the paper develops a comprehensive framework for analyzing the invariance of polyhedral sets with respect to the trajectories of nonlinear continuous-time dynamic systems. the fundamental contribution consists in stating and proving a general theorem, which takes into account nonlinear time-varying systems and, respectively, polyhedral sets with arbitrary time-dependence. To the intrinsic mathematical value of this result, the work adds the significance of some problems with specific contexts, which can be derived as particular cases of our general setting. At the same time, it is shown that some of these particular cases are correlated with specific invariance properties, which were studied individually, through separate researches. the specificity of the properties refers both to characteristics of dynamics and to subclasses of polyhedral sets.

Model predictive control has emerged as a prominent technique in control engineering due to its ability to handle constraints on bothcontrol signals and system states. this capability makes model predictive control a powerful tool, particularly for complex systems with operational limitations. However, a major challenge associated with model predictive control is the "curse of dimensionality" arising from the constrained optimization problem solved at each time step. this problem becomes computationally expensive as the system dimension increases. this study proposes an accelerated model predictive control algorithm that addresses the curse of dimensionality. We achieve this by solving an equivalent suboptimal model predictive control problem within a reduced-dimensional subspace. the subspace is efficiently calculated using singular value decomposition of the Hessian matrix associated withthe quadratic cost function. An adaptation law dynamically determines the subspace size, balancing accuracy and computational efficiency of the model predictive controlcontroller.

the magnitude frequency-based response data fit-ting mechanism is available for the case of proper or strictly proper linear and time-invariant (LTI) systems. this paper presents an extension to this mechanism for improper single-input and single-output (SISO) systems described by linear differential-algebraic equations (DAEs). Such descriptor models are computed as the solution to an optimization problem formulated as a Log-Chebyshev approximation, with additionally-imposed upper boundness, stability, and minimum phase constraints, useful in the context of robust synthesis. Moreover, a direct implication of such descriptor systems identification in the robust feedback linearization (RFL) control problem is underlined. A numeric example validates the proposed method of descriptor system identification applied to solve an RFL problem.

this paper presents a new quality evaluation method of control assessments used nowadays for induction motor drives systems. To visualize the accuracy of the new evaluation method, a comparative analysis is performed between this new method and the method widely used in modern drive systems, respectively, the spectral analysis method By determining the fractal dimension of temporal variation of the quantities of interest, specific to electrical and mechanical access gates, which represents the proposed method, the established hierarchy was validated, for these assessments, hierarchy obtained using the spectral analysis method the variation of the quantities of interest on the two access gates, electrical and mechanical, was obtained by simulation in PSIM (including the corresponding frequency spectrum), and the determination of the fractal size was performed in MATLAB.

this paper presents a new method of collision checking for non-holonomic dynamical systems in environments with narrow passages. this new method is compared with alternative approaches for collision checking, which are widely used in conjunction with different path planners. All methods are evaluated in a systematic simulation study with numerous scenarios, using two of the most popular path planning methods, Hybrid A* and RRT*. On the one hand, the results show that the new collision checking approach can manage the narrow passages better than the compared methods. On the other hand, its computation time can be longer or shorter, depending on the particular scenario.

this paper shows the development process of a web application for desktop and mobile computers, designed to incorporate a tuning service for PI/PID controllers for processes whose dynamics were identified through a model with a single fractional parameter. Such application relies on a client-server model based on cloud computing, which allows offloading the computation from the restricted resources, and software dependencies in the mobile environment to a remote server in which tuning and simulation are executed in a shorter time. the model to reach such communication in order to achieve optimal performance of the overall system is also presented.

In any epidemic spread there is a group of individuals strongly involved in the diffusion of the infection but without any evidence of infectiousness, like during incubation periods. It is important to estimate this number, in order to adequately allocate resources to face the possible forthcoming epidemic emergency. this is the problem faced in this paper referring to the HIV-AIDS epidemic;this sanitary emergency is peculiar for the long incubation time: it can reach even 10 years, a long period in which the individual can unconsciously infect other subjects. the identification of the number of infected subjects is here obtained by using the extended Kalman filter applied to a noisy model in which only the number of infected diagnosed patients is available. Numerical simulations support the effectiveness of the approach.
