This paper presents a framework for computervision tasks on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) which allows rapid integration of vision algorithms by separating the framework from the vision algorithms. A vision system can be created by using plug-and-play methodology. On an abstract level several input and output channels of the system can be defined. Also, commonly used image transformations are modularized and can be added to the inputs or outputs of an algorithm. Algorithms of dense stereovision can be of great interest for designing computervision systems of autonomous mobile objects. In the process of computing dense stereo, on the one hand, a lot of arithmetic operations are performed and a significant memory resource is required, and, on the other hand, the majority of dense stereovision algorithms can be parallelized. Different modern computer architectures available for processing data from stereo sensors can be named. While choosing certain architecture it is necessary to take into consideration energy efficiency, performance and dimensions of final algorithm implementation. The article gives justification to choose the algorithm of dense stereovision and analyzes its efficiency on different calculators. The analysis is performed on three different architectures: classic CPU, GPU and FPGA. The aim of the analysis is to find the best architecture to suit the task of using dense stereovision algorithms in mobile systems of computervision.

images can substantially change their appearance and shape when they are acquired using different modalities, with lighting variations or at widely different viewpoints. Even with the state-of-the-art technology, e.g., the generalized dual-bootstrap iterative closest point (GDB-ICP) method, it is still difficult to register those challenging images. To handle this issue, this paper proposes a novel log-polar feature guided iterative closest point (LPF-ICP) method for image registration. In particular, by taking log-polar (LP) image features (including corners and bulbs) as seed, the LPF-ICP method first forms the initial bootstrap regions and the related similar transformation via the matching of LP seeds. Then, driven by the single-scale Harris features (including corners and edges), the proposed method gradually expands the bootstrap regions and updates the transformation estimate until the regions cover the entire image overlap. Finally, the experimental evaluation shows that the LPF-ICP method succeeds in registering all the 22image pairs contained in the Rensselaer dataset, while the GDB-ICP method only succeeds 19 of them.

The similarity measure plays the key role in the self-learning framework for single image super-resolution. This paper involves matrix regression with properties of robustness and two-dimensional structure to measure the similarity between image blocks and enhance the effect of super-resolution. Specifically, we use the minimal nuclear norm of representation error as a criterion, and the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) to calculate the similarity between high- and low-resolution image blocks. Evaluation on several images with different interference and experimental results of super-resolution images clearly demonstrate the advantages of our proposed method in visual robustness and super-resolution effects.

Bottled mineral water must be tested to determine whether there exist suspended solids before leaving the factory. At present, it is mainly observed by manual methods. This method is time-consuming and laborious. It relies on artificial subjective feelings, and the detection effect is unsatisfying. Aiming at this problem, an automatic detection method for testing suspended solids in bottled mineral water based on computervision technology is established in this paper, which includes image acquisition, object recognition of suspended solids, quantity statistics, size estimation, and other image analysis processing. On the basis of this, an automatic detection device for suspended solids in bottled mineral water is designed, and the testing of suspended solids in bottled mineral water is accomplished. The testing results show that the method proposed in this paper can find out suspended solids in bottled mineral water both qualitatively and quantitatively with high precision. The statistics for quantity of suspended solids is accurate. The above device and method could be applied to the detection of bottled mineral water before water leaving the factory with the features of accurate detection, saving labor, improving work efficiency, and easy operation.
