In this paper, we discuss the existence of oscillatory solutions for the following second order neutral delay differential equations [r(t)phi (x(t) + p(t)x(tau (t)))')]' + Sigma(m)(i=1) f(i)(t, x(g(i)(t))) = q(t) with forced term q(t). Sufficient conditions are highlighted by means of the Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem. It is shown that the particular case when phi(u) = u(beta) also holds, where beta is the ratio of two positive odd integers. Several examples are given to illustrate our main results.

this paper studies the problem of adaptive event-triggered practical tracking control by output feedback for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with function control coefficients and unknown growth rate. Unlike previous studies, the control coefficients are known functions of the output, while the growth rate is an unknown polynomial function of the output. To address this issue, we construct an adaptive observer and two dynamic gains to re-construct the unmeasurable system states. One dynamic high-gain is increasing and could become large enough to compensate the extra nonlinearities from the function control coefficients, the other dynamic gain is designed to counteract the polynomial-function rate. Furthermore, to reduce the frequency of control signal transmissions, we incorporate an event-triggering mechanism based on a fixed threshold strategy. It is proved that the developed control scheme guarantees that all the closed-loop signals are globally bounded, the tracking error can be made arbitrarily small after a finite time and the Zeno-behavior is avoided. A simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Refinery processes are characterized by high energy consumption and extremely long operating regimes. Increasing the profitability of refinery installations can be achieved by implementing optimal controlsystems. Due to the particularity of the processes, the steady-state regimes are particularly important and implicitly the optimal control in steady-state is often used. the paper presents the results of research carried out between 1990 and 2022 in the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, Romania.

this paper exploits gamification to motivate and educate older people to maintain an active lifestyle (physical and cognitive lifestyle). It proposes an application that builds an ecosystem that is driven by a virtual coach which connects games with different applications and devices that are used to generate levels for games adapted to users’ health, wellbeing conditions and previous performances in games that will motivate players in achieving their goals.

In pulse wave analysis used for non-invasive blood flow measurement, obtaining accurate blood pressure waveforms is crucial. this study proposes a method for reconstructing blood pressure waveforms from wrist cuff pressure waveforms based on the non-invasive oscillometric principle. By converting the pressure waveform obtained by applying constant pressure to the wrist into the cuff volume waveform, i.e., the arterial volume waveform, we estimated the blood pressure waveform using the pressure- volume relationship of the radial artery for each individual. the pressure-volume relationship of the radial artery was derived from the oscillogram. the blood pressure waveforms measured in this study were evaluated by comparison with a commercially available non-invasive continuous blood pressure monitoring device (Finometer Pro, Finapres Medical System). the mean +/- standard deviation of RMSE, coefficient of determination, and spectral peak point difference were 10.1 +/- 3.2 mmHg, 0.71 +/- 0.15, and 0.35 +/- 0.82, respectively, indicating significant agreement. Additionally, the error of mean blood pressure (Mean +/- SD) was -4.0 +/- 7.2 mmHg, confirming the potential to extract continuous blood pressure waveforms using a simple wrist-type blood pressure monitor.

Power systems support the operation and development of any economy, in a manner in which the security and efficiency of their operation become crucial for the entire human society. the permanent integration of new technologies for obtaining electricity and the adaptation to the increasingly dynamic profiles of electricity demand requires the creation of a framework for the development and growth of energy systemsthat allows reconfiguration and safe, robust operation right from the conceptual design phase. the current paper addresses this topic, taking into account the main functional aspects and new approaches, based on the combination of the CPS withthe cognitive paradigms.

Pneumonia is one of the top causes of death in Romania and early detection of this disease improves the recovery chances and shortens the length of hospitalization. In this work, we develop a solution for automatic pneumonia detection based on convolutional neural networks. Four network models are investigated. they are trained on 4.163 images from a public dataset and tested on 530 images. the best results are obtained by one of the proposed models conducting to a sensitivity of 98.72%, an accuracy of 89.81%, and ROC 93.46%. thus, this research proposes a lightweight screening tool that can help triaging the patients with pneumonia.
