Fog computing is a new variety of the cloud computing paradigm that brings virtualized cloud services to the edge of the network to control the devices in the IoT. Fog computing is implemented as an intermediate platform between end devices and cloud computing data centers. The recent popularity of the internet of Things (IoT) has made fog computing a necessity to handle a variety of devices. It has been recognized as an important platform to provide efficient, location aware, close to the edge, cloud services. Fog radio access network(F-RAN) is a promising network architecture derived from fog computing. In this paper, we propose a device-to-device two-layer distributed cache model based on fog computing. First, we proposed a double-layer distributed cache model based on D2D communication and fog wireless access network, then we made one of the user equipments(DEs) to be central UE. The central UE can actively cache all the content of the fog node. When a UE applies for a file, it first applies to the central UE. If the central UE does not have one, it then applies to neighboring UEs in turn according to the priority of the sum of local content popularity which can reduce transmission delay. After a period of time, the buffer capacity in each UE is full. When there are new files to be cached, we propose a dynamic programming algorithm based on the knapsack problem, so that the files in each UE always have the largest sum of local content popularity. The simulation results show that this caching method can effectively reduce the transmission delay and the algorithm can improve the cache hate rate of files found in UE.

The industry identification analysis system is the primary technical problem in building the data acquisition capability of the railway internet of things, and the configuration analysis of complex equipment assets is the difficulty in application. According to the configuration analysis management requirements of complex equipment of the high-speed railway train-set, combined with the technical information management of the high-speed railway train-set, the corresponding handle structure of the high-speed railway train-set is given, and the distributed processing algorithm of configuration analysis of the high-speed railway train-set is designed. The high-speed analysis ability, stability and reliability of the system and method described in this paper are verified by experiments, which can meet the practical requirements of railway identification application innovation.

With the vigorous rise of the internet and the internet of Things, as well as the rapid development of computer technology and artificial intelligence technology, the storage of massive data, has gradually become an urgent problem in the development of these technologies [1], and most of these data are various small files. Take Facebook as an example, it has stored more than 65 billion pictures, each picture has 4 different sizes, and the peak period of picture visits is 1 million per second [2]. In the process of image-related deep learning model training, a large number of labeled pictures are required, and the pictures are mostly small files of several hundred KB. Taking ResNet as an example, it only accepts picture input with a pixel of 224⁎224 [3]. In order to cope with the growth of massive small files, traditional stand-alone storage simply cannot meet the demand. The paper designs and implements a micro-service style high-availability distributed storage system, which has the following 4 advantages: 1) The easy-to-use service interface provides external file upload, download, and delete APIs. 2) Support the storage of small files in different data formats, and adopt a unified data description method for each format. 3) Data redundancy backup to make file storage persistently available. 4) Multi-point distributed storage, supporting the elastic expansion of storage capacity.

Fog computing plays a pivotal role in the internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem because of its ability to support delay-sensitive tasks, bringing resources from cloud servers closer to the 'ground' to support IoT devices that are resource-constrained. Although fog computing offers a lot of benefits such as quick response to requests, geo-distributed data processing and data processing in the proximity of the IoT devices, the exponential increase of IoT devices and large volumes of data being generated has led to a new set of challenges. One such challenge is the allocation of resources to IoT tasks to match their computational needs and QoS requirements whilst meeting task deadlines. Most proposed solutions in existing works suggest task offloading mechanisms where IoT devices would offload their tasks randomly to the fog layer. Of course, this helps in minimizing the communication delay, however, most tasks would end up missing their deadlines as many delays are experienced when fog node is deciding to process part of the task or offloading it to the next fog node. In this paper, we propose and introduce a Resource Allocation Scheduler (RAS) at the IoT-Fog gateway whose goal is to decide where and when a task is to be offloaded either to the fog layer or the cloud layer based on their priority needs, computational needs and QoS requirements and minimize round-trip time. The study followed the four phases of the top-down methodology. To test the efficiency and effectiveness of the RAS, a model was evaluated in a simulated smart home setup. The important metrics that were used are the queuing time, offloading time and throughput. The results showed that RAS helps in minimizing the round-trip time, increase throughput and improve QoS. Furthermore, the approach addressed the starvation problem, which was affecting low priority tasks. The advent of the Bitcoin system has brought another boom in the internet era. The efficient integration of distributed fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors and cloud computing platform is used to achieve accurate measurement and evaluation of physical quantities, which solves the problems of traditional fiber Bragg grating sensing technology for health structure monitoring system, such as the cost and space constraints, it is difficult to deploy enough servers to deal with data collection, transmission and storage in real time. The cloud platform using fiber Bragg grating sensors adopts the structure of erbium-doped fiber cascaded Bragg grating, reasonably configures the FBG demodulator acquisition and analysis software, deploys the health monitoring system in the cloud, constructs the cloud platform of high-efficiency health monitoring optical fiber sensor network, improves the scalability of the system, flexibly deploys applications and services, and ensures the security and reliability of various real-time monitoring data and professional data. Named Data Networking (ndN) is a promising framework which advocates ubiquitous in-network caching to enhance content delivery. The framework provides mechanisms for users to request content restricted by public key of its source or the cryptographic digest of the content object to avoid receiving fake content. However, it does not provide any mechanisms to learn this critical information. Blockchain is a distributed ledger technology which could supply enhanced security, easy extensibility and scriptable programmability. Till now, the technology has attracted lots of attentions in network management research. However, each type of blockchain has its drawbacks, which could hurt the efficiency or credibility of system. This paper combines different types of blockchain, leverages a hybrid chain based Hierarchical Name Resolution Service (HNRS) for ndN. The design could provide a credible, efficient, flexible HNRS for ndN, thus supply an important support for ndN to build a credible, efficient, flexible benign ecological environment.

Modern applications in cloud computing, internet of things and machine learning are I/O intensive. They use data storage systems as the main resource of a data center. The advent of new storage technologies makes it possible to increase the performance of I/O operations by integrating devices with different performance within the data storage system by utilizing the storage-tiering approach. To prevent data loss and service downtime, the data storage systems must ensure fault tolerance using data replication management. As modern hybrid IT infrastructures are based on hyperconverged systems, the development of new methods and models for storage management in order to ensure high performance of I/O operations, high availability and fault tolerance becomes an urgent need. The authors propose the management method based on the model of a distributed two-level data storage system. The proposed method uses the algorithms for data migration between fast and slow levels of the data storage system and the algorithms for replication of data between the nodes of distributed data storage. The simulation results indicate that the proposed management method allows increasing performance of I/O operations with files and evenly placing replicas of data blocks on the data center nodes. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
