As the development of internet of things (IoT), more and more devices have been connected into the network. Massive and various devices have generated large kinds of applications, however they also bring new challenges for the network maintenance and management. One of the significant differences between internet andinternet of things is that, the embedded devices are a major category of devices in the IoT, which are with single function, poor performance and in huge quantities. When divided by their functions, they are all monitoring devices that are distributed in the network and collecting data all the time. Large amount of data that are generated in real time should be transmitted to the collecting andcomputing devices the fast the better. How to transmit the data efficiently and how to meet the needs of variety of different applications are the new challenges arisen. In this paper, the data transmission characteristics and different applications' requirements in the IoT are detailed analyzed. Further more, a new data processing model, which is a message oriented middleware data processing model, is proposed. With the new model, data transmission and processing will be more convenient, efficient, easy to find, easy to share and secure.

Cloud computing is a well known computingtechnology that deals with large capacity of information or data using highly available geographically distributed resources that can be accessed by user via internet in terms of pay per use basis. In such a way, tasks should be scheduled efficiently such that user specified QoS constraints are satisfied. Task scheduling, which is NP-complete problem, plays an important role in cloud computing. In this research work, Big Bang-Big Crunch (BBBC) technique is used for scheduling of independent tasks in the cloud environment aiming to reduce makespan. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated by comparing it against GA using CloudSim tool. Experimental results show that the BBBC approach outperforms GA approach in terms of makespan.

In this paper, we propose a packet-level parallel data transfer and a Two-Phase Scheduling(TPS) algorithm for collective communication primitives in MPICH-G2. The algorithms are characterized by two unique features: 1) a concurrent data transfer of packets from a source node to multiple destination nodes and2) a scheduling of enhancing the performance of collective communications by early identification of bottleneck incurring nodes. The proposed technique is implemented and the performance improvement is measured. According to the performance evaluation, the proposed method has achieved about 20% performance improvement against conventional block data transfer methods when a binomial tree is used for the communication in LAN. In TPS algorithm, the distribution of messages to bottleneck incurring nodes is delayed to minimize the affection of the node to the total performance. Using TPS algorithm on WAN, significant performance improvement has also been achieved for various data sizes and number of nodes.

This paper introduces a grid-based computational platform for simulating structural systems using the Java CoG Kit (Java community Grid Kit), a Java wrapper for grid middleware library. Based on hierarchical modeling and cluster-to-cluster computing, this proposed framework integrates simplified component and rigorous component into one single simulation over a grid-based computing environment. The hierarchical modeling describes the intricate relations between the rigorous component model and the rest of the system by the synchronization of two scales of the component models. The simulation works are then submitted to a grid computing environment established with cluster computing system.
