the routing state of UAV networks is difficult to monitor, making many new routing protocols hard to evaluate on UAVs. In this paper, we propose NBMon, an NB-IoT-based routing monitoring system for UAV networks, which can upload the routing table information from the host device to a control station through the NB-IoT network. At the same time, the control station can also send commands to the monitored devices to change routes. However, one challenge is that both NB-IoT modules and the control station are behind NAT without global IP addresses. We propose a NAT traversal method on top of NB- IoT. It allows communication between the NB-IoT modules and the control station in different networks. Finally, we implement NBMon and evaluate the performance of NB-IoT devices through real-world experiments.

To ensure the safety of highway traffic, traffic management systems are used. In the Netherlands, a traffic management system is used consisting of roadside units, which are controlled from traffic centers. the roadside units are capable of showing legends, such as speed limits or directional instructions. Operators are monitoring the road 24/7, and during roadworks or when an incident happens, they can request a measure, e.g., a lane closure. the system then automatically determines the required legend pattern, comprising of directional arrows to lead traffic away from the closed lanes and speed limits on the remaining open lanes. this system is managed by Rijkswaterstaat, which is part of the Dutch ministry of infrastructure and water management. In this paper, integer linear programming is used to determine the legend pattern, based on operator input. the model adheres to the traffic rules used by Rijkswaterstaat. By using a model-based optimization approach, a solution is found which guarantees legend patterns follow the rules, while minimizing the impact on traffic. the model can be easily adapted to tryout different road configurations or alternative rules. Furthermore, a graphical user interface is created for validation of the generated solutions, by the operators from Rijkswaterstaat. this model is also applicable to highways that are not equipped with physical signaling equipment. therefore, it can be used to control two thirds of the Dutch highway network, where the current system is not implemented.

Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) technology meets real-time communication standards and is currently supported by mainstream browsers to meet low-latency live streaming requirements. the WebRTC Google Congestion control (GCC) algorithm utilizes a one-way delay gradient signal for conservative bandwidth estimation. However, this makes it sensitive to jitter, resulting in a decrease in the estimated bandwidth and low video quality. In this paper, we propose HybridRTS, a framework for congestion control aiming to strategically switch between proposed rule-based and reinforcement learning (RL) based methods. HybridRTS is evaluated via trace-driven simulations and real-world experiments, outperforming GCC with improvements in average Quality of Service (QoS) scores of 11.57% - 18.57%. Additionally, HybridRTS outperforms standalone rule-based and RL-based methods with decreasing in average latency by 11.46% - 29.66%. According to extensive experiments, HybridRTS yields solid results on various network conditions.

To address the issue of suboptimal performance in different scenes by traditional dark channel dehazing algorithms, a novel image dehazing method based on an adaptive dark channel prior model Compared with traditional dark channel dehazing algorithms, this method is not affected by the environment and can achieve adaptive dehazing for various images, solving the problem of uneven final dehazing image quality caused by different image environments in traditional dark channel algorithms Firstly, the source image is calculated by using the dark channel prior, and an objective function for image dehazing is constructed utilizing the metrics PSNR and SSIM. Based on this, an improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to optimize the adaptive dark channel prior model for obtaining the threshold t0 of optimal transmission rate and the coefficients a and b of the objective function. then, the optimal adaptive dark channel prior model is constructed to achieve the dehazing effect of different scene images. Finally, experimental results of six different scenes are presented to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed image dehazing method. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

there are many problems existing in government data sharing, such as poor security, privacy disclosure and low tamper-resistant modification. To address this issue, we propose a secure and trusted data-sharing model for government data sharing. Given the features of transparency and decentralization, blockchain makes data visible to everyone on the network and is inappropriate for certain situations. this paper transfers the original data to the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) stor-age. To ensure the security of data sharing, achieve a multi- keyword searchable mechanism and speed up computations of encryption, we propose a cryptographic primitive developed by extending ciphertext policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) and searchable encryption (SE). the experiment result shows that the data-sharing model can prevent malicious attacks and improve the speed of encryption and decryption.

