filter is employed for protecting circuits from interfering ultrashort pulses (UPS) in differential and common mode. the results demonstrate that the attenuation coefficient in the differential and common modes depends on the width of the active conductor and the distance between the structures. As a result, we present their optimal values. It is shown that the location of primary (reserved) and secondary (reserving) conductors in a four-wire MF has a significant impact. the smallest voltage value at the MF output is observed when EMF sources are connected to the most remote conductors both in differential and in common mode for four types of pulses. Insertion loss values in differential mode were minus 5.19, 11.57, 5.26, and 5.22 dB, while in common mode - minus 5.45, 11.7, 5.65, and 5.65 dB for trapezoidal, digitized, unipolar and bipolar action, respectively. Switching to closer pairs of conductors degrades insertion loss levels by 0.57-0.76 dB for common mode, and 0.61-0.82 dB for differential modes, depending on the selected lines. © 2023 IEEE.

Heterogeneous graph (HG) embedding, aiming to represent the nodes in the graph as a low-dimensional vector form for further reasoning to better implement downstream tasks, has attracted considerable attention in recent years. Most existing HG embedding methods use the meta-paths to preserve the proximity or adapt graph neural networks (GNNs) to facilitate the message-passing process. However, these methods neglect to analyze the shape properties of nodes and the influence of each node from a topological perspective, thus cannot fully explore the information on higher-order connectivity of HG and be effectively support more complex tasks of network analysis. In this paper, a novel HG embedding model (TNFE) is proposed to capture the topological link structure and the higher-order interactive information between nodes simultaneously. Specifically, persistent homology is used to reconstruct the connection between nodes in HG. then the neighborhoods of the nodes are aggregated based on a graph convolutional network. Moreover, modular topology centrality is defined to sample the topological network field structure of each node. Finally, multi-task learning task is built to preserve the topology connectivity and the topological network field proximity simultaneously. the extensive experiments on three real-world datasets show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art approaches on node classification and clustering task. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Answer selection aims to find the most appropriate answer from a set of candidate answers, playing an increasingly important role in Community-based Question Answering. However, existing studies overlook the correlation among historical answers of users and simply summarize user contexts by concatenation or max-pooling when modeling user representations. In this paper, we propose a novel User Context-aware Attention Network (UCAN) for the answer selection task. Specifically, we apply the BERT model to encode representations of questions, answers, and user contexts. then we use the CNN model to extract the n-gram features. Next, we model the user context as a graph and utilize the graph attention mechanism to capture the correlation among answers in the user context. We further use the Bi-LSTM to enhance the contextual representations. Finally, we adopt a multi-view attention mechanism to learn the context-based semantic representations. We conduct experiments on two widely used datasets, and the experimental results show that the UCAN outperforms all baselines. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Recently, the coronavirus pandemic has led to a new normal lifestyle, and reducing contact with humans by 70% is necessary in order for preventing infection. therefore, in order to reduce the chances of contact between humans to the greatest degree possible, we propose a prototype method for remotely controlling a robot arm using human hand gestures in a non-contact manner. By multithread processing of involving hand gesture recognition using a Kinect device, and conversion between the camera coordinate system and the robot coordinate system, smooth operation of the robot arm is realized by asynchronous communication using exclusive control (mutex class in C++) and queue buffering (queue class on C++). © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Multi-label text classification (MLTC) is a challenging task in natural language processing. Improving the performance of MLTC through building label dependencies remains a focus of current research. Previous researches used label tree structure or label graph structure to build label dependencies. However, these label dependency structure building methods suffer from complexity and lack of interpretability of label relationships. To solve these problems, we propose a new model LHGN: Label-Dependent Hypergraph Neural Network for Enhanced Multi-label Text Classification, which introduces hypergraph structure to build label-dependent relationships, enhance the correlation between labels, reduce graph complexity and improve the interpretability of label relationships. In addition, we build hypergraph structures for each text instance to capture its structural information, and use the BERT model to capture the semantic information of texts. By integrating text information and combining the hypergraph label structure dependencies for multi-label text classification. Experimental results on three benchmark datasets demonstrate that the LHGN model outperforms state-of-the-art baseline models. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Recent advancements in Machine Reading Comprehension (MRC) models have sparked interest in the field of Named Entity Recognition (NER), where entities are extracted as answers of given queries. Yet, existing MRC-based models face several challenges, including high computational costs, limited consideration of entity content information, and the tendency to generate sharp boundaries, that hinder their generalizability. To alleviate these issues, this paper introduces CREAM, an enhanced model leveraging Concise query and REgion-Aware Minimization. First, we propose a simple yet effective strategy of generating concise queries based primarily on entity categories. Second, we propose to go beyond existing methods by identifying entire entities, instead of just their boundaries (start and end positions), with an efficient continuous cross-entropy loss. An in-depth analysis is further provided to reveal their benefit. the proposed method is evaluated on six well-known NER benchmarks. Experimental results demonstrate its remarkable effectiveness by surpassing the current state-of-the-art models, with the substantial averaged improvement of 2.74, 1.12, and 2.38 absolute percentage points in Precision, Recall, and F1 metrics, respectively. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

the increase of job postings being made available, particularly online, has led to an increase in fraudulent job postings, designed to trick applicants into offering up their money and personal information. Previous works that proposed solutions to this issue, typically avoid analyzing sentiment to do this and instead rely only on information that can be converted into a categorical form. this paper proposes a methodology using deep learning sequential models in conjunction with natural language processing techniques to solve the fraudulent job posting issues. We test several text pre-processing techniques and word vectorization models, and experiments are performed to identify which combination of these techniques/vectorization models achieve the best results on the chosen deep learning models. the dataset used suffers from an imbalance issue, thus several different over-sampling techniques as well as the use of class weightings were tested to mitigate this. through this experimentation, we were able to achieve a best accuracy of 98%, with a precision of 93%, recall of 89% and an F1 Score of 91%, utilizing data balanced using class weightings, a pre-trained Word2Vec embedding model and a Bi-Directional LSTM as our deep learning sequential model. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

the sampling methods for real-time and high-speed changing streaming data are prone to lose a large amount of valuable discrete data. the SDDS (Streaming Data Dynamic Drilling Sampling) sampling method can obtain the value of a large amount of discrete data, but it retains too many discrete values in the sample set, resulting in inconsistent distribution with the original stream dataset and difficulty in describing the overall characteristics of the streaming data. Based on the SDDS sampling method, we propose an adaptive drilling sampling method SDADS (Streaming Data Adaptive Drilling Sampling), which adaptively adjusts various sampling rates in the well during the sampling process, caches all data in the current well, and then adaptively resamples the data in the well, ensuring consistency in data distribution before and after sampling. A new model SDVM (Streaming Data Valuation Model), is further proposed for evaluating the overall value characteristics of streaming datasets. Experiments show that the method proposed in the paper uses neural network training and testing with a small sampling rate to achieve accuracy, recall, and F1 scores above 90%, which is higher than that of the SDDS sampling method. In summary, the SDADS sampling method is beneficial to train neural network models and evaluate the overall value characteristics of streaming data, which has essential research significance in big data valuation. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
