This paper presents a design and realization method for remote video monitoring system based on embedded Linux and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network. Monitor terminal hardware takes ARM9 S3C2410 processor for centralization, in virtue of SDRAM, USB, GPRS module, etc. Software system adopts embedded linux, the main function realized by C programming to achieve real-time camera data acquisition, image compression and network transmission through GPRS module. Monitoring center receives image data and displays after connects with the terminal. It is easier to be used in windows system. Image data can be transmitted to the monitoring center in 3-6 seconds after JPEG compression. The results showed that the monitoring system has the advantage of high reliability, high efficiency and low cost with ARM9 and GPRS network, and it provides a feasible method for remote video monitoring.

Accurate, precise and reliable estimates of effort at early stages of project development holds great significance for the industry to meet the competitive demands of today's world. The inherent imprecision present in the inputs of the algorithmic models like constructive cost model (COCOMO) yields imprecision in the output, resulting in erroneous effort estimation. The development of software is characterized by parameters that possess certain level of fuzziness which requires that some degree of uncertainty be introduced in the models, in order to make the models realistic. Fuzzy logic based cost estimation models enable linguistic representation of the input and output of a model to address the vagueness and imprecision in the inputs, to make reliable and accurate estimates of effort. In this paper, we present an enhanced fuzzy logic based framework for software development effort prediction. The intermediate COCOMO is extended in the proposed study by incorporating the concept of fuzziness into the measurements of size, mode of development for projects and the cost drivers contributing to the overall development effort. The said framework tolerates imprecision, incorporates experts knowledge, explains prediction rationale through rules, offers transparency in the prediction system, and could adapt to changing environments with the availability of new data.

Accurate cancer diagnosis can be achieved by performing microarray expression data classification. Various technology, including Support Vector Machines (SVMs), K Nearest Neighbor method (KNN), Neuro-Fuzzy models(NF), Neural Network (NN), etc. have been applied to analyze microarray expression data. In this paper, Complex Network based on genetic programming and particle swarm optimization is proposed for analyzing microarray expression data. We propose an automatic method for constructing and evolving our complex network model. The structure of complex network is evolved using genetic programming, and the fine tuning of the parameters encoded in the structure is accomplished using particle swarm optimization algorithm. The relative performances of our model are reported. The results are comparable to those previously obtain.

The most common artificial intelligence in a racing game is waypoint navigation by carefully placing points (nodes) in the game environment to move the game-controlled characters between each point. This kind of pathfinding algorithm is a very time consuming and CPU intensive problem. In this paper, we present an algorithm to reduce the consuming time and simplify the implementation process. We simply put two collision detection points in front of the right and left side of the car, and then utilize the trick of collision detection by different color to automatic move the cars around the racetrack. In our algorithm, two adjusted variables have been carefully studied. The first variable is the collision detection distance, and the second variable is the turning radian of the car when collision is detected. The experimental results show that the lap time decreases as the collision detection distance increases, when the car do not stick by any curve. That is, the lap time decreases while the collision detection point is far from the car. It is because the car has more time to perceive the edge of motordrome to respond the collision. Similarly, the turning radian of the car increases, the time needs for turning the curve decreases, causing a decrease in lap time. However, when the cars change the racetrack from straight to the more curvature curve, or meet the successive curve in a short distance, large value of the collision detection distance or turning radian will cause the car stick in the corner of racetrack.

An approximate algorithm, which is used to solve distance calculation problem in overlapped frequency division multiplexing (OVFDM) communication system, is presented in this paper. The distance calculation problem in OVFDM system is a { -2,0,2 } combinatorial optimization problem. It is NP-hard. Our approximate algorithm for this problem uses the semi-definite relaxation method and rounding technique. So this algorithm is solvable in polynomial time and numerical results show that the algorithm is indeed efficient.

Emerging trends in software development has been changed due to the huge amount of data, growth of internet, mobile, dynamic and smart applications. Most of such applications consist of small, intelligent, flexible and distributed components known as agents. Number of agent methodologies has been presented but few of these are evaluated and verified. Due to the invention of agent technology, the way to analyze, design and build the systems has been changed. Agents take input from the multiple sources and have real time response. Vehicle traffic management especially in large cities is rapidly becoming one of the major challenges due to heavy growth in population and vehicles. Our research proposed a solution for traffic control and management system using intelligent/ autonomous agents technology. These agents have the ability to observe, act and learn from their experience. Our system uses the knowledge of flow of previous signal to predict the incoming flow for the next signal. The proposed architecture involves the video analysis and exploration using some machine learning techniques to estimate and guess the flow of traffic.

LabVIEW is an innovative product of National Instruments Corporation which is a virtual instrument development environment marked by graphical software programming method and the integrated development environment [7]. This paper focuses on the air-conditioning system of venue and audience area in a university gymnasium, then lays out the measuring points of various parameters needed for monitoring and controlling,furthermore selects the type of components in the hardware of virtual air-conditioning control system,while uses LabVIEW software platform to develop the software of virtual air-conditioning control system, finally debugs and improves the entire virtual air-conditioning control system. A necessary information database can be established by the use of computer virtual air-conditioning control system for air conditioning units. The temperature and humidity of air supply,temperature and humidity of indoor air-conditioned room,temperature and humidity outdoor as well as the speed of air supply,air return and fresh air can be measured comprehensively and timely through the telemetry system measurements. In this way,we can keep abreast of operating conditions of air-conditioning system,thus guiding cold and heat source to run more effectively and efficiently.

As the world we are living in is three or more dimensions, we have to reconstruct the world in three dimension (3D). However, the world is composed of various things which have different modes, states and attributes. In certain applications, the emphases are put on certain special objects, it is unpractical and unnecessary to describe and express them in a way. Therefore we just need to construct the interesting objects in true 3D reconstruction. The surrounding things can be expressed by other way. So, the paper puts forward that adopting Java 3D to express the interesting objects and adopting panoramic images to be their environments, and the relationships of each panoramic scene are expressed in the 2D map. So, this hybrid approach mainly contains two techniques, the one is how to show the interesting by Java 3D, the other one is the stitching of the panoramic images, which is relatively mature, the data collection is inexpensive, light and handy in the total process, and it is could be adopted as panorama by open source. The experiments show that the hybrid method and the reconstructed object height proposed by the paper are much validated and something useful is obtained.

In securities markets, the expected rates of security returns are difficult to estimate precisely due to many uncertainties. In this paper, the author deals with the returns on securities in fuzzy terms. We use fuzzy number to deal with the uncertainty. Considering the three factors (return, risk and liquidity), we obtain a portfolio selection model based on the weighted possibilistic mean and variance of fuzzy numbers. A numerical example of a portfolio selection problem is given to illustrate our proposed approaches.