Because of its great accuracy, the electrochemical model is frequently utilized in the algorithm design process for lithium-ion batteries. Sadly, the electrochemical model requires a lot of time to solve since it is made up of many nonlinear partial differential equations. In order to solve an extended single particle model (ESPM) fast, a neural network based on physical information (PINN) is examined in this paper. the PINN-ESPM structure can not only estimate the state of charge, but also quickly and accurately estimate the lithium-ion concentration and potential under various application currents, which has stronger adaptability and scalability. In the process of neural network learning, different from the traditional neural network that needs to be trained by labeled data, the loss function is designed only based on the physical constraints brought by equations, boundary conditions and initial values, which makes it an unsupervised learning method. Finally, by comparing the PINN-ESPM proposed in this paper with the data obtained by the P2D model under various current conditions and the experiment battery voltage, the maximum relative error is maintained at 4%. the error of SOC based on the model is less than 4%. While under the same computing resources, PINN-ESPM is 500 times faster than the traditional numerical method. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Power wheelchairs (PWC) are essential for people with mobility impairment, and many research studies have been reported to ease their operations. However, the existing approaches either rely on extra hardware components or demand complex software that incurs high costs. In this work, we propose a low-cost, computer-vision-based assistive driving system that runs on a smartphone with the objective of safely driving a PWC in a hands-free manner with reduced attention in an indoor environment to relieve the arduous operations of disabled users and reduce their stress. the system adopts a modified and pre-trained ResNet-50 model running on a smartphone to derive the driving instructions using the images captured in real-time with its built-in camera. the smartphone interacts with a control interface to send the driving instructions to the PWC. A prototype of the proposed driving assistive system is implemented on a Pixel-6 Android phone and evaluated on a mobile robot as the proof-of-concept design. the experiments show that the smartphone can process input at up to 3.4 images per second to generate driving instructions in time to safely navigate the mobile robot at reasonable speeds in the testing environment with minimal intervention from the user.

Dataflow architecture is a promising parallel computing platform that provides high performance, high efficiency and flexibility. Since the execution of a loop is usually the most time-consuming in a program, extracting sufficient loop-level parallelism is an essential task of dataflow architecture. However, existing methods often result in low execution performance and poor hardware utilization due to the imbalance among dataflow graph nodes and the non-preemptive mechanism. To tackle these problems, this paper makes three contributions: 1) A highly effective dataflow graph balancing method is developed to improve the utilization. 2) An enhanced dataflow execution model is proposed, which adapts a novel preemptive mechanism to further improve the hardware utilization and performance. 3) A decoupled dataflow architecture is designed to efficiently support our proposed dataflow execution model. Experiment shows that our methods can achieve an average of 2.61 ×performance improvement and 2.5 ×utilization improvement compared to the state-of-the-art methods with acceptable overhead.

this paper discusses knowledge graphs and networks on the scientific process from a philological viewpoint. Relevant themes are: the smallest entities of scientific discourse;the treatment of documents or artefacts as texts and commentaries in discourse;and links between context, (co)text, and data points. As an illustration of the micro-level approach, version control of linguistic examples is discussed as a possible field of application in this discipline. this underlines the claim for data points to be treated like unique entities, which possess metadata of the datum and any text generating knowledge from it.

In this paper, we study the interference elimination in intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) enabled indoor millimeter-wave device to device (mmw-D2D) communication. In order to improve spectrum utilization and transmission rate, we consider assisting IRS by the anti-phase signal reflection to reduce the co-channel interference in indoor mmw-D2D communication. We establish the system model of the IRS selection and enablement on interference elimatation (IRS-SEIE) problem based on integer programming theory. then, we prove that IRS-SEIE problem is an NP-hard problem by transforming it into a knapsack problem. therefore, we propose a heuristic algorithm based on genetic algorithm to obtain the optimal solution. Comparison experiments with particle swarm optimization (PSO), monte carlo (MC) algorithm and without IRS show that proposed algorithm's rate is 24.36%, 48.47% and 103.03% higher than them. And it can also reduce the blocking probability by 25.53%, 45.81% and 62.34%.
