the problem of collective behavior of autonomous agents is discussed. Based on state dependent communication graphs we analyze a family of non-linear flocking models by establishing sufficient initial conditions so as connectivity and thus asymptotic flocking is ensured. We discuss models with non-linear uniformly bounded connection rates with and without delays.

this paper is concerned with designing a fuzzy robust H-infinity filter for a class of continuous-time nonlinear systems via Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy affine dynamic models based on piecewise Lyapunov functions. Attention is focused on the analysis and design of an admissible full-order filter such that the filtering error dynamics is stochastically stable and a prescribed H-infinity attenuation level is guaranteed. It is assumed that the plant premise variables are not measurable so that the filter implementation with state space partition may not be synchronous with the state trajectories of the plant. Based on piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions (PQLFs) combined with S-procedure and some matrix inequality linearization techniques, some new results are established for filtering design of the underling continuous-time T-S fuzzy affine systems. An examples is given to illustrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed design methods.

In paper, forecasting models using exponential smoothing for Polish coal mining safety accidents are presented. Prior to this, data is analyzed and approach for building forecasting models in Tableau is described in details. three forecasting models are revealed, respectively for all accidents in coal mines, fatal accidents and employment. Received results are promising and confidence intervals cover the predictions well. Improved forecast accuracy with presented models might provide coal mine enterprises more precise data, supporting safety management in those organizations.

In the paper a method of synthesis of a neural controller which goal is to reduce effects of coupling of the nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) plant inputs and outputs is presented. the designed neural controller contains a set of neural nets that determine values of parameters of linear decoupling controllers calculated for the adopted nonlinear plant model at its operating points. A known dynamic decoupling technique is used to generate training and evaluation data for the synthetized neural nets. the resulting neural (gain-scheduling) controller varies its parameters depending on the current plant operating point.

In the paper the problem of action recognition with the help of Markov models is considered. We propose an algorithm aiming at reduction of the false positive rate. We state a hypothesis that these errors are caused by learning gesture sequences representing rare movements and not that containing popular ones. Our algorithm translates the sequence of gestures into the corresponding Markov models which are used for a preliminary classification. the obtained evaluation coefficients (numbers of proper classifications) are then used to determine the best weights in a combined model composed of these models. In order to find a compromise between the number of true positives and the number of false positives, the power function of weights is examined.

In the paper a novel method of analog modeling of fractional order integrators is presented. In particular, two special cases are discussed, i.e. integrators of order alpha = 0.25, and alpha = 0.5. the method proposed is based on the domino ladder approximation of irrational transfer function. It allows to obtain an analog model using only electric elements like resistors and capacitors of standard produced values.

there is presented a method for calculation of inertial model for an open-loop oscillating system based on the system step response. Presented method is simple and can be easily used in automatic control practice. Identified model can be applied in control algorithms more advanced than the PID controller, for instance in the predictive control.

Operating autonomous vehicles safely and efficiently in crowded pedestrian environments is a challenging task, especially with partial observations. this is because autonomous vehicles cannot always determine the current state of the pedestrians and take optimal actions due to limitations of onboard sensors such as visual occlusion. Furthermore, scenarios involving partial observations are normally not included in training data for navigation models as it requires extra hybrid training for various partial observations scenarios. To address this challenge, we propose a novel method that incorporates a transformer-based human multi-modal trajectory prediction model into a deep reinforcement learning framework to determine the optimal driving strategy. Furthermore, we introduce a novel metric and use a subset of observations from an existing pedestrian dataset for the evaluation of crowd prediction and navigation methods under various partial observations scenarios. We also validate the robustness and efficiency of our proposed method through several experiments and compare to the state-of-the-art methods.

this paper presents the architecture of the non-contact sensor for measuring the rope swinging angle in two planes. the sensor were dedicated to the all kind of the crane device, especially to overhead travelling crane. the main objective of this statement applies a solution for improving early developed and described non-contact vision swinging sensor. In the article, the author main attention has been focused on issues related to the possibility of using a "smart camera" device as a full functional contactless two-dimensional sway sensor. All tests and considerations were conducted on the scaled physical model of overhead travelling crane with hosting capability 150kg.

the effect of vignetting is undesirable in image processing and analysis. It cause fall-off of pixel intensity from centre towards edges of the image. In this paper, we propose a new procedure of fast vignetting reduction based on two images acquired with different camera/lens settings. the change of lens aperture or focal length will also change the effect of vignetting in images. these differences are used to estimate a vignetting function, which is used for vignetting reduction. the obtained image after vignetting reduction is not significantly different from the image without vignetting.
