Collective action in the provision of pubic goods is analyzed in the framework of three kinds of public goods dilemmas routinely encountered in real-life situations. We study the evolution of cooperation in structured populations within three PGG models: the traditional public goods game (PGG), complementary public goods game (PPGG) and containable public goods game (TPGG), differing in supplying patterns of public goods. In addition, we extend the combination of dual strategy (cooperation and defection) to a portfolio of multiple strategies. We reveal that, is a fundamental property promoting cooperation in groups of selfish individuals, irrespective of which social dilemma applies. For a parallel comparison, it is found that the system in PGG and PPGG can perform comparatively better than TPGG, which reduces the provision of the public goods. Our study can be helpful in effectively portraying the characteristics of cooperative dilemmas in real social systems.

Division by zero (DBZ) problem, or say, division singularity problem, has perplexed scientists and engineers in many fields for centuries. How to solve DBZ problem has actually been discussed for more than 1200 years. Despondingly, plenty of efforts failed to solve DBZ problem effectively, and it is still considered as a formidable conundrum. this paper introduce an extension of the division operation from a time-varying perspective. Most problems in science and engineering fields are time-varying, and thus the extension is reasonable and practical. Furthermore, by employing the neat gradient-based neurodynamics (or say, gradient neurodynamics) equation different times, a series of different "symbolic" solutions are proposed. Note that the proposed symbolic solutions have the ability to conquer DBZ problem. the symbolic solutions to DBZ problem may promote the development of more complete singularity-conquering applications.

the increasing complexity of scientific experiments puts a large number of requirements on the systems, which need to control and monitor the hardware components required for the experiments. this article discusses three different technologies of developing Human Machine Interface (HMI) for the Piezo control System (PCS) developed at the Lodz University of Technology (TUL). the purpose of the PCS system is compensating the detuning of a superconducting accelerating structure caused by the Lorentz force. A set of full-custom HMI operator panels was needed to operate the prototype device. Recently, image sentiment analysis has become more and more attractive to many researchers due to an increasing number of applications developed to understand images e.g. image retrieval systems and social networks. Many studies aim to improve the performance of the classifier by many approaches. this work aims to predict the emotional response of a person who is exposed to images. the prediction model makes use of eye movement data captured while users are looking at images to enhance the prediction performance. An image can stimulate different emotions in different users depending on where and how their eyes move on the image. Two image datasets were used, i.e. abstract images and images with context information, by using leave-one-user-out and leave-one-image-out cross-validation techniques. It was found that eye movement data is useful and able to improve the prediction performance only in leave-one-image-out cross-validation.

the main goal of this article is to model the thermal transfer phenomenon in a system consisting of a heat source, a heat sink and an ambient by a simple electro-thermal model. the purpose of such modelling is to deliver a computational function of power which can be used to control an IC to achieve its maximum throughput. It is made possible by using an IC and heat sink sensors which communicate information about the IC and the heat sink temperature to the model and make it possible to precisely track the heat transfer in a time domain. this article shows an analytical form of power function and explains the calculations from which the power function is delivered. the last paragraph presents how the RC values were calculated and presents example of possible scenario of heat transfer.

this paper raises the idea of giving end users the ability to modify and extend the control flow constructs (if, while, etc.) of the underlying programming language, just as they can modify and extend the library standard implementation of function printf and class String. Pluggable controllers are means for modular design of control constructors, e.g., if, while, do, switch, and operators such as short circuit conjunction (&&) and the “?.” operator of the Swift programming language. We propose a modular, pluggable controllers based, design of a language. In this design there are control constructors which are core, augmented by a standard library of control constructors, which just like all standard libraries, is extensible and replaceable. the control constructors standard library can then follow a course of evolution that is less coupled withthat of the main language, where a library release does not mandate new language release. At the same time, the library could be extended by individuals, corporate and communities to implement more or less idiosyncratic Nano-Patterns. We demonstrate the imposition of pluggable control constructors on Java by employing Lola-a Turing-complete and programming language independent code preprocessor.

Large-Scale Data Acquisition systems are an essential part in many scientific experiments, and the processing of the large amount of data, represents a challenge in designing systems capable of managing such volume of data. Owing to the nature of this type of experiments, the processes responsible for gathering the data from devices which measure real-world phenomena, and those processes in charge of distributing the data to monitoring and/or controlling systems, shall communicate with accuracy and reliability. By running those processes concurrently in a multi-processor computer system such requirements of accuracy and reliability can be achieved. In this paper, we present the design of a C++ framework which implements a ring-buffer by using shared-memory as a fast mechanism of data communication among processes. Likewise, the framework controls the access to data in the shared ringbuffer by implementing inter-process synchronization objects in shared-memory. the effectiveness of the proposed solution is evaluated by evaluating the latency time from when a new data is written into the shared ring-buffer and the longest instant when such a data is gathered. After the experimental test, the results show that it is possible to develop a C++ framework for helping programmers to create data acquisition system when a large-scale data-stream is involved, getting suitable performance by using shared-memory.
