This research intends to solve the virtual wardrobe problem for physically impaired. It is difficult for the physically impaired to try out outfits by themselves in a trial room. It is far more convenient for them to try the outfits virtually. To best of our knowledge, there is no such system for the physically disabled. Our approach is to solve this problem using head gestures and voice commands. We intend to solve this problem using Kinect Head Tracking and Voice Recognition features. Pitching their heads right or left, they can navigate through the items and blinking allows to select. The system will be designed with friendly interface, simple process and easy operations for the physically impaired to use with ease.

Visual tracking is a challenging problem in computervision, especially when the camera platform is moving. To track a target pedestrian from a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) mobile platform, multiple techniques, such as motion control of UAV, visual detection and tracking are needed. This study presents a new tracking method, which mainly involves object tracking, pedestrian detection and online color feature matching. The algorithm of the proposed method has two main components: a median flow tracker and a pedestrian detection which is based on fast feature pyramids. The proposed tracking method is thoroughly evaluated on various public videos and real scene videos from UAV cameras, and compared with existing state-of-the-art tracking methods to show its effectiveness.

This paper presents an unsupervised visual theme discovery framework as a better (more compact and effective) alternative for semantic representation of visual contents. Firstly, a tag filtering algorithm was proposed focusing on the tag's ability of visual content description. Then a spectral clustering algorithm is applied to cluster tags into visual themes based on their visual similarity and semantic similarity measures. User studies have been conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and rationality of the discovered visual themes and obtain promising results. Additionally, two common computervision tasks, example based image search and keyword based image search to explore potential applications of the proposed framework. The experimental results show that visual themes significantly outperform tags on semantic image understanding and achieve state-of-art performance in these two tasks.

Searching a suitable parking space in populated metropolitan city is extremely difficult for drivers. Serious traffic congestion may occur due to unavailable parking space. Automatic smart parking system is emerging field and attracted computervision researchers to contribute in this arena of technology. In this paper, we have presented a vision based smart parking framework to assist the drivers in efficiently finding suitable parking slot and reserve it. Initially, we have segmented the parking area into blocks using calibration. Then, classify each block to identify car and intimate the driver about the status of parking either reserved or free. Potentially, the performance accuracy of recommended system is higher than state of the art hardware solutions, validating the supremacy of the proposed framework.

Scene classification is an extremely challenging task owing to the complexity of the scene content. In this paper, a novel method is designed to harvest the discriminative representation for the scene classification. The proposed model simultaneously takes both discriminative patches and entire scene image into consideration. First, the discriminative patches are extracted from the raw scene image by an iterative algorithm. Then, the convolutional neural network is employed to capture the high-level semantic features from discriminative patches and entire image, respectively. Next, the modified VLAD is exploited to aggregate the features of discriminative patches into local feature. Finally, the global feature generated from the entire image is concatenated with the local feature to be the discriminative representation for classification. The proposed outperforms several state-of-the-art methods on the MIT 67 Indoor and Scene 15 database.
