Improving the accuracy of depth perception in virtual environments is a significant ongoing area of study. This research examines the influence of various depth cues on depth perception accuracy in magnified virtual environments. This study applies several graphics techniques selectively onto 3D medical images presented in a semi-immersive virtual environment. An experiment was conducted using a one-wall 3D projection system to measure the impact of graphics techniques and depth cues on depth perception. The experimental results presented a tendency of depth underestimation in magnified virtual environments. This study reveals further research directions for investigating impacts of depth cues on properly perceive depth in virtual spaces.

Colour image segmentation is an important and crucial step for any computervision task. In real time application the segmentation method should be simple and fast. The most non trivial issue of any multi class segmentation problem is to estimate the number of levels in an image. In this paper we proposed a valley based thresholding method for color image segmentation. Our proposed method is capable to detect the number of levels through dominant peaks of each R, G, B color histogram. In terms of time complexity and average performance measure proposed method is better than the Otsu's multi class and JSEG based segmentation approaches.

This paper addresses the problem of spherical imageprocessing. Thanks to projective geometry, the omnidi-rectional image can be presented as a function on sphere S2. The target application includes omnidirectional image smoothing. We describe a new method of smoothing for spherical images. For that purpose, we in-troduce a suitable Wiener filter and we use the Tikhonov method to these images. In order to compare their performances, we present the most used classical spherical kernels.
