We consider one of the main problems in the field of CAD / CAM, which is feature recognition for CAD models represented in boundary representation form. We take into account volumetric features only. We use the recognition results for CAD model simplification. Our recognition procedures are based on detection of specific patterns in adjacency graphs constructed for the input CAD parts. Recognition procedures for bosses, holes, pockets, and for arbitrary cavities are proposed. Simplification is conducted by suppression of the detected features using a dedicated topological operator. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

Endoscopic surveillance is a common method of monitoring several diseases of the esophagus. Such a surveillance in-cludes the manual matching of images of tissue regions with their earlier observations from previous surveillance operations to control disease dynamics. A scene association algorithm is proposed to automate this process. the algorithm is based on a global approach to image analysis and utilizes construction of neighborhood system for visually resemblant frames. the experimental evaluation of method has been conducted on a set of in vivo endoscopic videos. the article explores the relationship between the current problem and the problem of scene boundary detection. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

the paper describes methods for correcting the results of positioning by automatically recognizing fragments of graphic images that are invariant with respect to affine transformations. Recognition is carried out on the basis of the correlation-extreme contour method. In order to increase the speed and quality of recognition, a method is proposed for the adaptive formation of descriptions of standard images, depending on the projection parameters. the complexity of the proposed recognition method is estimated. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

this article considers the problem of foreground detection on depth maps. Proposed approach to foreground detection is based on medial representation of scene objects silhouettes. Minim cut calculation in medial axes graph allows to detect connected components responsible for separate foreground objects. Proposed method works in real time, it does not require learning procedures and is invariant to camera and objects movement. the method is demonstrated on depth maps obtained from Microsoft Kinect v2 device. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

the article discusses the problems that arise in the development of acoustic 3D-heart models, which are used later for the synthesis of echographic heart images. the synthesis is based on the results of acoustic field distributions calculation in Field II [6], Creanuis [5] and FOCUS [7] software. this paper is devoted to the automatic calibration of surveillance video camera using objects in the scene. In this paper the problem of estimation of three extrinsic parameters (camera height, tilt angle, roll angle) is considered. the idea of baseline method, proposed in [14], is based on convolutional neural network. As input data, head bounding boxes and the camera focal length are used. In this paper, the modification of the baseline method was proposed, and also methods based on random forest and gradient boosting were studied in order to understand the necessity of using neural networks. An experimental evaluation of the proposed methods on synthetic and TownCenter datasets demonstrated their high efficiency. the best results was shown by the proposed method based on neural networks. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

We present an open-source, extensible software which assists in the development of CAD geometric algorithms based on Boundary Representation data structures. the software is coupled with OpenCascade library which is an open-source geometric modeling kernel offering a broad range of modeling operations for the development of multi-purpose CAD systems and utilities. the new software serves as a framework for constructing geometric modeling algorithms. We provide several examples of geometric utilities developed with the help of the present framework. Furthermore, our software offers some advanced facilities for inspection of geometric and topological structures of existing CAD parts which can be imported from any popular CAD system. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

We consider two tasks of reconstruction of quadratic correspondences, formulated in the 19th century, but has not been solved to date. the first task is to build fundamental points of a quadratic transformation of the plane defined by seven pairs of corresponding points. the second problem is connected with the search graphical algorithm of reconstruction of a quadric defined by the nine dots. Interest in these problems at present is completely lost, even though now, thanks to the graphical tools of computer visualization, there is a possibility of their accurate design solutions. Both tasks, considered in article, is united both by common solutions and common tool needed for the constructive implementation of the method. For the decision of tasks used the method of decreasing the size of the array the source data. When you search the fundamental points of a quadratic transformation given 7 pairs of conjugate points, is proposed to temporarily exclude from consideration any pair of conjugate points of data. During the reconstruction of quadric given 9 points, also temporarily eliminated from consideration one of the data points that allows you to build a bundle of quadrics incident eight remaining points. To highlight this beam the desired quadric method is used, sections. A constructive solution of both problems we use a special computer program for drawing conic curves, without the use of which a constructive implementation of the proposed algorithms is impossible. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

In our day it's hard to imagine modern research in sophisticated scientific area without use of visual analytics tools. It's become so common for scientists to obtain conclusions about scientific data on base of visual information as for people in their everyday life to make judgments about things on base of what they see. However, humans are able to receive and analyze information about world around them not only through their eyes, but with help of other sensory stimuli as well. Consequently, it would be not reasonable for researches to limit themselves to only one sensory stimuli in their research. In this work we introduce multisensory analytics approach, discuss theoretical issues, introduce main concepts of software tools implementing our approach, describe one of the possible auditory-visual mappings methods for multidimensional scalar fields analyses, that we called "sound matrices" and give practical examples of multidimensional scalar fields analyses. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.

We consider the problem of the recognition of the typeface and its style on the digital images, such as scanned images and photographs. A method is proposed for detection of font style: normal, italic and serif. the proposed method is based on the contour and skeleton representations of the figure. the slope of the text in the image can be determined using information about the slopes of the edges of the contour representation of the text. It is possible to determine the presence of serifs on the represented letter by the number of edges of its aggregated skeleton. this method is used to pre-filter the font database, resulting in the fact that only the fonts in the desired style are considered as candidates. A further feature description of the image is the set of morphological moments, i.e. functions, which reflect the spatial distribution of the width of individual symbols. To identify the font, a weighted composition of the metric classifiers associated with these functions is constructed. Experiments show that the preliminary style detection, as well as the consideration of the geometric features of letters, increase the quality of recognition in comparison with the method based on the morphological width. © graphicon 2017 - computer graphics and *** right reserved.
