Fourier transform as a mathematical tool plays an important role in timbre recognition technology because of its ability to realize the conversion of time domain signals into frequency domain signals so that sounds can be parametrically analyzed according to their frequencies and perform timbre feature extraction to achieve timbre similarity recognition and classification. This paper analyzes and composes the principles and practical applications of Fourier transform in multi-dimensional timbre feature extraction according to the current research status. This paper will first introduce the basic theory of musical timbre similarity recognition, i.e., the definition of timbre and the main steps of timbre recognition, focusing on one of the most important steps of timbre recognition - the timbre feature extraction stage. Secondly, this paper makes a comparative study on the principle of using Fractional Fourier Transform (FRFT), Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Short-term Fourier Transform (STFT) descriptors in the Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficient (MFCC), and the Infinite Impulse Response Constant Q Transformation (IIR-CQT). Then this research analyzed and compared the performance of these methods using Fourier transform to extract timbre features.

While recent stereo images retrieval techniques have been developed based mainly on statistical approaches, this work aims to investigate deep learning ones. More precisely, our contribution consists in designing a two-branch neural networks to extract deep features from the stereo pair. In this respect, a 3D residual network architecture is first employed to exploit the high correlation existing in the stereo pair. This 3D model is then combined with a 2D one applied to the disparity maps, resulting in deep feature representations of the texture information as well as the depth one. Our experiments, carried out on a large scale stereo image dataset, have shown the good performance of the proposed approach compared to the state-of-the-art methods.

Few-shot image generation, which aims to generate images from only a few images for a new category, has attracted some research interest in recent years. However, existing few-shot generation methods only focus on 2D images, ignoring 3D information. In this work, we propose a few-shot generative network which leverages 3D priors to improve the diversity and quality of generated images. Inspired by classic graphics rendering pipelines, we unravel the image generation process into three factors: shape, viewpoint and texture. This disentangled representation enables us to make the most of both 3D and 2D information in few-shot generation. To be specific, by changing the viewpoint and extracting textures from different real images, we can generate various new images even in data-scarce settings. Extensive experiments show the effectiveness of our method.

Information support systems for coping with and mastering increasing process complexity are becoming a success factor for many companies. The information systems available today are predominantly implemented as mobile applications and, as the range of functions grows, place increasingly high demands on the user interface. To reduce the cognitive load, these are tailored to the user and are limited in functionality or require special training, which is costly and impractical for some user groups. Current voice interaction interfaces offer advantages in this context, but the communication of data to the user can be done more meaningfully and clearly in graphical or multimodal form. Furthermore, both interaction modes neglect essential sources of information in industrial and logistics use cases, such as available information about documents and physical properties of objects. Methodologically, this contribution proceeds as follows: First, a literature review was conducted on Cognitive Load theory, Human-computer Interaction, Social Response theory, and the cooperative principle of conversation with a focus on human-machine interaction. Subsequently, expert interviews on relevant application areas in the field of production and logistics were conducted in order to identify use cases and derive system requirements. Based on the findings, a concept for an stationary adaptive multimodal information system was developed, which, to our knowledge, does not exist yet due to the combination of a 2D/3D scanner and conversational intelligence and can be used to improve human-machine interaction in the context of Industry 5.0. © 2023 The Authors. Metaverse, a virtual world, is developing rapidly and is widely used in multi-sector. The number of users is projected to increase year over year. Due to the development of the metaverse platform, digital asset creation is demanding. Creating high-quality and diverse 3D digital objects is challenging. This study proposes the frameworks for integrating generative AI to create diverse 3D assets into the metaverse. We study different approaches for asset creation, i.e., generative 3D model-based, generative image projection-based, and generative language script-based. Creators can use this workflow to optimize the creation of 3D assets. Moreover, this study compares the results of generative AI and procedural generation on generating diverse 3D objects. The result shows that generative AI can simplify 3D creation and generate more diverse objects.

