The paper proposes an approach to the numerical solving the problem of determining the parameters of a two-dimensional mathematical model of oil filtration. The parameters are determined on the class of piecewise constant functions. It is important that in this case the problem is not only to identify parameters values, but also to identify the parameters constancy boundaries. The approach is based on reducing the initial identification problem to a finite-dimensional optimization problem of a network structure. To solve this finite-dimensional optimization problem we obtain formulas for the gradient of the functional in the space of coefficient values that determine the process parameters and the domain of constancy of the coefficients. These formulas allow to use effective first-order optimization methods, in particular, the gradient method. Some of the results of the carried out computer experiments are given. The obtained results show the efficiency of the proposed approach to the numerical solving the identification problem.

This paper outlines a method for solving the game problem of convergence of the generalized quasi-linear non-stationary system trajectory with the cylindrical terminal set whose body part depends on time. The method of resolving functions stands for the theoretical basis of investigation. We examine the situation when Pontryagin's condition, reflecting an advantage in control resources of one of the opposing sides, does not hold. Because of this, with the help of a certain scalar function, we construct the modified condition. This function is called the function of time dilation. Fulfillment of this condition provides an opportunity for the pursuer, based on the Filippov-Castaing theorems on measurable choice, to build control which guarantees successive solution of the problem at hand. In so doing, the technique of set-valued mapping and their selections is applied. The process of convergence consists of two parts - active and passive. control of the first player is constructed in view of his opponent's control in the past, namely with a certain time delay depending on the function of time dilation. We obtain sufficient conditions for convergence in a finite time in the class of quasi-strategies, and, under additional conditions, in the class of stroboscopic strategies with delay.

Numerical methods are employed to address an inverse problem associated with a water distribution network characterized by a complex loopback structure. The problem is to ascertain the locations and magnitudes of leaks based on measurements of unsteady flow characteristics at certain points in the pipeline. Key aspects of the problem include the involvement of impulse functions within a system of hyperbolic differential equations, the lack of traditional initial conditions, and the specification of nonseparated boundary conditions between states at the endpoints of adjacent pipeline segments. The problem is transformed into a parametric optimal control problem, devoid of initial conditions but featuring nonseparated boundary conditions. The latter problem is tackled using first-order optimization methods. The paper presents the outcomes of numerical experiments. Notably, this research distinguishes itself from others by addressing the inverse problem of determining leak locations and magnitudes within an unsteady flow scenario in a water distribution network with a complex (loopback) structure, as opposed to studies focusing on steady flow or transient flow in simpler pipeline configurations.

The paper presents a numerical methodology for solving high-dimensional discrete dynamical systems characterized by a block structure with boundary conditions that are non-separated between blocks. Direct application of classical methods of transferring boundary conditions is inefficient, since the block structure of the conditions, as for many other classes of problems, allows to speed up their solution considerably. In this approach the decomposition of complex processes into simpler sub-processes with known mathematical models is used, and the decomposition of a complex process is performed in such a way that the intermediate states of sub-processes do not affect each other, i.e. they are independent, and the connection between sub-processes is implemented only through their input and output states. In this case, as a rule, the conditions determining the links between sub-processes are characterized by poorly occupied Jacobi matrices. In the paper formulas that perform transferring of non-separated boundary conditions are presented and practical results demonstrating the efficacy of the proposed approach on a test problem are provided.

Satellite attitude control for nanosatellites is important research topic since the number of launched nanosatellites increasing year by year. Magnetic actuators are one of the most popular attitude control systems for them. A magnetic torquer is basic wrapped wire which current passes through itself. Interaction between generated magnetic dipole and magnetic field of Earth creates torque. It is also possible to use this magnetic torque to obtain three axis attitude control. PD controllers are basic control methods, that also can be applied to attitude control problem of a nanosatellite by magnetorquers. Accuracy of the controller can be affected from the gains. In this study, particle swarm optimization method is used to present a basic way to tune gains of PD controller for an accuracy increment. On the other hand, attitude knowledge of a satellite can be obtained from different attitude sensors. Since there is noise on these sensors, it is not possible to obtain exact knowledge of attitude. TRIAD (three axis attitude determination) method is used in this work with Earth-Sun sensors and magnetometer. Also, to decrease the effect of noise on the determination results, a basic Kalman filter is used. Simulation results show that, the proposed optimization strategy to optimize PD gains for nanosatellite attitude control with noisy measurements works well.
