Many studies on remote sensing monitoring of plant diseases have been conducted. Remote sensing (RS) has played an important role in monitoring some kinds of plant diseases and making decisions for the management of the diseases. Progress on remote sensing monitoring of wheat stripe rust in China was summarized from four aspects including remote sensing monitoring stripe rust of single wheat leaves and monitoring this disease using ground, aerial and space remote sensing technologies. The phenomena of same object with different spectra and different objects with same spectrum, the lowest threshold of disease prevalence for remote sensing monitoring, the spectral information distilling technologies, and the methods to develop inversion models based on spectral information were also discussed. Moreover, the development trends of multi-pest remote sensing, space remote sensing and integrated utilization of RS, geographical information system (GIS) and global positioning system (GPS) in monitoring wheat stripe rust were prospected.

We synthetically applied computer vision, genetic algorithm and artificial neural network technology to automatically identify the tomatoes that had physiological diseases. Firstly, the tomatoes' images were captured through a computer vision system. Then to identify cavernous tomatoes, we analyzed the roundness and detected deformed tomatoes by applying the variation of fruit's diameter. Secondly, we used a Genetic Algorithm. (GA) trained artificial neural network. Experiments show that the above methods can accurately identify tomatoes' shapes and meet requests of classification;the accuracy rate for the identification for tomatoes with physiological diseases was up to 100%.

Programmable vertex processing unit increases the programmability and enables customizations of transformation and lighting in the graphics pipeline. Furthermore, it offers various effects such as procedural vertex animation and deformation, which were impossible to handle in fixed vertex processing. Since it is hard to find a programmable graphics hardware for the embedded systems such as mobile phones, we’ve designed and implemented a programmable vertex processing unit based on the OpenGL ES 2.0 specification. In this paper, we explain the architecture, instruction format, implementation and test results of our vertex processing unit. © ifip international Federation for Information Processing 2006.

Traditionally, the goal for positioning middleware is to provide developers with seamless position transparency, i.e., providing a connection between the application domain and the positioning sensors while hiding the complexity of the positioning technologies in use. A key part of the hidden complexity is the uncertainty associated to positions caused by inherent limitations when using sensors to convert physical phenomena to digital representations. We propose to use the notion of seamful design for developers to design a positioning middleware that provides transparent positioning and still allows developers some control of the uncertainty aspects of the positioning process. The design presented in this paper shows how uncertainty of positioning can be conceptualized and internalized into a positioning middleware. Furthermore, we argue that a developer who is interacting with uncertainty concepts is best supported when provided with a programming method with declarative constructs. © 2010 ACM.

Drought has been one of the most frightening natural calamity that is being faced by the humans., and it is generally faced by the farmers all around the world. It can occur anywhere in the world and is also known as one of the slow disaster as it stays for a very longer time period and maybe even more if it wants to be harsher. Drought not only impacts the human life but also the agriculture, world economies and energy that had been infiltrated by the farmers. Everything goes on stakes during this calamity and the basic needs such as food are not easy to get during these times and the inflammation is at peak due to supply and demand instability. There are many ways which can be done to avoid the drought, which include drip irrigation to save water during the times of drought, rainwater harvesting can also be a saviour, crop engineering, desalination of water and many more things. The main solution for this would be to analyse the weather and the future outcomes of it which would help in preparing for the worse situation and also the soil prediction can help a lot when it comes to predicting this situation. The paper aims to take the data of weather and soil together to predict how droughts can be avoided. Deep learning techniques will help to get a great idea if the drought is going to happen or not. © 2022 IEEE.

In a Smart Grid communication network at the power distribution level, several technologies have been suggested to meet communication needs. In this work these technologies are compared with an explanation of why wireless communication technologies may be most suitable. A wireless mesh network architecture is proposed to meet communication requirements of the power distribution system. Subsequently, a performance evaluation exploring connectivity and end-to-end delay when routing packets in this mesh architecture is done for the power grid topology. Optimizations are proposed to enhance overall communication performance, with specific recommendations made on node density, antenna transmission power levels, and application data rate. It is fundamental for the kinematics simulation and mechanism design to apply the visualization in scientific computing on the simulation research of 3D mechanism. It is also the basis of independent development for 3D CA software without any copyright limit. This paper offered a parameterized kinematics simulation template for 3D mechanism based on the visualization in scientific computing, in which the open graphics library is applied by MFC compiler. This paper illuminates the fundamental principle of the simulation development applying the OpenGL technology. The principle of OpenGL, the procedure structure, the working flow of OpenGL, the concept of program designing and the code implementation based on VC++ is demonstrated and an application approach for mechanism simulation is developed under the MFC environment.

This paper presents a set of protocols, a decentralized application (dApp), and a robust smart contract built in Solidity to simplify drone registration and automate ownership transfer using blockchain networks. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), more commonly called drones, have attracted a lot of attention from various industries, such as security, agriculture, and logistics making effective registration, tracking, and ownership verification systems necessary. Using the built-in advantages of blockchain technology such as decentralization, transparency, etc. ensures that registration and any ownership transfer executes in a transparent, tamper-proof manner. The suggested smart contract not only makes it easy for users and their drones to register but also frees central authorities from the responsibilities of keeping user/drone data safe in centralized servers. It can be a reliable framework for tracking the history of drones from their initial registration to any ownership transfer, thereby creating a trustworthy environment. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a thorough analysis of the design and execution of a smart greenhouse system that makes use of machine learning and IoT technology. By automating critical procedures, improving monitoring capabilities, and providing predictive analytics for optimal plant growth and disease detection, the system seeks to completely transform conventional greenhouse agriculture. The greenhouse atmosphere is dynamically maintained by the integration of IoT-enabled actuators controlled by a WiFi module (ESP32). Fans, servo motors, mist sprays, lights, and pumps are automated to maintain ideal conditions. Real-time access to environmental factors is facilitated by cloud-based data storage and remote monitoring. Furthermore, plant growth and disease detection can be predicted using machine learning techniques on Raspberry Pis. A CNN model has been customised to identify specific plant diseases. Additionally, energy efficiency and environmental control are improved by the use of a vortex tube in a new drying and cooling system. Accurate soil moisture measurements are possible using a moisture metre based on microclimate conditions, which improves irrigation management. By addressing the issues with traditional greenhouse agriculture, this comprehensive strategy uses cutting-edge technologies to open the door for productive and sustainable crop production. © 2024 IEEE.
