A test system that combines reality and simulation is an urgent requirement for the combat-oriented demonstration and verification of maritime unmanned equipment in complex scenarios. By analyzing the actual demand and outstanding issues related to maritime unmanned equipment testing, and combining this with the characteristics of maritime unmanned equipment testing tasks at the present stage, a framework for a maritime unmanned equipment testing system based on live virtual constructive (LVC) simulation technology has been designed. This system composition has been proposed, and a typical application has been validated. These ideas provide a foundation for the combat-oriented testing of maritime unmanned equipment. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

With the rapid advancement of technology, encoder systems have become key components in automation, robotics, and precision control systems. Encoders, as electromechanical sensors, convert mechanical motion or position into electrical signals that can be processed by control systems. This paper aims to explore various types of encoders, their working principles, and the design optimization of integrated circuit (IC) encoders. First, the definitions and functions of incremental and absolute encoders are introduced. Next, the paper analyzes the working principles of optical and magnetic encoders, with the former known for high resolution and accuracy, making it suitable for precision applications, and the latter offering strong environmental adaptability, ideal for industrial and automotive applications in harsh conditions. Furthermore, the paper examines the signal processing and data conversion processes in IC encoders, focusing on key functions such as noise reduction, signal amplification, and analog-to-digital conversion, and analyzes practical cases of design and layout optimization in IC encoders. In conclusion, the paper points out that as technology progresses, encoder design will continue to evolve in reducing power consumption, improving signal integrity, and optimizing layouts, enhancing the precision and reliability of encoders, and further expanding their value across various industries. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.

The research is devoted to the use of artificial neural networks (ANN) for signal processing. The features of the simplest feed forward neural networks (multilayer perceptrons, MLP) application are analyzed. When using MLP in a sliding time window, it allows to solve problems of signal approximation with high accuracy and to determine their parameters when analyzing dynamic processes. If the signal can be set by analytical formulas with random parameters on separate time intervals, then after training, MLP can be implemented in microprocessor equipment for real-time signal processing. The ANN training algorithms and the errors of the proposed signal processing method are discussed. The approach does not require "deep learning" and a complex ANN structure, it allows one to control the accuracy of algorithms at intermediate stages of calculations. The results are of interest for electrical engineering and smart energy systems. © 2023 SPIE

Applying deep learning network models in SAR image processing has significantly improved speed of target recognition performance. Nevertheless, due to the SAR imaging principle distinct from optical images, these models struggle to distinguish strong scattering characteristics from clutter, resulting in a high false alarm rate in applications of target recognition. To ensure correctness practically, the expert analysis for discern various structures is strongly necessary for fine-grained recognition after possessing through integrating intelligent models, with extra time and manpower cost. This study introduces a fine-grained recognition framework for ship targets in SAR images based on component architecture. A ship targets dataset from Gaofen-3 SAR images, with three classified ship types is designed to train the model, including meticulous analysis and labeling for target categorization, axis orientation, and key component localization. Features of different dimensions extracted via pre-trained ResNet-50 to construct a weight dossier, and a multi-task joint detection mode are embedded into the framework to integrate the experts' ship recognition method built on component architecture into the intelligent network model. This yields an accuracy rate surpassing 89% for ship identification, eclipsing conventional intelligence models by a significant margin. The framework successfully bolsters the ability of target awareness affiliated with SAR ocean monitoring. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a frequency control (FC) scheme for radar systems that aims to improve target tracking accuracy under dynamic jamming environments. Specifically, the radar must alter the transmit frequency to reduce the impact of jamming. To combat the dynamic jammer, we construct FC as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) within a reinforcement learning framework. By applying a policy iteration technique to the MDP, an optimal strategy can be learned guiding the radar how to choose the transmit frequency at every frame. Since the entire target tracking process is real-time, a trade-off method is to balance the relationship between the model update and FC scheme utilization until online tracking process is over. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method can evidently beat the dynamic jamming and improve the target tracking accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Machine Learning Algorithms have found their application is all the domain of engineering. In this work, we try to compare the performance of traditional signal processing algorithms and neural networks for the calculation of Discrete Fourier Transform. The Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) is of greater importance in all areas of digital signal processing. Calculating the frequency spectrum of a signal is the fundamental goal of DFT. The phase, frequency, and magnitude of a signal's component sinusoids are all contained in its frequency spectrum. Given the importance of DFT, it is necessary to evaluate which algorithm or method is efficient and takes very less time in computing the results. In this paper, two different methods, namely Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), which is a tradition signal processing algorithm and Deep Neural Networks (DNN) are used to compute DFT on a random discrete signal and are compared based on the time taken to execute the algorithms. © 2022 IEEE.