Nowadays, with open information and the development of digital technology, designers combine computer and graphic designs. The powerful computing power of computers can transform previously inexpressible graphic ideas into reality and replace manual labor to improve design productivity. Due to the randomness and uncontrollability of graphics, the application of fractal graphics in design is mostly limited. Therefore, practice is conducted through generative and exploratory design methods to discuss the theory of fractal generation technology and basic composition methods and simulates them. The research proves that the fractal graph automatically generated by the computer breaks the thinking of traditional graphic design, broadens the field of graphic design, and promotes the development of the digital graphic design. More importantly, the computer helps designers visualize the interpretation of many rational theorems, and the design method can be profoundly changed.

DNA sequencing is a critical tool in genetics, helping to identify disease-causing mutations, predict disease risks, screen for genetic diseases, and monitor disease progression. By determining the order of nucleotides that make up DNA, DNA sequencing allows for the identification of genetic information in specific DNA fragments, entire genomes, or complex micro-biomes. It has transformed disease diagnosis and treatment and has applications in biotechnology, forensic science, and evolutionary biology. Comparing DNA sequences helps researchers identify genetic disorders, cancers, and antibody repertoires, leading to tailored treatments for individual patients. However, the diagnosis of diseases using DNA requires an efficient algorithm due to the large number of nucleotides in DNA sequences. The hash-based approach, an optimal string pattern-matching algorithm, is used to identify relevant patterns in DNA sequences. This approach has shown significant improvement in speed compared to the single pattern matching approach for finding multiple string patterns and a parallelized approach for hash based using GPU is also proposed.

This study addresses the urgent transmission of meteorological messages in the event of terrestrial communication system failures, by constructing a bipartite graph prediction model to explore effective methods for sharing meteorological message information between main stations within a limited time frame. Initially, the study established a model that effectively predicts and optimizes the scheme for transmitting meteorological messages between N main stations within K minutes. Furthermore, in response to the high reliability requirement of ensuring successful transmission from at least one substation, this research proposed and validated transmission models under three scenarios of main station reception: no messages received, one message received, and two messages received. Additionally, the study enhanced the model's predictive accuracy and practicality across various scenarios through the use of weighted average and binomial distribution methods. Overall, this research provides a theoretical foundation and practical solutions for the rapid and accurate transmission of meteorological messages under extreme conditions, significantly enhancing the efficiency and reliability of meteorological information transmission.

Realistic animations of 3D models are currently very complex, and to stream them over a network in real-time, it is necessary to use compression. Currently, many different methods can be used. Some of them use skeleton transformation as an approximation of the animation, others use remeshing for decreasing mesh complexity. In this paper, a novel method of 3D animation compression is presented. It is based on reconstructing a 3D mesh from a 2D displacement texture and subsequent skeletal skinning enhanced by a surface tuning. The tuning is performed by displacing the skinned vertices according to high-frequency details encoded in a Differential Texture since the output of the skinning is just an approximation of the original animation. Skinning weights are encoded in another new texture type - Skinning Map. In each frame of the streaming animation, just a new skeleton pose and the Differential Texture are needed to be sent. The proposed method has a high compression ratio for various animations because the pose is a small data structure and the Differential Texture contains just high-frequency details and on top of that, it can be compressed as video. Furthermore, differences between original and reconstructed animation are minimal, as evidenced by visual and numerical comparisons.

This paper introduces and compares two approaches for remotely rendering 3D environments in Extended Reality (XR) applications. The first approach utilizes a single 360-degree video stream, effectively eliminating motion-to-photon latency during head rotation and enabling scalable deployment across various Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs) for non-interactive XR environments. However, this approach compromises display quality and reduces 3D immersion. In contrast, the second approach employs two virtual cameras to generate stereo video, leading to better bandwidth efficiency, higher image fidelity, and en-hanced 3D immersion. Yet, it introduces greater implementation complexity, necessitates HMD-specific camera configurations, and may increase motion-to-photon latency. Implementation specifics are detailed for 3D environments created in Unity, which are applicable similarly to Unreal Engine. Both rendering pipelines are integrated into a gaming engine-agnostic remote rendering framework utilizing WebRTC. The evaluation of both approaches considers quantitative metrics and qualitative assessments to determine their efficacy.
