The incorporation of renewable energy sources into smart grid systems does basically signify a significant move of achieving sustainable energy consumption and management. On the contrary, due to the unpredictability of renewables and the energy grids’ increased complexity, there remain certain issues to be tackled. This study explores enhancing of the capacity of energy to be derived from renewable sources through IoT linked management systems. Through the utilization of modern IoT technologies which contribute towards maximizing the effectiveness of smart grid operations the study aims to accomplish this thereby enhancing the efficiency, reliability, sustainability of smart grids, which in turn facilitate the balancing of energy supply and demand and optimal energy distribution followed by the ready integration of renewable energy sources. This paper focuses on a holistic solution that includes the utilization of IoT sensors and devices to perform real-time energy monitoring, devising smart algorithms for an energy management system, and harnessing the power of cloud computing to analyze data. This part involves implementation explaining the practical steps done to work out the framework: system’s architecture design, IoT devices selection, data management activities and the control mechanism’s integration. Simulation results represent the ability of distributed IoT systems to advance smart grid practices by showing a decrease in energy transportation losses, AC grid stability and the integration of RES potential. Problems that come up during the course of project, like scalability and security, are described, and solutions to those problems proposed.

A building slope deformation monitoring system based on the internet of Things technology was studied in this paper. Through the powerful data acquisition, storage, calculation and analysis capabilities of new technologies such as sensors, cloud computing, big data communication and visualization, and a variety of monitoring data acquisition instruments, sensors, communication terminals, cloud platform and other software and hardware resources as the carrier, it can realize real-time online equipment, continuous data acquisition, real-time calculation, data analysis, emergency warning, and the whole process of deformation monitoring services. Our research solves the deficiency of traditional technical means and effectively improves the timeliness, reliability and information level of construction slope deformation monitoring. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences. Class incremental learning and internet of Things (IoT) are related but have not yet been extensively integrated. With the exponential rise in the number of IoT devices, the total amount of data produced is massive, thus it is infeasible to send all the data directly to the cloud. Training deep learning models in an incremental manner can help saving the training time and reduce the computational load required to train the model. In this work, we develop and demonstrate an incremental class learning system using only features of images to reduce large memory footprints in comparison with using raw images. Our experiments show that the proposed method achieves similar accuracy within a shorter time frame. We also develop a distributed training method of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) between an IoT edge device and a cloud. The IoT edge device carries out feature extraction to reduce the transmission load to the cloud which also eases the training cost. Due to technical bottlenecks such as systems vulnerable to attacks and data are easily tampered with, and it is difficult for the distributed power system data storage management to achieve multi-agent integration and development. Known as the "trust machine,"the Blockchain has an essential role in promoting the energy internet construction with its distributed storage, tamper-proof, traceable, and multi-node sharing technical characteristics. Its technical advantages have great potential application value in the power industry. Most of the existing blockchain schemes directly combine the CP-ABE algorithm with the Blockchain. However, due to the lack of permission inheritance, these schemes have permission to redundancy and waste computing resources. In this paper, a new user-controlled on-chain permission management scheme is proposed. The original CP-ABE model is extended in this scheme, and the concept of role assignment and attribute tree is proposed. The attribute tree uses the multi-tree structure to realize the attribute set's specification description. The connectivity between roles in the attribute tree represents the inheritance relationship of permission so that the permission inheritance and permission granting can be realized. In this paper, a sidechain prototype system is developed for evaluating the scheme, and its performance is tested and analyzed. The experimental results show that the prototype system can realize the user-controlled permission assignment and permission inheritance function of data owner on the Blockchain. © 2021 ACM.

Advances in technology and the rapid development of the internet have led to more information and data that needs to be protected because there are many ways that hackers can do to get information or data. The vulnerability of a network is also caused by the more open knowledge about hacking. distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is an attack in which more than one attacker floods with packets to the server, so the server is busy serving many packet requests and makes server performance decrease. Many studies have been done to detect DDoS attacks. However, the study conducted still uses old datasets that have not followed the development of DDoS attack trends. This study classifies the CICIDS2018 DDoS attack dataset with feature selection using information gain to look for features that have a big influence on determining whether a packet sent is a DDoS attack or not. The Naïve Bayes method is used to build a prediction model. The use of information gain to perform feature selection on the CICIDS2018 dataset resulted in nine optimal features, including src_ip, dst_ip, flow_duration, flow_iat_max, fwd_iat_max, and bwd_iat_tot. The results show the accuracy of DDoS attack detection for the Naïve Bayes method without feature selection is 65% and 69.6% with feature selection.

Nowadays, the internet of Thing (IoT) is a potentially powerful solution for eHealth applications. It is a smart technology that provides remote care in real time and requires low latency health data processing and transmission. The large number of connected objects to Cloud can be a problem for low-latency workloads, which is the case of several health mobile applications. To this end, Fog computing, has emerged, where Cloud computing is extended to the edge of the network to reduce latency and network congestion. It provides a highly virtualized platform that provides health data storage on remote public Cloud servers to which users cannot be fully trusted, especially when we are dealing with sensitive data like health data. In fact, it becomes necessary to rethink a new more robust secure technique. To provide such technique, we proposed a new secure solution called IoToDChain for e-Health mobile application, based on cryptographic techniques especially Elliptic Curve Diffie Hellman-RSA and the Blockchain paradigm. They exchange of a secret key in confidential and robust manner and protect patients' privacy in a mobile-Fog-Cloud environment. The experiments achieved promising results for good data protection against the most known attacks in healthcare systems. © 2020 Copyright for this paper by its authors.