Currently, intelligent algorithms are widely used in the field of image processing to reduce the impact of fog on images. Surgical imaging systems are medical imaging devices used in surgical operations. With the continuous improvement of medical imaging technology and the application of advanced intelligent algorithms in medical devices, laparoscopic surgery is increasingly replacing traditional open surgery. However, due to the difference in temperature inside and outside the abdomen, lens fogging during laparoscopic surgery can affect the surgical field of view and interfere with the surgical process. The intelligent temperature balance control system, as a new technology, aims to improve the imaging field of view at different temperatures by combining hardware design with intelligent imaging algorithms. However, there is currently no evidence in the literature to support the anti-fog effect of surgical imaging systems equipped with this function. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the advantages of surgical imaging systems equipped with the intelligent temperature balance control algorithm in clinical applications through comparative testing experiments and the use of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) tools and methods. © 2023 SPIE.

Aiming at the needle valve type flow regulation control system parameters are easy to change and accuracy requirements of high problems, this paper studies the flow control problems in the control system. Firstly, according to the system characteristics and control principle of needle valve type flow control valve, we establish the mathematical model of flow control valve. Then this paper applies the BAS algorithm to the PID control parameters for global optimization, and inputs the optimal parameters into the PID controller. Finally, Simulink software is used to simulate the PID control and improved PID control method based on the BAS algorithm, and simulation results show that compared with the traditional PID control method, the PID controller based on BAS algorithm shows more significant stability and high efficiency in the flow regulation, and improves the flow control accuracy. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. Digital watermarking of interactive media content has become an active experimentation field in recent years. In addition to reviewing some of the methods that have been developed for various media types;a general structure for watermark engrafting and identification is outlined. We highlight a few of these application-oriented differences, including copyright protection, substantiation, tamper identification, and data hiding, as well as the technological and system conditions for different media types such as digital photos, digital files, digital audio, and text. We describe a general structure for digital watermarking-based image copyright protection in this approach. In this paper, we outline the pre-processing and implementation of tide marking technique where Twofish algorithm and double encryption is described. The image processing toolbox is also specified by comparing five different image processing techniques. In addition, the post implementation is carried out with the wavelet toolbox and matlab coder to analyze signal, image properties and generate the efficient code for embedding the text. © 2024 IEEE.

The increasing use of modular multilevel converters (MMCs) raises system stability concerns, such as instability in a wide frequency range. Accurate stability analysis of such systems thus is urgently demanded. In this regard, the small signal modeling of the system can be described by a set of linear time-periodic (LTP) differential equations involving time delays, which requires much more effort. A generalization of the ordinary differential equation (ODE)-based harmonic state space (HSS) framework to delayed differential equations (DDEs), HSS-DDE for short, has been proposed to tackle time delays and periodicity within a unified framework. However, the authors found in practical application that this model produces erroneous results when the time delay involved is not an integer multiple of the period. Therefore, this paper first intensively analyzes the limitations of the HSS-DDE model, and then introduces the time-periodic infinitesimal generator and partial discretization idea to reconstruct an improved model that is not affect by the relationship between time delays and period. Thus, the stability of delayed periodic systems can be readily studied. The results of a numerical example and the grid-connected MMC system verify the accuracy and validity of the proposed model.
