Design pattern describes a repeatedly presenting issue during software designing, as well the solution to it. Applying design pattern enables developers to reuse it to solve a specified designing issue. Design patterns help designers communicate architectural knowledge, help people learn a new design paradigm, and help new developers avoid traps and pitfalls that have traditionally been learned only by costly experiences. In this paper, we briefly introduce the concept of software design pattern and give a research on some design patterns, including Observer Pattern, Decorator Pattern, Factory Method Pattern and Abstract Factory Pattern.

Aiming at inherent fuzzy and uncertainty in HoQ, rough set theory with its basic principles was introduced. Rough number was proposed for the impersonal importance rating of customer requirements. The calculation of the relationship measure between customer requirements and technical characteristics, self-correlation of technical characteristics were transformed into the importance calculation of condition attributes in decision system, according to the definition of condition entropy and mutual information, an improved algorithm of attributes importance was proposed for enhance their accuracy. An integer-programming model was constructed and solved with objective to minimal deviation variable between decision and object value of usable resource for optimization configuration of technical characters. Sequentially the mapping from customer requirements to technical characters was realized. Finally, verification results by a thrust bearing design case show that the proposed method is feasible and effective.

Patterns only give you a general rule not code. Patterns show you how to build systems with good OO design qualities. Most of them address issues of change in software and allow some part of a system to vary independently of all other parts by trying to take what varies in a system and encapsulate it. Patterns also provide a shared language that can maximize the value of your communication with other developers. In this paper, we briefly introduce the concept of software design pattern and give a research on some design patterns including Strategy Pattern, Iterator Pattern, Adapter Pattern and Façade Pattern.

For the variable-spray control system based on machine vision, it is highly required to real-time image acquisition, processing as well as drive the actuator rapidly and stably. To reduce the developing cycle andprogramming difficulty, VB program language is used for its high executive efficiency to collect real-time information and control signals; meanwhile, MATLAB software is adopted for its excellent image processing function. A novel real and simulation converter system has been designed, which consists of real control and operating consoles with hardware controllers and marine engine room simulation system. In this paper, the system configurations are reviewed and applied to the liquefied natural gas ship (LNGS). The detailed mathematic models of LNGS propulsion system have been established, then the simulation models with computer programming language have been presented. Now this system has been used in real LNGS control and simulation training.

Short-term scheduling of cascaded hydroelectric plants is discussed in this paper. Water head effects are considered and a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) formulation is established. The main contribution of the paper is that a systematic method is established such that the complex multivariable production functions of hydro units can be approximated by a piecewise linear function. A flexible simplex-based partition of the domain of the production function is presented. Numerical testing is performed for a test example with 3 reservoirs and 12 hydro units by using CPLEX. The results suggest that the MILP model presented in this paper is efficient and effective.
